Love Lamb of God ,my first introduction with them also was the video of Ruin and I also instantly liked it! I like the new 2nd camera on this video! I would love it if you could react to Nevermore:This Godless Endeavor.Criminal underratet band with masterful guitars, vocals and compositions! Cheers from Germany to you 2! 😉 🤘
Most reaction channels, I want to watch them react to the song as it goes, and that's fine here. But I usually can't wait and skip to the end of the song listening because I want to hear his piano recalling and interpretation. And my reaction is the same as his friend listening. It's absurd how simply he knows the notes and plays it so well.
damn hearing that intro on piano gave me mad chills! awesome reaction vid!! they have alot of great songs but this is probably my favorite Lamb of God song..
Years ago a buddy showed me The Passing/In Your Words from the Wrath album and I was hooked. The way that beautiful acoustic guitar on The Passing fades into the chaos of In Your Words…insane!
Randy is such a cool guy…when I was in my 20’s my bf, at the time, and I went to a lot of shows and everytime we saw Lamb of God Randy would let us come on the bus and one of the shows he told my bf he would bring him up on stage to sing/scream with him and it was really badass!
Oh man, this album is just killer. I remember going to my local record store and picking this up right after release just based on the cover art alone. Ruin into As the Palaces Burn is such a one-two punch to kick things off. I have a special place in my heart for the original mastering and not the remastered version, but it's a preference thing. Great choice to look into.
Same, Art is holding it down, but Chris's style was so damn tasty and a major factor in the songwriting. When I saw that Mike Portnoy got back with Dream Theater I now have hope that Chris could one day come back.
God damn it Judson, you never cease to amaze. Good song choice for a first listen, progressive but covers all of their bases. My favourite off that album for sure.
This is the song that starts to play on their Home video (I forget which one) just as Mark and Randy were fighting. If I remember the intro starts playing while Randy is sitting on the ground against the tour bus with a bloody face. It was perfect. lol
This is one of my all time favorite LoG songs, and probably one of their greatest. It brings a tear to my eyes every time. And I would also say this is a great place to start 🫡
Wow, just yesterday I listened to this song after some time (months, even years) and today you drop this 🤯. That intro is one of the best in their discography (like, for example, Memento Mori). PS: curiusly, is the first song I listened to by Lamb of God a lot of years ago XD, and maybe my favourite.
When Judson starts his piano interpretation, Richard’s look was revealed in his cartoon bubble… (this mutter f@cker, and I shouldn’t be amazed but I still am!!!)
I think I still have this shirt somewhere from high school. As the palaces burn logo on the front and “ I reject you, I deny you, I defy you to continue” on the back. Good ol days and yes best LoG album. In my opinion.
Richard, show him The Fog by Black Dahlia Murder… that whole interlude around the guitar solo where it plays Harmonic minor then switches to a major key is so brilliantly composed. Surely, Judson will get a kick out of that!
Lamb of God is just Legendary at this point, it is definetely difficult to give someone a starting point to get into them. I started with Ashes of the Wake but went back to New American Gospel and loved it.
woooo nice surprise!!! i was obsessed with LoG back in high school and Chris Adler is one of the main reasons i picked up the Drums :) and i'm so glad that you chose one of their first 4 albums. (i dislike their newer ones. yes even Wrath)
I remember my homie pulling up to my hs bands show with the promo copy of this album a week before it came out (that the record stores aren’t supposed to sell) and it absolutely blew my face off. I liked New American Gospel but Palaces was next level. And Vigil is a fucking banger the way it just keeps building is just genius. Best way to end their best album.
Judson will often say, "yeah, that's cool.." when he starts picking up what the band is doing, but doesn't elaborate why he thinks something is cool. As an aspiring musician myself it'd be nice to have him put voice to thought and provide more analysis and breakdown the what's and how's in these songs.
I’m a die hard l.o.g fan. Vigil is a great song. 11th hour is my person fav on this album. I like how you did hourglass on the ashes. The faded line or blood of the scribe would have done the trick as well.
I think Dessiderium - mother would be a fun one for Judson. Also would love to see him check out kardashev! And cynic Good stuff as always. Like the Richard cam continuing too. Great contrast in how y’all take it in haha.
Judson: "Does Celine like it?" Richard: (Ignores and keeps on chatting away) Lol Also never heard this LOG song before it's sick love that opening heavy riff very Black Sabbath for sure! \m/
heavy music...? then please don´t forget obituary or autopsy.... and, beyond all heavyness, a wooooonderful suggestion comes to my mind...: MY DYING BRIDE !!! thank you both a lot! :-)
The lyrics in this song really drive it home for me. They make me think of AIPAC.. I ugh mean our government too. Do Reclamation soon plz. That's my personal LOG favorite.
Richard: For those of us who don't know Metal; Can you tell the Name of the Band on the shirts you wear? I can never make it out due to the crazy fonts.
I always loved this song and album!🤘🏻👍🏻 I may be the minority but I actually prefer the original release of this album instead of the remastered version. I play guitar so I prefer the loud guitars vs the guitar being dropped down in the mix and the bass guitar and drums being brought up. I know, typical guitar player shit.😂
you're not alone in this. altho i'll be honest for some of the songs i don't mind the remastered version too much. (like 11th hour) but for example 'Blood Junkie' (underrated track) sound Sooo much better in the original release, i can't listen to it in any other way
Okay Richard... with your explanation in the video, you kind of get away with this one ;) - Terror And Hubris In The House of Frank Pollard is my personal favorite. Groove metal rocks anyhow! You prob do a song from Mudvayne next (Dig, Not Falling, Forgot to Remember, World So Cold?), once you are getting into this vibe again..
I’ve been torn on where to start with Mudvayne. I’ve been leaning towards Severed but I get the vibe from some comments that I shouldn’t begin with that one. Hit me with some logic in this.
@@Greatmeasures Well, if you want to introduce Mudvayne to Judson, why not do it in fashion? We first met them when they had there face paint on, so the original videoclip for Dig would be a great start. Then the follow-up would be either Death Blooms (also a hit single from the first record L.D. 50) or you could move on to their next album and present Mudvayne with makeup, but not as much and not outside of their videoclips anymore, in the clip for Not Falling (The End Of All Things To Come). Personally I like their album Lost And Found best. Songs like Happy?, Rain. Sun. Gone. and IMN are very dark though. Thing is, that Mudvayne did not have a very long run or had a very diverse career as they went along. Eventually their emotions shifted and they couldn't perform together any longer. And of course this band Hellyeah came along. And then they had a 12 year hiatus or something (?) supposedly they are back, but I am not following them currently.
@@sjorsvandongen3464 very logical. If I was going to show him Mudvayne without a music video, where should I start? We’re learning the hard way that if we include music videos, our video is probably getting blocked.
I forgot how fucking savage this band is. Fucking hell this dude needs to cover some lamb of god on piano and release them as songs. When someone like this makes covers of metal on piano it changes it completely
Hey man just discovered this channel and watched a couple of your videos. I have to say for exactly this type of reaction, the Song "Recharging the Void" by Vektor would fit perfectly. Please do check it out =)
Yeah its harsh. If you have trouble with it, forget its a human singing, it's just another sound that blends in and adds a layer to the melodie/harmonie, it can also be more of a percussion just like guitars tends be in this style of music.
Dude, he turned around and gave the melody.. I got chills from that. Hats off to you mister piano player. 👍
I like how Richard just blows past the fact that Judsong said "my mother was a fish" 😂
😂😂😂
Its a William Faulkner reference…Richard doesnt know how to read.
@@judsong😂
@@judsong that makes sense
As the palaces burn is their greatest album in my opinion.
I completely agree from top to bottom this album is insanely great.
Fuck. Yes.
Ashes of the wake though!
Ashes of the Wake for me. But as the palaces burn is sick for sure 🤘
I love it, personally Wrath is my favourite.

