1:27 _"The subject did not survived interrogation"_ In other words: 'We beat the shit out of him until he spilled everything he knew and then we tossed him out of the airlock.'
More like he told the truth, the interrogators realized that the fact that their race was destroyed because of a law they didn't know existed was bullshit, and THEN they tossed him out the airlock.
The guy was probably the most unlucky Taidan in the entire war. Getting caught by the people you were just trying to finish genocide on by attacking the 600 thousand remaining after incinerating the millions on the planet nearby. Yeeeah, I think I would have jumped out the airlock myself once the Salvage corvettes latched on.
Getting towed against your command into a giant command ship manned by the species you're trying to exterminate? I'm sure it's gentlemanly. Tea and crumpets!
In the next mission, theres a capture-able Carrier. Needs 6 Salvage Corvettes though. You should also capture the 1-3 destroyers in the next mission :)
Also, they moved the HW2 feature where hyperspacing collects all the resources on the map into HW1, so you don't need to worry about collecting all of them anymore. See when you hit the Quick Dock button your RUs jumped up a bit.
I don't know much about this game and I was sceptic of it but I LOVE IT!!!!, from the stealing ships to the details and the story line. cant wait to see more
I get reminded from the wolf squad about the wolfpack squadron in star wars around the clone wars era commanded by plo koon if I'm right please correct me if I'm wrong
I think you just screwed yourself by building so many ships before jumping. The enemy strength will be adjusted to the strength of your fleet as you are jumping in! What you should have done is to collect all the resources you can but NOT building anything before jumping. :-)
To salvage certain ships requires a number of salvage corvettes. All frigates and resource collectors need 2. Destroyers and resource controllers need 3. Carriers need 4. Heavy cruisers need 5.
Oh man, but if the Assault Frigate isn't one of my favorite ship designs, I dunno what is*. Those twin plasma cannon for the big juicy targets while the turrets annihilate any corvette sized ships or lower around you... Truly the workhorse of the Kushan. *(OK, not counting the Taiidani Heavy Cruiser)
You never played the original homeworld, did you? As a note, the salvage corvette trick is one of the classics, and in the original code allowed you to go beyond your ship cap. ;-)
Those look more like radiators than solar panels on the Ion frigates. They would dispell the exess heat from the engines/cannons so that the crew dident boil inside :)A ship without them (or rather could 'hide' them was the Normandy from Mass Effect. becouse ships almost never engage within visable range with each other (I always think of fights in trek as not-to-scale) which means they rely on heat signatures (infra red) to target. The Normandy could hide these signatures by turning up the therostat
long ago, after the first time the ion array frigates jumped out at me, I made sure I had at least 12 salvage corvettes (in the original, you could build 50 if you liked), and had them pre-positioned to grab the first 6. then I grab the last 2, so I have 8 to use in the next mission. In the new version, that can backfire as the enemy forces numbers go up proportionally. In this mission, it just helps to have the 6 to use on the enemy carrier. Then again, I never blow up something I can salvage, even if it's just for recycling it :) the limit to 14 salvage corvettes did rather cramp my style :) oh well, fun game whichever version you play.
And get more Support Frigates to heal your capital ships including the Mothership. There are caps for all ships. Frigates have a cap of14-16 including any frigate you salvage so build up your Support Frigates.
Just for future reference I'm pretty sure when you send salvage corvettes to take a ship the green rings appear next to the ship like it did with the carrier but it doesn't matter because you couldn't take the carrier in that mission anyway. Also, when you do take a carrier be aware that it doesn't function like a normal carrier in skirmish mode because it doesn't build ships just repairs them. AND I'm pretty sure you get plasma bombers next mission so you might as well just put all the interceptors in one squad and make the second one for bombers.
You actually could yoink that carrier, I saw praskieva do it, it's just that shack didn't have enough salvage corvettes. You need, like, four+ to snatch anything larger than a frigate. With enough you could steal a MOTHERSHIP in Home world 2
I don't know about naming a Fighter Wing, but I think that two nice names for your first two big Capital Ships could be Pride of Kharak and Kharak's Vengeance.
Do you plan to play any online player matches or are you going to wait until it is out of beta? Oh and the royal flush gang might be fun for your assault frigate line.
@@mulderscully3707 that comment I made was 2 years ago lmao, I think at the time I had a PC with an i5 2500k, 550ti, and 8 gb of ddr3 so it was a lower end PC
I totally stole that carrier. It took 6 Salvage Ships. It was fantastic. But it couldnt build ships. I think that was because it was early in the single player. Also the support ships can repair anything. INCLUDING the MOTHERSHIP. (no spoilers just something you should know.) Love this game.
I've never played Homeworld or been hugely into space RTS, but I've always had some interest! Would this game be a good place to start? I've heard nothing but good things, but I don't know how friendly it would be to a beginner..
how do you move ships up and down? like I know the maps are a sphere ,and you can move them anywhere in the sphere , but I cant seem to figure out how , when I play its just like im moving them on a normel flat map
1st- Holy shit your "borrowed" corvettes survived the dog fight over the asteriod field. 2nd- you should name your second wing of interceptors Gold squadron. You know, keep the star wars theme. Just a suggestion.
Quick question: I have seen people select some of there ships and then drag a selection box over enemies and there ships attack all enemies in that selection box. How do i do that command ?
You can use Salvage Frigates to capture most ships even a Carrier
6 for Carrier
6 for Cruiser
4 for Destroyer
2 for all Frigates
1:27 _"The subject did not survived interrogation"_
In other words: 'We beat the shit out of him until he spilled everything he knew and then we tossed him out of the airlock.'
Just about right
They used the subject for Vacuum testing. its different
More like he told the truth, the interrogators realized that the fact that their race was destroyed because of a law they didn't know existed was bullshit, and THEN they tossed him out the airlock.

