@@petertak7520 I am a Nightwish from the start and no one will ever fully replace Tarja however Floor is just the more complete singer. Tarja always sings the same style and knocks it out the park. Floor on the other hand can go from operatic to contemporary to growling and back again.
@@Morrodin-WH40K Yeah. Tarja can definitelly go higher. Higher than almost anyone. She has more control at the very highs than 99.99998% of the population (only about 1600 of us all can). But that's most of what she can do. Floor, while not as focused on being one of the best is all around great. She fits modern Nightwish far better.
@@billytaylor4498 I'm a Floor fan since After Forever times, but she doesn't bring that much power into those high registers as Tarja. Tarja's high note is fuller than most.
Oh, there's more... As you get into the male metal vocalists, you'll see there's a whole genre of powerhouses out there, Ronnie Dio (RIP), Bruce Dickinson, Eric Adams, Geoff Tate, André Matos (RIP), Michael Kiske, Hansi Kürsch, Fabio Lione, Tobias Sammet, Jorn Lande and many others... P.s. There is Marko solo work, too.
And I absolutely disagree. Tarja is less Christine and more Carlotta here. The song is supposed to be sung from the perspective of a, once resigned/burnt out but now regaining passion, young girl barely entering adulthood who just entered the opera life(and has had her love for singing rekindled by the Phantom). Tarja's attempt is more along the lines of the old, experienced opera singer who knows she's going to deliver a stellar performance and does. It's not how the character is meant, so... Not the way it was meant to be sung.
Not anywhere near. Ramin and Sierra are a level above this. Marco is absolutely not up to the par to sing Phantom here, Ramin makes him seem like he has never sung in his life.
Oh. Yeah... Sure. You have zero idea what the story of the original book or the ALW musical is, do you? The name Christine doesn't even ring a bell? Because if it did, you wouldn't be claiming a strong, operatic, dramatic, deliberate, controlled voice is "the perfect fit for this song".
@@LongandWeirdName Grow up, you don't have to be mean to prove your point. Yes , I'm aware of Christine and the whole musical behind it, even have read the book. The thing that I prefer Tarja's voice for this song is the matter of taste, chillax ....
This is the best version of this song for me. They are no longer in Nightwish but they are going to sing together in a show this year, it will be very cool to watch.
Warning, that is not true most likely! Marko has given an interview to Chaoszine very recently and stated that that is a PR stunt by the festival organisers that neither he nor Tarja were asked to consent to. They will both be there with their own bands, not together. It remains to be seen if they feel up to doing brief appearances for each other, but he said not to get your hopes up for now. Also, it is totally worth seeing Marko solo without Tarja too! I saw him last month on the day when he gave that interview and it was glorious. his vocals, the band & music were great and he seemed much happier & healthier than he has in many years in Nightwish.
Tarja sings operatically in all the early Nightwish albums. Anette is definitely more on the pop side of things. I think you will enjoy more of Tarja in the early days of Nightwish. There are some live performances like Wishmaster and Swanheart that are so good, definitely worth checking out.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu Yeah, it´s definitely operatic style but certainly not strictly operatic as in an opera singer. I´m no expert but it makes sense what you mentioned.
I concur on the Swanheart. That is a very beatiful song and can't imagine it being sung by anyone else but Tarja (until I hear it by Floor and I'd probably accept that as well). But yea, this was the style Tarja sings in for Nightwish, her classical training shows in her other stuff as well, Tarja singing Muse - Supremacy was quite fun as well for example.
Yellow mic, yellow coat - she had various coloured mics to match her outfits! Even one to match her eyes! Marko is a beastly Phantom! Goes with the heavier arrangement so well! Yes, Jack Sparrow on Tuomas' keyboard - resemblance? ALW heard this and likes it! Emppu's "trilly bits" at the end too! Plenty of Tarja recommendations already, "Swanheart", "Pharoah Sails To Orion".... For - Anette "Slow, Love, Slow" live at Montreux, 2012! or "Scaretale" with more Marko madness!
