You might want to start playing an anime fighter with simpler inputs if you don't play much 2D fighters in general. There's going to be a lot of time between now and whenever ArcSys releases P5A.
@David_Rigdon Yeah, I know. BBTag having ONLY quarter-circles and no shoryu-motions blew my mind in a "Why has nobody ever done this before?!" way. Plus the now standard ArcSys universal overheads, sweeps, and DPs. And a command list more transparent than most fighting games in the same generation. But regardless of how simplified ArcSys went with BBTag's core mechanics, I have a hard time recommending any Tag-type fighter to pure beginners.
Actually, I believe there is no problem in starting with P4A, characters like MINAZUKI and Narukami have pretty simple BnBs anyone can learn, pair that with very few complex inputs and you've got a pretty beginner friendly game.