lol :]
Carrier captain: "are they deploying our own ion arrays against us? I've never been more thankful for our shitty technology"
Sir they are deploying there on ion arrays agents us as well
Destroying their carrier with their own ion arrays... oh the iony.
I see what you did there.
Shojiro Katsuragi Leave, just... Leave
Gold haha
Budum-ching
omg man, it's spelled irony
when big ship appears "Can you steal it?"
The morale of this video is: If you can't beat them, Steal them!
But what happens to the crews?
Getting towed against your command into a giant command ship manned by the species you're trying to exterminate? I'm sure it's gentlemanly. Tea and crumpets!
I was surprised. I checked the stats on the Ion Array Frigates in my game and they only do 1/3 the damage of my own Ion Cannon Frigates.
Grand Theft Ion Array IV: Episodes From Hiigaran Fleet
You, sir, amuse me. Have my thumbs-up.
Hey TheXPGamers , you ever played any GTA games?

cannonfodder343 This is not entirely true. it seems to do this on some maps, but on others it definitely does not.
I think they should be named Vengeance Squadron, for Kharak!
I don't know much about this game and I was sceptic of it but I LOVE IT!!!!, from the stealing ships to the details and the story line. cant wait to see more
I like the sound of Wolf Squadron for the second squad
I get reminded from the wolf squad about the wolfpack squadron in star wars around the clone wars era commanded by plo koon if I'm right please correct me if I'm wrong
John Blackburn you are
Like that idea :D sounds Gooddddd
but mine from robo tech
Jin Roh,
Wolf Brigade
I love how you keep capturing the enemy ships.
I think you just screwed yourself by building so many ships before jumping. The enemy strength will be adjusted to the strength of your fleet as you are jumping in!

My best guess is that those panels on the old ion cannons ships are actually radiators to dissipate heat from the cannon.
"Sir, we have frienemy ships inbound..."
After discovery of homeworld 3 im rewatching this series
They will tell stories of Shack the ship jacker. Ordering his ships to steal other ships.
He is a hero.
Phantom squadron :)
Oh I like that one.
TheXPGamers :D
Yea they sound bad aurs
skyofwar123 Freedom squadron
Banshee squad
To salvage certain ships requires a number of salvage corvettes. All frigates and resource collectors need 2. Destroyers and resource controllers need 3. Carriers need 4. Heavy cruisers need 5.
dude u have made me want to get this game in one ep and i never heard of it before
shack you missed a joke resource collector "miner" damage
next mission you have the opportunity to capture a carrier, you'll need six salvage corvettes to do it
Oh man, but if the Assault Frigate isn't one of my favorite ship designs, I dunno what is*.
Those twin plasma cannon for the big juicy targets while the turrets annihilate any corvette sized ships or lower around you...

18:19 no borrowed implies that you have the intent of giving them back.
What if its in pieces?
Blue squadron comes from the classic battle star Galactica the TV show.
23:04 Oh, the iony.
I'm not sorry.
awesome the enemys carriers have awesome explosions
when you get a capital ship like a destroyer or something with a lot of guns you should call it the Wrath of Kharak :)
I watched a person that played the original and went salvage insane and took everything he could...and he did and did well at it.
Just started to watch HW1 play through after your Desert of Kharak play through. Damn the reason for the destruction hits hard.
They broke there own 4000 year old treaty
All i could think was those frigates had been "Blood Ravened"
Yar har fiddle-dee-dee being a pirate is alright with me...
Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free...You are a pirate!~
you should call them Raptor Squadron for the second interceptor squad :)
SO COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL
The Jackal Squadron or the Silver Angels Squadron
Can't wait for your next video
You never played the original homeworld, did you?
As a note, the salvage corvette trick is one of the classics, and in the original code allowed you to go beyond your ship cap. ;-)
Mechakid
Sorry for the necro but I need to vent.
pretty sure he just has no memory retention.
That or acts the fool (too well) for the recordings.
Tee-hee! Say, that's a nice ship...

