Last January I went on a tag making marathon for about a month. I ended up with 12 sets of 12 different tags. I popped them in a box and waited for this Thanksgiving. I wanted to give them out at Thanksgiving to friends and family so that they had them in time to use for the holidays. Each of my guests received a gift bag with a set of tags and a sweet treat. I love that it was a handmade unique gift that is also consumable for those adults in our life that have everything. 🙂
I’m really enjoying making tags too. We reuse tags I made when the kids were young on the years we go to the mountains. Each tag has a line from a Christmas carol on it. They had to sing part of the song before opening the gift! So,times they groaned as teenagers will. The tags hung on the tree until we had to pack up and go home.
I have a large tag die and after Christmas last year, I used it on many of the Christmas cards I'd received. So this year, I was pleasantly surprised (I forget easily....sometimes) to find these great tags already for a new purpose this year! The large tag die is cool and repurposing Christmas cards was fun...AND easy!
I love this! I love making tags. Sometimes instead of a Christmas card, I send my friends a pack of homemade tags because then they get some use out of it. Some of my girlfriends are so creative - they use the tags for place settings, to decorate their cubbies at work, they laminate them for bookmarks when giving books as a gift, so giving tags is a wonderful thing. Thank you for this video.
I just made 20 Christmas tags for my daughter to add to the cookies she will wrap for her coworkers. I added glitter dots and white highlights to an evergreen background. Now to tackle some for me to use.
Beautiful tag!! We always reuse tags unless someone goes nuts and the tag has seen better days! If I am pressed for time, I have used stickers to make a fast tag. 🎄
Cathy: Always enjoy your videos. This year I'm using tags to make bookmarks that match the holiday cards I'm making. Will write a little personal message on the back. Yes, there are still a few of us that prefer to hold a book, rather than read electronically! Wishing you and your family h happy holiday season.
I love making tags, too. After Christmas, I buy marked down rolls of paper, then use the blank side to decorate for the occasion to create wrapping paper. Although, I mostly use reusable bags these days and tags are perfect for them.
Love tags! When I watched your video using the die cutting machine I tried to tell you to push those platforms in! You couldn't hear me. I had just watched Gina's video.
Ha! We re-use our favorite tags in our nuclear family all the time! Usually by the time I’m done wrapping presents (u know, during an all-nighter Christmas Eve, because sadly, that’s how I roll), I don’t have the bandwidth to write fun tags. Love this tag! I ordered this stamp set after Kristina used it in her Christmas series. It’s a fun tree!
A couple of years ago (2019??) Hero Arts did a tag kit for the MMH and it’s my favorite to use. I’m thinking that this tree stamp might actually fit in that tree die nicely. 🤔 I also love stamping and coloring on Kraft or solid white wrapping paper to make my own. It’s great for smaller packages, but not anything too big. TFS!
Hi, Cathy! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! I love the layered tree stamp - so simple but looks like it took a lot of time to make. I guess if we count the dry time of the ink, that could be true! 😊
I love watching your videos, it makes me feel like I am crafting with a friend. In one of your videos you shared how you store your foam squares and although I searched many of your videos I cannot find it. Can you please let me know where you got the box/holder you use? Thank you
Love this tag…haven’t made them in years…but guess what…..I’m gonna b making them again now! Can u please send me a link or tell me the name of the tag die? Tks….love following 👍