I have listened to this song (exactly this video) for years and years and it always makes me chill and cry. It is so divine, so unbelievable. That can't be normal
This is always a treat seeing people discovering Nightwish, this awesome music envigorating the heart, mind, and soul! Your reactions are a joy to see a kindred spirit for music. For some other Tarja songs, I would always suggest Bless the Child & Nemo, very moving pieces of music for me. I would just say you need to hear everything lol, but you have had a great intro to the band and can easily find your way through their beauty.
Tarja (pronounced like Tar-ya...with rolled R) always used more or less operatic voice, and that was the thing which hooked me since first few seconds I heard them in 1998. But she has said that she needed to find her own way to sing with Nightwish, because she didn't want to sound too operatic (like she had potato in her mouth). If you are interested you can listen to her singing "Vilja Lied" or "Mein Herr Marquis" to hear her in full opera mode...just to hear the difference.
Great reaction, thanks! Tarja (pronounced something like Tar-yah), Annette (pronounced something like An-et-eh), and Floor (pronounced something like, well, Floor) all have different styles and each have songs that will be forever theirs. Tarja has the most operatic voice and you just heard one of her most iconic songs. I might also recommend "Wishmaster." Annette has the most 'poppy' sound and didn't have the greatest stage presence compared to Tarja or Floor. I would suggest the music video of "Amaranth" for her. Of course you already know Floor. I would suggest anything she has done. I am really enjoying your reactions. Keep up the good work!
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu That's good. She is a great singer. I just think, based on what I've seen, she was a little less comfortable on stage than the other two singers. Sorry about the misspelling. Noted.
A couple more great studio songs with Annette are Bye Bye Beautiful, Storytime, and Scaretale. The last two are fun videos from their Imaginaerum movie.
wasn't stage presence that was Anette's problem it was vocal consistency across multiple shows in a tour. One night she would be near perfect the next she would be near vomit bad. She was working her voice in the extremes when singing the songs meant for Tarja and couldn't do it night after night. This is why there isn't a lot of particularly good live music from her era. The songs written for her in mind are great including the live performances of them. They sound different to what the newer fans expect having heard Floor's versions mostly but of course they would, her tone and her sound overall is totally different to the other two lead singers and when she was picked as lead this was a huge factor in her being chosen. As with Tarja there are a few songs that I still prefer her versions of over Floor but I am a longtime fan of Nightwish and went through the lineup changes with them so to speak!
I first became a fan When Tarja was the lead vocalist back in 1999. Slaying the Dreamer and Sleeping sun both from the End of an Era concert the same as this are both great as well. I have the DVD and almost the whole concert was great.
Another great one with Marko is the live version of "The Islander", and one of my favorites from the early days with Tarja is the live version of "Deep Silent Complete". Both are definitely worth checking out!
This performance was 2005 in Helsinki's Hartwall arena. The last Nightwish show with Tarja, who is the most operatic of the 3 lead singers. After the concert, the guys gave her an open letter dismissing her from the band after 5 albums and 9 years. She has gone on to a long and successful solo career. This was song #5 in an 18 song set. Tuomas did the arrangement of this Andrew Lloyd Weber classic. Mr. Weber loved this version. The Jack Sparrow doll was ,I believe , a gift from a fan. And I think it was the crew that decided the front of the keyboard stand was a good place to put it. lol For Tarja on a Nightwish song try more from this show; The Siren, Wishmaster, Planet Hell, Sleeping Sun, and Nemo. And since you obviously enjoyed Marko singing, try the song from this show he sang lead on, their cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's High Hopes. Anette has more of a pop/rock style. She was great in studio, but not many good lives with her. A good start for her is the music video for Amaranth. One of her few good lives is Slow Love Slow at 2012 Montreux jazz festival.
Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen and Tarja Turunen
Too me, the Phantom Is The mysterious, but menacing "thing" in the opera that became infatuated with Christine. This arrangement & Marko's vocals bring out that gritty, menacing Phantom that is needed for the character, not the "clean & polished" Broadway Phantom that we normally get.
