- Glad tidings for Autumn and the upcoming All Hallows' Eve! Oh, and happy Friday the 13th as well. In honour of spooky season, I offer you this cover of Come Little Children (Sarah's Theme), composed by James Horner for Hocus Pocus. The extended lyrics have some rather foggy origins, but I discovered them through Erutan's wonderful cover of this song.

The Art:
The art was heavily altered by me from paintings found in the “Weingartner Stifterbüchlein”, c 1510
The Lyrics:
Come little children
I'll take thee away
Into a land of enchantment
Come little children
The time's come to play
Here in my garden of magic
Follow sweet children
I'll show thee the way
Through all the pain
And the sorrow
Weep not poor children
For life is this way
Murdering beauty and passion
Hush now dear children
It must be this way
Too weary of life
And deceptions
Rest now my children
For soon we'll away
Into the calm and the quiet
Come little children
I'll take thee away
Into a land of enchantment
Come little children
The time's come to play
Here in my garden of magic - เพลง
Hildegard woke up and casually decided to bless us on Spooktober like a Santa coming on Christmas with gifts
This mf is everywhere
Spooktober AND Friday the 13th
@@i_am_not_stupid_8953 I WAS JUST THINKING THE SAME THING
@@FilthAndRuin So was I.
A perfect song for wandering aimlessly through a Middle Ages autumn forest, hoping not to encounter the fair folk
oh to be able to wander through an autumn forest in the middle ages
Or the Spanish Inquisition.
@@vinylstarboy9547you can't Hope not to encounter the Spanish inquisition if you can't even expect its arrival
Aha, yeah, "hoping not to." Oh golly gee, I sure hope there's no eligible fae around these woods, oops I tripped and showed my bare ankle...
Unless they are the one singing this song
Disclaimer: Make sure any children are out of the room when you listen to this, otherwise they might start wandering into the forest.
Especially if you live in Hamelin 😅
😂
Like the Pied Piper.
Your enchanting voice suits this song perfectly!
Thank you so much! 🙏☺️
how come the video came out an hour ago and you'''ve commented yesterday???
@@WhenAllTheWarmthLeavesUs It was unlisted until 2 hours ago. She shared it early with her Patreon people.
@@MarkRose1337 That's just the modern idea. The actual way is she is truly a magical Enchantress;)
You’ve earned your children’s souls with this one.
Amazing version! For some reason my brain started hearing "Once Upon a December" from the "Anastasia" soundtrack.
It's very similar
Yes!
Same
I would a cover of this song as well. Imagine perfect little holiday line up.
I could totally see how it made that connection!
The Sanderson sisters in dagged sleeves is what I needed to see today.
Have literally been waiting years for someone to do a serious interpretation of the song in this style.
As enchanting as hoped.
Hildegard is the Elf Queen sitting in a misty ring of stones luring children, young and old, to Faerie Land with her enchanting song 🧚♀️
Sarah Sanderson, eat your heart out!!!! Beautiful, lyrical, enchanting. You'd steal adults as well as the children with this rendition ❤👏
The voice is ethereal and the song sounds like it could be in a Tim Burton film (especially Sleepy Hollow). I love it!
Thank you!
This Halloween gets a new soundtrack 🔥🔥🔥
Hauntingly beautiful, you definitely did the song justice. And the illumination art is perfect.
Re the art - especially Kathy Nijimy - the expression is perfect!
OH HELL YEAH! you sing this so beautifully. >:) best birthday upload ever
edit: 😭thanks you guys so much for all the birthday wishes!
Happy birthday! 🥳
Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday!!!
(I put three exclamation marks, so my happy birthday wishes are the most powerful)
Happy birthday! 🎉🎉🎉
Happy birthday! 🎉🎉🎉
Have you ever done any official soundtracks?
You are so freaking talented - I find it baffling that movies and video games aren't banging down your door to perform for them.
Thank you! I did get to work on a few projects this past year. A song for a game called Inkulinati, and the soundtrack for an audio book by Whitney Avalon. :)
@@Hildegardvonblingin The Inkulinati track is a jewel.
@@Hildegardvonblingin Inkulinati looks cool, wishlisted!
@@HildegardvonblinginInkulinati knows their stuff 👍
If Hildegard isn't in the next Witcher somewhere I'll be sorely disappointed
Pov: You wake up to the local Fae singing a lovely song and hear your kids start to walk out the door.
