Oh man! To die for... I this Handel's most beautiful aria?? He wrote so many beautiful arias, duets etc. I can listen to it forever... Soo beautifully sang here! Most beautiful ornamentation too.
So sad! I think she's on the verge of retiring, even though she's young, in opera years. It would probably be a good idea. Who knows, after a couple of years of not singing, she might find her voice somewhat restored and her energy returned. She is such an amazing actress, and at her best, a glorious singer.
Y porqué hay que traducir al anglosajón? 😢el anglosajón no tiene nada de la gracia necesaria para hacer traducciones, en cambio el ITALIANO es completamente válido para hacerse entender mundialmente ❤❤

Stage managers decide that sort of thing. Maybe they think she lies down well. As for Emmanuelle Haim, the conductor, she is very highly regarded, does a lot of things with Natalie and in YT's (now deleted I think) presentation of the finale Haim and her orchestra got ferocious amounts of extended applause.
I'll tell you what happened to her: She grew vocally tired...after the surgeries the decline begun...and in these years it's reaching its peak...i heard her violetta this year...it was sad to hear her go through so much vocal stress to make it through...ah well, it is good that she is SUCH a good actress she can actually make you forget she is singing...a real artist...always my favourite.
She had a cyst and a polyp and she had them removed one in 2001-2002 and the other one a couple years later, i believe, im not good with remembering dates. It is actually completely common for a singer to have vocal surgery, many many singers have had it (Pavarotti, Dion, etc)....in most cases it even renders them better than they ever were! The thing however is that Dessay's voice never truly got over those surgeries, perhaps because it is so light...and with each year it grows weaker, sadly :(
Well, she had put a program to her carreer since long long ago. She had said she would retire around this age...she has 2-3 years left at most, then she wants to retire....as she put it in an interview, she wants to retire before people grow tired of her...how is it possible to grow tired of her :)? She said something like "I want people to say 'she retired? Really?!' when i retire....i dont want them to say 'ah, she retired? Oof!' " haha :) She is so great.

She sings a German imitating italy, like a french! THIS, is Europe.
Une apparition divine quand je me rappelle se spectacle on ne fera pas mieux, Alcina à Garnier aussi 😢merci
What fantastic ornaments in the Da Capo section. Vocal beauty and « poésie » of a high order!
This is one of my favorite performances, by Natalie or anyone.
I was there! :-)

Celia Bartoli has an outstanding rendition of this aria. Check it out
Hay 2 versiones mejores : Sabine Devieilhe y sobre todo Montserrat Caballé.... (de otro mundo)....
@ ONITAS. The first name of Cecelia Bartoli is MARIA ❤
In my sinful and humble opinion, ALL of the women who perform the arias are very, very beautiful ❤❤

3) and that sneezing SOB too!
Somehow, the sneezer, has etched his way into the historical record. And rightly so.
Esplendido !!!
Inger Dam👍👍👍

Parece Leslie Caron en "Zapatillas de Cristal "

Giulio Cesare meets Ruddigore!
Question of perspective
STEPHEN BROWN ?
I have yet to hear sing anything musically...
@LaBartoliLover Lawrence Zazzo
Who plays cesare
What had happened to her? Why she had a surgery?
hello
qualcuno sa dirmi come fare per contattarla per un'audizione..
Paris. Sams fin.
Dessay is a great sopran, however i would prefer Caballé in this aria, i heard her in Barcelona in 1982 and she causes a pandemonium!
AppallingRetro, You evidently failed to notice that this is a humorous spoof. Didn't the costumes and some of the side bits clue you in?
Wow! This is beautiful! Can you please upload the whole opera?
Buy it
You did realize that this part is a spoof.... didn't you?

Nice voice, but her antics really interfere.
I wish she would stick to coloratura roles. Her vibrato gets too wide in her lower range.
That's just it. She can't sing them anymore.
Bad.
Really? Hmm, makes no sense, since her acting abilities are incomparable.
It is an OK voice.. Couldn't sing a OO vowel to save her life.
lose the arm gestures, try to regain your former artistry.
What the hell happened to Natalie? She actually sounded better upside down here.
Sad.