A fantastic performance by both Tarja and Marco. However, many forget the brain behind it all. Tuomas Holopainen. The man who re-composes the songs they "borrow" to fit into the Nightwish costume
There are a handful of music videos with songs that are considered "Anettes songs", but i can honestly say that there are not alot of live performances on youtube with her. The best one i thought i found once, turned out to be playback. Anette had a really good concert with Nightwish Live in Hamburg Germany 2012,but that entire concert is cellphone recorded,so im not sure its reaction worthy because of the sound quality. But i guess you could try this theese ones at some point, the video quality is very good: Nightwish - Song Of Myself Live Montreux Jazz Festival (2012) Nightwish (Anette Olzon) - Amaranth live Lowlands 2008. Amaranth is Anettes most famous song during her era in Nightwish. Can you spot who Tuomas has in front of his keyboard here? Tuomas smirked when people asked if the Wacken Open Air 2013 keyboard look was Game Of Thrones inspired? He tends to do things like that on purpose, and by watching this live with Anette you will figure out who his favourite actor is,and who fans has in many ways "petnamed" him as. Nightwish (Anette Olzon) - Wishmaster live Lowlands 2008 Tarja songs i recommend? Nightwish - Nemo (LIVE) It is theyr biggest hit to date, and Tarja was the one that put them on the map with her at the time, standalone soprano dramatic vocals. Nightwish - Bless The Child (End Of An Era DVD) [HD] One of theyr earliest hits, everyone in the band looked super young. Tarja looks stunning here! Oh wait, just so im not being called a hater or a zombie towards Anette again, you owe it to yourself to hear this song by Anette before you do a final judgement of her as a vocalist. There is no live performance (with good enough quality),or a music video for this, but Anette shines in this song: Nightwish-Meadows of heaven.

it's a top notch performance,, long ago i was involved with a Phantom production so when i ran across this on u Tube i gave it a try,,HOLY $%%&&^^% BATMAN!!! This performance started my Nightwish journey. your "scrunchy" face said it all!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
I wonder how much of that voice is training and how much is raw talent. Hitting those high notes like she does, especially sustaining them is difficult to teach. I love when she throws her head back after that last high note at the end. That's like her signature move. She does it during The Siren too I think.
This was Tarja's last show with the band, at the end of this recital, she was fired... You can also hear Marco in the songs: Planet Hell, Ever dream (choirs), The Siren, High Hopes(lead vocal), Slaying the dreamer (choirs) and Wish i had an angel...saludos desde Argentina
Tarja.. for us Americans and Canadians, I'd suggest pronouncing it Tar-i-ah. For more with Tarja, I suggest looking into 'Sleeping Sun', 'Wishmaster', 'Wish I Had an Angel', 'Bless The Child', 'Walking In The Air', 'Dark Chest of Wonders', 'Nemo', 'Planet Hell', '10th Man Down'. Note that Floor has also done live versions of many of those. Anette's less operatic than the other two singers. There's songs like 'Bye Bye Beautiful',(though it was sorta written as a last goodbye to Tarja), 'Amaranth', 'Eva', 'Sahara', 'Slow, Love, Slow'.
This rendition kicks ass so damn hard. Reactors usually come here as an introduction to Tarja, but just end up being totally shocked by Marko. It's hilarious 😂😂😂😢 Marko is the way the Phantom SHOULD be. He's the best
Yeeeessss!!!!! This is the song that put the Nightwish name in my mind 20 years ago. I lost track, then rediscovered them last summer, and now they are in my heart. Can't wait!!
This is my favorite Phantom. Tarja is beautiful here, but Marco made it really special. I miss him a lot, especially his skills singing in duet. If you want more of his solo works, listen to High Hopes, the Islander and While your lips are still red.