Lovely cover as always by the way!
Oh my god, the combination I always wanted but never thought of!
Just as beautiful as ever, my fair lady. I thank thee for blessing mine ears.
this gon get us out the village 🔥🔥
Thine melodies, like a soothing elixir, dost grace our souls anew, bestowing heavenly respite upon us once more.
You have no idea how hyped I was to see this. I've always thought the original was legitimately haunting and eerie with its guise of innocence while actually being sinister. As always, you did it such justice!
Your voice is so ethereal 😍 Could you do a duet with your brother again? I love his voice almost equally 😅
I’m hoping to bring him back soon!
Incredible as always. What a perfect Friday the 13th release.
Always a good day when a new Hildegard song drops! Lovely as always!!
Gurl when you release your first album you be sure I'll be the first in line to buy it. You're def one of the most talented artists and musicians on TH-cam
If... Or when... they remake the original Hocus Pocus, you have my vote to play Sarah. Brilliant. 10/10 would have followed that voice as a child to my death lol
It would make a great stage musical!
Whoever they choose to play Sarah not only needs to have singing chops, they must also have the acting chops too in oder to pull off Sarah's dim-whitted personally.
Perfect!
I bet you would sound amazing singing My Jolly Sailor Bold.
I came here to listen to a new song. Now my guard is down and I’m very curious about this garden of magic. Surely a voice this pure cannot betray….
Into the garden, y’all!
Garden of magic is death's realm, she's telling the kiddos she's going to kill them..
Amazing! You were made to sing this!
I thought of Erutan. One of her best covers
I've heard at least one other cover that definitely took stylistic inspiration from hers. Easily one of the best versions in general.
Truly enchanting. I've always loved this song. It's hauntingly beautiful. Thank you.
I remember first hearing this full song on a rainy October day 4 years ago as I was waiting for one of my classes to begin. This song has, ever since, been one of my favourites to listen to on a cool autumn day. I especially like the full version as it paints the witch in a different light, where we got the evil, soul stealing version in Hocus Pocus; in this full version she sounds more like a Mother Witch. She genuinely cares about the children and what they are suffering, trying to comfort them but not excusing how bad life can be, just saying “for life must be this way”, helping the children by saying sometimes bad things have to happen. The witch in the full version is such a stark change from the Sanderson Sisters, and I truly love it. You did this song justice and truly made it an enchanting version to listen to.
The lyrics do still entreat the children to come with the singer. In that way it's similar to Yeats' "The Stolen Child".
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
I love you so much, Hildegard!! Your videos make every bad day brighter!
One, I love this rendition. Two, I was actually able to use it in a D&D campaign. Our party was trying to really creep out the people in our caravan, and my bard sang this particular rendition of this song. It was especially fun because my bard plays the dulcimer, and unless I'm much mistaken that's the main instrument in the backing track in this piece. 😁
Yes it is! That’s incredible, I love to hear how these songs get used. :)
Chills! Such a beautiful cover!
Come Ye, Come Ye. Witness the magic of our lady's voice!
Lovely as always dear Hildegard. 🖤🖤
Not sure if this would be the voice of a witch or an angel… truly bewitching and beautiful.
Beautiful!!! 💞💞💞💞
Thanks Charlie!
This is one of the prettiest you have ever done. Thank you. I think kids would be spirited away by your enchanting voice.
... I'm sharing this EVERYWHERE. This is one of the best covers EVER, and super appropriate. ♥
A magical song performed by an enchanted voice!
Not only did you do an (as always) excellently ephemeral job of making beautiful music, but you restored the original lyrics! I've always been incensed that most covers say "garden of shadows", especially those who come from witchy-type artists.
That little lilt to those certain notes is just hypnotic, its just so...
I can't describe it but it's just...
So enchanting. 😊
Enchanting is just the right word.
You know I'm going to be on this bread like butter when Hildegard drops another one!!
As a mother, this brought tears to my eyes. Hauntingly beautiful. Invokes so many feelings (many of them spooky). Well done as ever, m’lady!
I've been in love with this haunting, wistful tune since I first heard it, and you've done a gorgeous job singing it here, keeping all those things I love about it, and adding that very special touch of your own. Beautifully done, Hildegard!