My favourite band in the world, by a country mile. Love everything they have ever done and my favourite live band. Thanks for the reaction. 👍🤘🤘❤❤❤
damn hearing that intro on piano gave me mad chills! awesome reaction vid!! they have alot of great songs but this is probably my favorite Lamb of God song..
Totally a good starting point!
I would love to hear a piano version of this album. Would be amazing

love the extra cam on richard added to the video

When you start giggling as he begins playing the intro flawlessly 😂😂 Some musicians are so talented it’s ridiculous.
Daamn, I've been looking for reactions to this song! My favorite song of theirs, such an overlooked burner.
The first time i heard Lamb of God was a live video of them playing Black label, that was in 2005 and ive been a fan ever since
One my all time favorite drummers.. wish Chris was still with the band
Same, Art is holding it down, but Chris's style was so damn tasty and a major factor in the songwriting. When I saw that Mike Portnoy got back with Dream Theater I now have hope that Chris could one day come back.
Keep the dual camera. Nice touch.
God damn it Judson, you never cease to amaze. Good song choice for a first listen, progressive but covers all of their bases. My favourite off that album for sure.
Surprised he knew the Faulkner novel haha. Good shit Judson, southern goth.
Vigil kicks ass and is a great first song by LoG!

Hands down my favourite LoG track .. it's got a bit of everything :)
Otis the great! ❤
FUCKING YES! Great song choice. Laid to Rest next. 😉
Judson's rendition at the end was awesome.
This one is really on the list, especially the remastered rerecorded version.
If there was ever going to be a collab an acoustic version was be great.

Devin Townsend did an amazing job producing that record. Randy’s vocals sounded so perfect on that record.