This was from the End of an Era tour. Which is the last time all of the original band members were together. At the current time the only two original members are Toumas and Emppu
I really like floor and comparing these two is impossible replacing tarja they did a great job but tarja is goddess mode and she lead this style you get the amy Lee's, Cristina scabbia and elize ryd from her
I love Floor, but i also love the good old Nightwish era with Tarja. I heared them for the first time in '97 and i loved Tarjas voice from first time hearing! My first song was Angels falls first, i'm sure you would like this song too but you can hear the album version for yourself if you want, i think there is no live video. But this is such a beautiful song! Also the song Beauty of the beast, but there is a good live version with Tarja from 2002 i think, but i'm not sure maybe 2004. I like your Nightwish reactions! They are always funny and i enjoy them! You are always so nice and i really like it to see when you like the same songs what i like. I wish you a happy Easter 🥚 weekend! Bye! 🖤🤘

Eles não apenas cantaram, eles representaram a peça toda. Quando um estava na cabeça do outro eles agiam iguais. Essa é a melhor representação de música já vista.
Showing up early for a front row seat. I brought a pair of sterile gloves so I can help re-set any jaw-dislocations Rachel may suffer during this one. She is soooo not ready.
The man behind the keyboard is Tuomas (sp?), he is a absolute genius as he writes all the music for Nightwish, the music and lyrics. He is absolutely amazing. The singer here is their first singer named Tarja, not Tanya, and she was amazing and also has a solo career now, her solo stuff is amazing too
Nightwish was created as a symphonic metal band with a female operatic lead vocal. So basically all of the Tarja's era songs are operatic or they have a male lead vocal that contrast s with Tarja's voice. That was the recipe. Moving the goalpost later after Tarja is gone does not make her singing invalid. She played her musical part in the symphony.
Just a small nitpick. Nightwish was created as an acoustic folk band with a female lead, but Tarja’s voice was too “powerful” for that so Tuomas wrote songs that would be classified as “symphonic metal” to accommodate her timbre. Quite a full circle moment now with Floor and Troy that Nightwish’s folky roots are getting incorporated more into the band’s music.
@@OrdinaryCritic I guess neither of you have listened to early Nightwish since they were practically power metal with goth influences. Although Angels Fall First is certainly a bit folk.
@@RandallHidalgoS21allas96 , I guess, you just proved my point that Nightwish was created as a folk band. Semantics, I meant power metal, the term just slipped my mind when I made the comment. My bad.
Annette is a very different style of singer to Tarja and Floor. A lot of people generally compare her unfavourably to the other two, but when a song is written specifically for her her she really shines. IMHO her best live performance is Slow, Love, Slow at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Slow love slow fits her perfectly, but im not sure I agree with the rest, she always sounded like she was struggling to sign the songs that were written for her, she was alright in the studio but she could never reproduce it live
@Cr Hu I agree meadows of heaven is spectacular, but her versions of storytime and last ride of the day lack the punch that floor gives to them in my opinion
This is the one and only right version of NW -versions. And so awesome. The female singer is Tarja - the original and founding member of NW. Male singer is Marco who also left the band unfortunately so therefore this performance is a jewel !!! They do act the roles of Phantom and Christine so well.
Tarja, Annette and Floor all bring a different style to their vocals. I find myself liking different versions of love songs regardless of who is singing. The music is what's important. But I have to agree the chemistry between Tarja and Marco in this one was very emotional.
Unfortunately, this is also where it all ended. Right after this concert, they fired Tarja. I was there, in that very concert and witnessed everything. The news frenzy and all. There can be no replacement to Tarja. Floor Jansen is a different singer with different capabilities, but in my opinion, no-one can sing Nightwish songs like Tarja do. After all, all the original songs were made for her and her voice.
@@toweri_li yes I know, I have been a big fan of Nightwish since the early days and liked Tarja so much; I actually stopped following them when they hired Annette she just wasn’t the right one. I came back when Floor joined them as I knew of her from the other bands she was in; to me if Tarja wasn’t for Tuomas then Floor was the right one. Simone would’ve been a great choice also but she would never leave Epica.
@@toweri_li _"There can be no replacement to Tarja."_ Just as there can be no replacement for Anette, or Floor, or Jukka, or Marko... Nobody is replaceable, but there is only _one_ person who is the core of Nightwish, without whom it wouldn't be NW anymore, and that's Tuomas. Tarja has been _succeeded,_ and very successfully so.
