I will never forget the first time I heard her music. I had been up all night and it was starting to get light outside. I was listening to my local classical radio station WEMC Harrisonburg Virginia when they played a track from The Origin of Fire. I was mesmerized, it was some of the most beautiful music I had ever heard.

This is one of my favorites, both of Hildegard's works of music and the performance is so magical .. gentle and yet strong

In contrast to the misled Feminism movement of today, St. Hildegard manifests timeless femininity. She worshipped the One True God with all her womanly potential and became exceptionally virtuous, fruitful, and beautiful because of it!

A great work by all of those involved. The sound of the harp actually was leveled so, that it was totally great on these basic tablets speakers; very very rare.

The Solfeggio tones are very mystical and release very potent frequencies in terms of measurable hertzs that are beneficial to humans, and to all lifeforms actually, including plant lifeforms. Hildegard's mastery of this knowledge is quite evident in her compositions. The monks aren't too shabby at it either.

We don't forget that all things about Hildegard von Bingen, came from God, with all the benefits that He wants to give us, she knew a lot of things, and she left a great legacy for mankind, another person who wants always the love of God is San Juan de la Cruz, a contemporary Spanish saint of Santa Teresa de Avila, and Hildegard von Bingen is called a doctor of the church.

What is the bowed string instrument?
It appears to be a Vielle...At, first I thought it sounded like a hurdy gurdy....then I assumed a Viola da Gamba, but the shape, strings and playing style have me leaning towards Vielle. I am NOT a music historian, just an elementary school music teacher looking for a kick butt Composer/Performer of the Week for my students.