Scarlet72 You still need to see a heat signature.
TheXPGamers when can we expect part 3? Im enjoying this Lets play too much haha
holy shit the game looks amazing
Good play through so far! :)
Nightingale Squadron!

The Grey Wolf Squadron

The new ships are just pure eye candy
Love this series could you make them faster pls
I don't know about naming a Fighter Wing, but I think that two nice names for your first two big Capital Ships could be Pride of Kharak and Kharak's Vengeance.
Would naming a carrier "Lament of Kharak" be apropriate? As it is a repair and supply ship?
Shock Squad... but i guess i'll find out in two seconds when i click on the next episode.
Do you plan to play any online player matches or are you going to wait until it is out of beta?
Oh and the royal flush gang might be fun for your assault frigate line.
Any ideas on the system requirements for the classic version? I know I wont be able to play this version.
My computer could handle the remastered edition, just reduce graphics settings and window the game. It always helps
@@5erase How olp is your pc?
@@mulderscully3707 that comment I made was 2 years ago lmao, I think at the time I had a PC with an i5 2500k, 550ti, and 8 gb of ddr3 so it was a lower end PC
is homeworld 2 also available in a remastered HD form? Does this Homeworld 1 HD has the improvement controls of the second one?
Awsome!!!
You could build a carrier instead of resouce controllers that way you could build ships and collect resources and hyperjump with one ship
I think that its nearly time to fighter cheese your enemy
more and longer vids shack!
I'm here 5 years later getting the homeworld collection
Same here. Got *all* of the games in November, now I can't get enough of them. I love Homeworld!
I totally stole that carrier. It took 6 Salvage Ships. It was fantastic. But it couldnt build ships. I think that was because it was early in the single player. Also the support ships can repair anything. INCLUDING the MOTHERSHIP. (no spoilers just something you should know.)
Love this game.
Stolen ships can't build, but the can repair
Do you have something against corvette? Cause you are ignoring them something fierce. They are going to develop a complex at this rate. :D
Shack you Need about six salvage corvettes to take carriers and destroyers.
Black Sheep Squadron. :)
If you're going with the star wars theme, name them Wraith Squadron.
It takes 5 salvage Corvettes to capture a carrier, but you can't capture the one you come across at the khar-selim anyway
I've never played Homeworld or been hugely into space RTS, but I've always had some interest! Would this game be a good place to start? I've heard nothing but good things, but I don't know how friendly it would be to a beginner..
Well this game is one of the earlier space rts's so this is probably a good place yes, also as far as I've heard there is plenty of in game tutorials
this game is awesome
how do you move ships up and down? like I know the maps are a sphere ,and you can move them anywhere in the sphere , but I cant seem to figure out how , when I play its just like im moving them on a normel flat map
Delta Squadron would be a nice name for one of your squads, doesnt nessesarily have to be for your second interceptor squad
i know this is late but ill laugh if he actually takes a giant mother ship
Yeah, I bet he didn't survive...they probably got so pissed they shoved him out the fucking airlock.
How about Skulls Squadron
(Robotech)
So if your ships die and never come back is that a viable mechanic for the enemy ships to?
Bravo squadron
this game is so cool
Shack you need to keep checking on your research, the corvette chassis was in research last episode and still is
If we want to keep going with the star wars squadron names you should try Renegade or Shadow squadron.
1st- Holy shit your "borrowed" corvettes survived the dog fight over the asteriod field.
2nd- you should name your second wing of interceptors Gold squadron. You know, keep the star wars theme. Just a suggestion.
Quick question:
I have seen people select some of there ships and then drag a selection box over enemies and there ships attack all enemies in that selection box. How do i do that command ?
Control+ drag box
This is a cool game. wish I could afford it
Soo cool
The Subject did not survive interrogation. We all know you threw him out of the airlock afterwards no sense in denying it
Hey shack do you think the star trek armada dev team could make that mod for homework remastered it would be awesome.
I dont know if you know this but when you hyperspace, it automatically collects all the RU's in the area that you didnt get
lol I did the same with the Array frigates
my fucking god shack, you are a fuckin' master at this I can never get as good as you at salvaging enemy ships
What happened to formations? Looks pretty, but what happened to the formations?
Or even the dragoon (musket users) squadron
Wait, Rouge Squadron from star wars?
Call the second wing excalibur squad
Plz keep them coming
Omega squadron omega means end or alpha because that means beginning
K so this will probably sound stupid but is there a Homeworld remasterd 2?
Why didn't you try capturing that carrier? D:
oops could not capture it.
:D sorry!
DyamotoStars I think you can, but you need like 6 salvage corvettes
Name the second fighter wing gold squadron cause starwars.
Red Squadron and the leader of that Squadron luke skywalker
My only question is will they ever return?
