  • Outdoor shooting review of my wife's Umarex Ruger Mk IV break barrel pistol. All free standing at 10 yards, 12.5, 15 & 20 Metres using RWS Superfield 8.4 Grain, with the 4.52mm head. Pleased with its performance as a low powered cheap plinking break barrel, though a much lighter trigger would definitely make this an ideal first spring pistol for younger shooters.

The silver looks nice. I have the black one. You can easily improve the trigger pull, and then it's a lot easier to hit your targets. There is a drop safety inside that's part of the trigger assembly and it needs to be removed (not the regular safety latch, it remains). Also, you can replace the sear return spring with a much lighter one. While in there, polish the sear catch and the catch at the back of the piston (tiny steel piece). Then grease it all up really well, and your trigger will be about 4lbs instead of 10lbs. It makes a huge difference!

It’s all in whom is shooting it , I find on mine the sights are dead on hit center bullseye 🎯 instead of pumpkin 🎃 on the post 6 o’clock. Thanks Reeves 👍🏻

I can only imagine where you were aiming on the twenty meter shots. It looked like you threw the pellets there rather than shot them 😋 Think those pellets were a little heavy for that range.

Heavier pellets work better in those winds, so it was still capable of hitting those tins. About an inch and a half over the top.

@@reevessairgunningreviews5572 I was gonna say... It was either you were aiming really high, or you got a super fast camera- cause you can see the pellet making impact. Nice zoom though so who knows 😉

Hi, is it just a silver paint job or are the metal pieces actually stainless steel?

would it work as a substitute to a slingshot for hunting small game ?..you know something compact to throw in the backpack instead of carrying an air rifle on outdoor trips

Very poorly made , rear sight wobbles , trigger is DREADFULL , cocking linkage rattles , like a childs toy , returned mine for a Beeman p17 for the same money , great pistol .

I had trevox very durable, but it was a way to big & bulky for a pistol. Hoping for something that smaller, looks nice & is durable. Thanks for the info.

@@AndySmith4501 Why would they lie? My guns are workhorse guns. I use a small pool over & over again. Large review sites are not going to do long haul tests. I had a Crossman P45 jam after jam at 200+ BB's. I used the refund to towards the Trevox. I wan't to know how something peforms after 1k then 5k shots. Only people who workhorse shooters can tell me this.