@@toweri_li yes, it depends on what songs actually. The ones written for Tarja (like Wishmaster, She is my sin etc.) are best fit to her voice. The ones like The Greatest Show on Earth are made for Floor and they have their own charm.
I would really like to see you check out some of Tarjas post-Nightwish solo stuff, the first song that springs to mind is her cover of Muses song Supremacy, just a heads up if you do check that one out though, do not have any wine glasses in the room or chances are they might break :P
Tarja was always singing operatic style, that in the end was the thing that made Nightwish so special in the beginning. As one of my absolute favorite i would suggest : Nightwish - Swanheart 🎶 From Wishes To Eternity 🎶 Remastered th-cam.com/video/R5H_x-00wmU/w-d-xo.html totally underrated, i guess because it has never been sung by Floor, and the kids of today only know her. Especially the end when Tarja sings in duet with Emppus guitar, thats just pure magic 😍😍
2:30-2:45 - That right there. That's the thing that delights me about watching reactions to this performance. Also, Tonya! 😂🤣 For more of her, maybe check out her version of "Ghost Love Score." She has several other great tracks from the same concert as Phantom (the DVD was titled "End of an Era" as it was her last show with the band.) "Wishmaster," "Slaying the Dreamer," "Nemo," or "Over the Hills and Far Away" could be fun possible reactions to get more acquainted with -Tarja's- Tonya's style and talents. As for Anette, I forever recommend her performance of "Sleeping Sun" at Rock Werchter 2008. I also kind of like her renditions of "The Siren" and "Dead to the World." Unfortunately I have to say I mostly like her studio performances over her live stuff. She had a tendency to sacrifice breath control in favor of stage presence, which made for some high energy and engaging performances, but sometimes left a little to be desired in terms of execution. She was great in studio though, when she was allowed to stand still and give all of her attention to just singing. Maybe check out the music videos for "Amaranth," "Bye Bye Beautiful," or "Storytime" to get a sense of her studio-recorded performances.
Caution: wall of text! Hello Ray. Thanks for your great reaction! The version you commented is from the last performance of Tarja and Nightwish together. That same evening, after the concert, Tarja received a letter telling her that the journey together was over. That was a shock for many fans of the band and even brought tears to my eyes. With Annette they then tried to continue the success of Nightwish, which unfortunately wasn't well received by the fans in the live performance. Imaginaerum was a strong album, in my opinion, with a good story and the Nightwish film also showed what the idea of the album was. At the time, however, I noticed that the warm togetherness on stage that I knew from earlier days was no longer there. I no longer felt the joy of rocking the stage together until… Wacken 2013 (you had already commented on 2 videos) Nightwish came on stage with none other than Floor "The Valkyrie" Jansen. Previously, Nightwish had announced that they had separated from Annette by mutual agreement because they just didn't fit together. ...and there she was: Floor Jansen, and it was pure joy. I already knew Floor from bands like After Forever, Star One (Ayreon) and ReVamp. You could really feel the lust, the joy and the magic returning to the stage. Jokes were made again on stage and there was smiles. The feeling of family was back. And Tarja has also made her way and become a great solo artist. I like her music, even went to 2 of her concerts in the last 6 months. Unfortunately, I don't listen to Nightwish that much anymore. The lyrics have become too one-sided for me. But what I actually wanted to say…. If you want to hear Marko sing a little more you can watch this: th-cam.com/video/K6PjccnQj1E/w-d-xo.html And because you said you'd like to hear Tarja when she doesn't sing (as much) classically, I recommend this: th-cam.com/video/Lq-genEQNLA/w-d-xo.html We apologize for the wall of text
React to "The Siren". Same concert with Tarja. She plays with her voice in an amazing way. Many people say that Tarja is "just operatic". But they are totally wrong. Have a great day! 😊
Realy cool Video. I love Nightwish and this Version of this Song, but the Version from the Battles of "The Voice of Germany 2023" is the best Version I've ever heard. ❤❤❤
"That face" is called either Stinkface or Stankface...it ranks just above goosebumps on the "Involuntary Bodily Reactions To Greatness" scale. It's also a sure-fire sign that a performer (especially a guitarist) is totally feeling what they are playing.
