As a scouser. The main thing I say to people to frazzle their minds is.
“They do though, don’t they though?”

It's Juh-arg like the G in giraffe not yarg or what ever you were saying, never heard anyone from Liverpool say it like that. Also rolling your R's very lightly (not to spanish levels) would help, 'you know war-ra mean' would make it sound a bit more scouse.

Not sure if it’s because I’ve lived such a long time away from home (25 years in Spain, preceded by 16 years in Hull) or because I’m a wool (Wirral), or both, but I only knew about half of these! Don’t remember anyone saying boss, jargs, baltic, trabs, maff, back in the 70s/early 80s. Thanks for the great video, helped me to update my Scouse!

    0:05 to 0:08

Cat Moggy. Just to name a flew, may be your lot are to posh I was brought up not far from Scotle Road but like you very little accent left. In Leeds Biffter means a spliff.

  • @BenFlynn-d2j
    @BenFlynn-d2j 11 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

She forgot biffta as well as being a cigarette it is also what you would do to something like " give it the bifftas"
Example : " I gave her minge the bifftas"
Chokka as well as being dull or a ot of it also mens your head is wrecked "his head was chokka"
Example: "I was already hungover when me boss started going on, me head was chokka"
Names for your living accommodations " gaff, ken, base, digs, nest, flat, house, etc.
A drink also means to tip someone or pay someone for a favor. "Did you get a dr8nk out of it"
Example: "nice one for getting our kid that job, I'll sort ya a nice drink when I see ya"
Ways to say hello in Liverpool, hello, hi, now then, alright, hiya, oye.
Sometimes things aren't what they seem...a few slangs translated...
    Example:
"The Bob Hope is under the apples and pears" = "the dope is under the stairs"
"Giz a go of ya Josey Whales" = "can I use your scales"
"Would you like more wine sir, no la.. Im laughin"= "would you like more wine sir, no sir Im fine"

'jarg' is a soft g sound, not a 'y' sound.
Same sound as george, gel, genie etc.

When you are speaking example sentences with scouse slangs, you talk just like Daisy from Downton Abbey. Now i know why she was speaking like that, so different than others.