I always liked to substitute "magic" with "madness" myself. Great cover!
This song resonated something to me - it took me all day and a few listens to place it - this is much like the song in Anastacia, "Once Upon a December"
Love both songs!
Absolutely how I imagined it should be . Haunting and beautiful.
Absolute perfection, gives me goosebumps! ❤
Absolutely stunning! This was so beautiful!
Ah the perfect birthday gift. This has to be my favourite cover of this song along with Erutans.
I love thissss ❤❤❤ instant favourite!!
Yours and Erutan's renditions are the bestt! ❤❤❤ Thank youuu
2 music in 2 weeks? The Queen is on fire
Whenever I see a new song, I drop everything to listen.
Gorgeous as always, queen! ❤
Gorgeous!
A perfect song performed expertly, at the perfect time!
Thank you for sharing your art.
omg wasn't expecting instant chills
Love this song and your voice sounds so beautiful singing it ❤ cant wait to hear what you do next x
This should of been at rhe beginning of the second movie. Fits perfectly!
I saw this pop up and was like "eh? I'm sure I'd have seen this if it existed" and then saw it was uploaded 12 days ago :D Excellent
so beautiful and creepy like a spider singing to a fly
What a lovely Friday the 13th gift.
Your voice never fails to give me goosebumps and this song does that perfectly. Thank you. It was one of my favorites before and is again.
I love this version! It captures the message and the rhythm so well! Wonderful job!
Goosebumps. ❤❤❤
Blingin' the holiday, courtesy of Hildegard!
Ah, Lady Hildegard, I find myself most enchanted by thy tapestry of tales spun with both sight and sound. Verily, thy rendition of 'Hocus Pocus' hath bewitched mine senses, yet it is in 'I Need a Hero' where I did find particular delight. Forsooth, as thou didst sing of traversing rain, plague, and deluge, the maiden's quip-"You need Legion"-provoked such hearty laughter that I could scarce contain mine mirth. Thy craft is akin to wizardry, and I await, with bated breath, what magics thou shalt conjure next.🎉❤✨💯🤩
Sisteeeers! 🧹
This is a song I didn't know I needed. Bravo!
That was actually bone chilling . I could actually see children walking into their doom to this music
Your singing skill are great! ❤
**** yeah?! I can't believe you picked this one out. I couldn't get this out of my head as a kid.
Beautiful enchanting whimsical foreboding. All of these and more. Well done!
I’m hypnotized, and I’m not even a child. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
your voice and this arrangement suit this song perfectly, hauntingly beautiful 🙏
I love Hildegard von Blingin' covers so much. I found this channel in like 2021 i think
Hildegaard, I am in love with your voice. Thank you for sharing your gifts ❤️
The thumbnail is *_everything._*
Back early from thine turret, my fair lady. Thou presence honours your meek subjects and is indeed a glad tiding.
Literally finished watching hocus pocus with my partner, went to eat dinner before watching the second one and saw this. Your timing is impeccable!
Man, I was just watching this at the cinema yesterday during a matinee show. It was our anniversary and my partner had never seen it before, so seemed like the perfect choice.
Babe wake up new Hildegard Von Blingin’ just dropped
I love how there's no need to change the lyrics at all. Absolutely lovely cover.
Ok, this is my new favorite cover of this song ❤️❤️❤️❤️
this has absolutely bewitched me
Thy renderings of these melodies are truly marvelous. Thou never dost falter in capturing the very soul of the original tune, and thou maketh it most amusing as well.
I clicked this so fast when it popped up on my explore just now. perfect
Somehow even more hauntingly beautiful than the original.
I've always loved this song so it is such a treat to hear your lovely take on it.
This is giving me the "Pied Piper of Hameln" kind of vibes... 😥
This really is enchanting.
Absolutely the best and prettiest version of this song!
LOVE IT!!!
I love your version :)
The lyrics are from Edgar Allen Poe's poem "Garden of Shadows," by the way.
Urban legend. Sorry.
This is AMAZING!!! For a while now I’ve wondered about how a medieval version of this song would be, and here it is! This is genuinely incredible! Thanks for this!!! 😍😍😍
I started the video giving a like and saving in my playlist, no way this isn't flawless.
I instantly got goosebumps when you started singing.
This is just magestic. I love this song and this channel and now they finally come together. thanks
This blessed my autumn season