High Hopes from the same concert is a great taste of Marko as a singer as well. Though the usual like The Islander are great too/ Not so fun fact, she was fired after this show. There was tension brewing for a long while but in a way this was a farewell concert without her knowledge.
My understanding is that she had talked about planning to leave the band a year later, but Tuomas and the guys decided they wanted to rip the band-aid off early. I may have misunderstood though, or I may be misremembering details from so many years ago.
All three of Nightwish's singers are very talented and have all brought their own unique style and expertise to the band. I was introduced to the band during Anette's era and the Dark Passion Play album remains one of my favorites to this day. I think she's typically attributed as having a bit more of a "pop" sound compared to Tarja's and Floor's more classical / operatic singing. Hope we can see a reaction to The Poet and the Pendulum (official live)!
I would love to see you react to other End of an Era concert songs like Wishmaster or The Siren or Planet Hell etc. There are millions of Floor reactions in the internet. I think we should give some love to Tarja as well :-)
@@AliusScitmelius I would generally recommend End of an Era show because it’s more famous and easy to find on youtube. However there are other great recordings. The 2002 “Beauty and the Beast” performance where she sings with the guy from Sonata Arctica is probably my favourite from Tarja’s time :-)
Something to note, if you didn't catch it at first listen. Though Tarja has a beautiful operatic voice, during some of the phrases Marco is actually taking the higher harmony and coming in above her. That man is amazing.
Since Tarja was kicked out of the band after this performance, you may find it to explore her solo career. The duet she dings with Sharon and Within Temptation on "Paradise What About US" Is also really good.
Floor is great! But, this is pure OLD Nightwish and Marko absolutely shines!

Yes, I agree
And I absolutely disagree. Tarja is less Christine and more Carlotta here. The song is supposed to be sung from the perspective of a, once resigned/burnt out but now regaining passion, young girl barely entering adulthood who just entered the opera life(and has had her love for singing rekindled by the Phantom). Tarja's attempt is more along the lines of the old, experienced opera singer who knows she's going to deliver a stellar performance and does. It's not how the character is meant, so... Tarja and Marko are just flawless together.

This is the solid metal version. With Marko gone, never to be performed live by NW like this again

@@LongandWeirdName daddy, chill...
The contrast and combination of their different styles and voices is so amazing ❤
Even Andrew Lloyd Weber gave his seal of approval on this version of the song. Said it was one of the best renditions he heard.
Yeah but Andrew Lloyd Weber never got Pink FLoyd's seal of approval for copying Echoes.
10th man down, Pharaoh sails to Orion, She is my sin, End of all hope, Wishmaster.... ☺️
Ye Tarja the Nightwish queen.
You can hear every song to this show, all them are amazing.
Nice reaction, This is the best version...(my opinion)
🇸🇪
@@merileopardisaksassa7030 yeah I watched that it was just a fake news
It happened! Marko and Tarja performed Phantom together.
Tarja sings operatically in all the early Nightwish albums. Anette is definitely more on the pop side of things. I think you will enjoy more of Tarja in the early days of Nightwish. There are some live performances like Wishmaster and Swanheart that are so good, definitely worth checking out.
Tarja was/is pretty clear that she has never had any operatic training, that she’s 100% classical.
"Sleeping sun" specially for here.
With Tarja, Wishmaster and Sleeping sun are a must have. With Anette, i think Bye-bye beautifull or Last ride of the day is great.
This is the greatest concert of all time ❤ i ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT
This is my favorite of version of this song. I would also recommend Tarja and Marko's performance of The Siren from this same concert.
it`s Tarja(but we also have Tanja in finland), she is original singer 😀
Annette is prononced Ann-net, not An-et-eh
Anette (only one n) was pretty good when I saw her with the band. The crowd was super responsive to her and cheered for her specifically.
Great reaction 🤩👍
I love how you instantly blushed when Marco started singing... like all of us
Even Andrew Lloyd Webber himself has said that this was his favorite version of his composition ...
Oh cool, where did he say that? I'd love to see him talking about it
@@herpyderpy4366 Just Google: Does Andrew Lloyd Webber like Nightwish?
Marko, we miss you, we love that you're happy, but dammit we miss you.
I concur 🥺
Oh heck yes, I can't wait to see this reaction... I adore Floor but this is performance is magic!
I agree
If we were to decide which one is better, I would pick this one every time.
And I think it was the crew that decided the front of the keyboard stand was a good place to put it. lol
For Tarja on a Nightwish song try more from this show; The Siren, Wishmaster, Planet Hell, Sleeping Sun, and Nemo.
Walking in the air - live. Tarja has beautiful vocals in that piece
Agreed!! The live one from the From Wishes to Eternity concert DVD is beautiful!
‚Swanheart‘ and ‚Dead Boys Poem‘ too..🤘🏻
Best version. In fact, the only version I ever want to hear again. If only they had done the whole thing!
Flabbergasted. That’s the word your face was searching for at the end of the video. 😉
Too me, the Phantom Is The mysterious, but menacing "thing" in the opera that became infatuated with Christine. This arrangement & Marko's vocals bring out that gritty, menacing Phantom that is needed for the character, not the "clean & polished" Broadway Phantom that we normally get.
... Or what we get with Floor and Henk.
No one plays a deranged sewer dweller like Marko!
Or London stage Phantom (Brit here)! That's where I saw it years ago.
ALL the songs of Nightwish in the Tarja´s Era were operatic, majestic
Wishmaster from same concert
Wish I Had an Angel official video (she's gorgeous) Marko again is prominent
Bless the Child
❤All her songs are operatic.
But i guess you could try this theese ones at some point, the video quality is very good: Nightwish - Song Of Myself Live Montreux Jazz Festival (2012)
Nightwish (Anette Olzon) - Amaranth live Lowlands 2008.
Nightwish (Anette Olzon) - Wishmaster live Lowlands 2008
Tarja songs i recommend?
Oooo.... did someone ask suggestions? Heh, heh, heh... yeah... got some.

it's a top notch performance,, long ago i was involved with a Phantom production so when i ran across this on u Tube i gave it a try,,HOLY $%%&&^^% BATMAN!!! This performance started my Nightwish journey. your "scrunchy" face said it all!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Kinda cute how you are giggling and going nuts over Marko. x))
Thank you for this, I needed this bright spot in a “rainy” day ❤
I wonder how much of that voice is training and how much is raw talent.
Hitting those high notes like she does, especially sustaining them is difficult to teach.
I love when she throws her head back after that last high note at the end. That's like her signature move. She does it during The Siren too I think.
Knew this would be the next one after Ever dream, cant wait to see your reaction
Anette "Meadows of Heaven" studio version is great.
The 2005 End of an Era concert was Tarja's last performance with the band. It was truly the "End of an Era'.
I ❤ "Slow, Love, Slow" sung by Anette at Montreux Jazz Festival 2012. Completely different style.
This is my favorite Phantom. Tarja is beautiful here, but Marco made it really special. I miss him a lot, especially his skills singing in duet.
If you want more of his solo works, listen to High Hopes, the Islander and While your lips are still red.
Tarja is less of a Christine and more of a Carlotta here. His Erik/Phantom is perfect, though. That much is right.
LOL.
The thing that i love from this video , that is about 2004/2005, and no phone in the crowd, everyone enjoy the feelings of a live concert..
Bye! 🖤🤘
You are very quickly becoming one of my favorite TH-cam reactor!! ❤❤❤
Thank you! :)
I feel that this version is the closest to what Andrew Lloyd Webber intended, of all the versions I have heard.
He has said that this was his favourite version. He is a Rock-guy after all
I heard that Webber endorsed this version as his favorite. Of course, I had only read this on one of the other reaction channels, so don't quote me.
Fun side fact. In recent years she had been a coach on Finland’s version of the voice and Marco recently won Finland’s version of the masked singer
if you really want hard dark spell-binding Tarja (and Marko too) with Nightwish:
(even some Tarja rocking on invisible guitar, head windmills, and etc theatrics too)

One can't help but marvel at Marko achieving David Lee Roth levels of howling while absolutely wailing on the bass guitar 😁
Right! He gets me every timmmme!
Eles não apenas cantaram, eles representaram a peça toda. Quando um estava na cabeça do outro eles agiam iguais. Essa é a melhor representação de música já vista.
Every nightwish Vocalists are special, the Anette Olsen era is something to checkout 😊
Anette is a good singer but she had aiways a lots of sand in her ass, Shes always a bully...brat

Great reaction! Your excitement makes the channel.
heh, I can imagine that spam with correct name))) But it was fun reaction, especially the intro))
It's so good! They should make a new movie with this type of music. It has so much power behind it!
The man behind the keyboard is Tuomas (sp?), he is a absolute genius as he writes all the music for Nightwish, the music and lyrics. He is absolutely amazing. The singer here is their first singer named Tarja, not Tanya, and she was amazing and also has a solo career now, her solo stuff is amazing too
Tarja Turunen ❤️❤️❤️
Finally all thee CDs 20y ago payed off, now i can go and 'nod along' ... feeling like the man ngl
My bad.
Yeah more Tarja, one early super hit was "Walking in the air" cover song, amazing live version. Check out.
I concur!
Meadows of Heaven studio version is flawless genius. And her studio Storytime is a little more true to the lyrics I would say.
@Cr Hu I agree meadows of heaven is spectacular, but her versions of storytime and last ride of the day lack the punch that floor gives to them in my opinion
Scaretale is also one of my personal favorites, and yes, I prefer the version with Annette over Floor.
Much as I adore Floor this is where it all started for me, and I don’t think that this performance has ever been bettered!
@@toweri_li _"There can be no replacement to Tarja."_
Just as there can be no replacement for Anette, or Floor, or Jukka, or Marko...
@@AntonNidhoggr You are quite right. Floor also made "Ghost Love Score" better - there is no denying it.
As a Texan I didn’t know Canadians say y’all!
hahah “SHOW ME HIS FACE”, love that.
As one of my absolute favorite i would suggest :
Nightwish - Swanheart 🎶 From Wishes To Eternity 🎶 Remastered
th-cam.com/video/R5H_x-00wmU/w-d-xo.html
totally underrated, i guess because it has never been sung by Floor, and the kids of today only know her.
Hah yes I goofed! I am corrected! TARJA!
And I'm eager to hear Anette now!
The best version for me because of Marko. I don't know of a better phantom. Floor is closer to the original which only makes it different.
I absolutely love songs that combine woman and men vocals, that is probably the reason i love amaranthe so much!
I no longer felt the joy of rocking the stage together until…
Wacken 2013 (you had already commented on 2 videos) Nightwish came on stage with none other than Floor "The Valkyrie" Jansen.
If you want to hear Marko sing a little more you can watch this: th-cam.com/video/K6PjccnQj1E/w-d-xo.html
And because you said you'd like to hear Tarja when she doesn't sing (as much) classically, I recommend this:

We apologize for the wall of text
Nown the musical for a long time , and love Floor and Henk versions on TV and live, but this is the best ever!
Never seen this version, only the studio ver. This was epic god damn
Though the usual like The Islander are great too/
Not so fun fact, she was fired after this show.
Please react "Innocence" of Tarja Turunen the first singer of Nightwish. Greetings form ARGENTINA beautiful woman
I think we should give some love to Tarja as well :-)
Or some from a little bit older 'RMJ 2003 (Raumanmeren Juhannus) '. That is pro quality from broadcasting company filming.
That is so true. 👏🏻 She deserves it. 👍🏼
The duet she dings with Sharon and Within Temptation on "Paradise What About US" Is also really good.
enjoy watching you react, but enjoy watching you more!
