Spencer, the comment "Every single white boy on the US team looks like he’s named Colt Walker. Except Stephen Nedoroscik looks like he’s named Phineas LeStrand, and that is why I like him" from your live blog on night 2 of men's was my favorite. I was at trials in person with a friend and we quoted that to each other the entire weekend and it never got less funny.
The thing that is amazing to me is Simone just keeps getting better. Harder skills, her form, being the “best Simone she can be.” She doesn’t play it safe and I love that she pushes herself.
Congratulations to all the ladies who made the Olympic team! This year's trials were a roller-coaster of emotions, and they have overcome and sacrificed so much. I can't wait to see them do their best in Paris!
I love the olympic team. With all the injuries that sadly came out (and man the 3 girls who got injured were on many predicted teams.) Asac and Chellsie had their work cut out for them. You also had to note, both got "rejected" from olympic teams in the past, so they went the right direction; pick who placed in the top spots and go off that. The fact 4 olympic vets made the team out of that and an international newbie in Hezley was the way the card fall. I've seen so much online saying Hezley isn't ready. The fact she was junior champ last year and placed that well amongst girls with international/worlds experience is insane, and her placement said that. With 4/5 girls being on the prior olympic team, they'll certainly help her through her competition nerves, and she'll be a major leader in the 2025-2028 quad with this olympic experience.
How short people's memories are... Mckayla Maroney and Kyla Ross made the team as 15 year olds in London and Laurie Hernandez was 15-16 in Rio. A young one always rises to the top at trials.
@@kristinab3838 Even more "ancient" girls were making the olympic team at 14-16 before the age cap! She'll be fine, especially with all the support around her.
@@pinklabbit I have no doubt she'll hit. I think this all comes down to people wanting their favorite, standing on that. Nothing really supports leaving her off. The decision to put her on the team has a strong defense behind it. The only thing I wish for and I think her father parents faith background is not going to allow it, is for the media to stop trying to oversell her up so she can be torn down. Her dream is being on the team and being there to be used when the call comes in. The media is trash and they've become worse than they ever were before. Focus on her as the person and then let her performances at the Olympics speak for themselves. Stop comparing her to other 16 year olds. Stop trying to hang medals and titles on her. People already are smiting her for being chosen. But I already know it's hollow. The media is not your friend unless you're soaring and will gladly pretend they care if you don't stun. Instead of saying you stink, they'll hide behind the opinions of detractors and fake care like they are defending her, all the while the attention is on them for "shining a light on it". Case study: Gabrielle Douglas. 2012 and 2016. And I'll rest my case.
OMG THANK YOU SPENCER 100% the focus on the parents, that whole broadcast was insufferable!!! perfect word. I get that it takes a village, or I'm not sure WHAT was the intent, did someone complain that they would rather be watching someone sitting in the stands and reacting to routines rather than the routines or other gymnasts and that they want to see the reaction over and over again...that broadcast was truly nauseating. Their habit of "let's listen in" also drives me insane, like these athletes have cameras stuck in their faces all the time, can we not let them have some privacy and don't interrupt your own banter to say "wait let's listen" and then the camera doesn't even catch it. UGH. Just do your job to comment
Love this! Trials were incredible! Simone being the goat.... Suni Lee and Jade Carey Blowing us away with their upgrades like we were hoping.... And Jordan Chiles being consistently awesome. Was anyone else wondering If the ladies in the back room chose the top 5 all around in the first minute? LOL I'm so happy with this team especially considering all the tragedies to our other great American gymnasts. I pray they all get well soon and our Olympic team stays healthy.
I think that given that 2-7 were so close in overall “all around” standing, without going through some scoring math, it is completely feasible that either of the alternates could contribute to the highest scoring team. When we think about how the scoring is now, and how one decent mistake could cost 4 to 5 tenths, and you think about how that consistency is important to how you factor is what is realistically the highest scoring team, and how certain options might be better than straight rank when it’s this close. I still think their decisions were chosen pretty well, but I could have really seen Leanne or Jocelyn taken over Hezly instead.
They were like stairsteps from 2-7, while the distance between Simone and Suni spoke volumes that this was the space that didn't fill in the absence of three injuries. I like who I like, but the decision to put Hezly on the team has significant support behind it. I trusted they'd be fair, and they were about it.
Josc would have made absolutely no sense with this team. Her strong events are vault and floor and her weakest event is bars. Hez contributes most on beam and bars. It’s a puzzle and Josc just doesn’t fit this one. If Shi, Skye and Suni had all been on the team, strong floor would have been required. Josc would have been more valuable then, but would have still been edged out by Jade. That said, I‘m impressed by Josc‘s improvements. At Classics, I really wondered why she was even trying. By trials she was great and totally earned the alternate spot. With Leanne, I was hoping for a different outcome, but given her consistency issues and the lack of a standout event, I think they made the right decision
Jessica pointing out that the women who would eventually make the team were very clearly rooting for each other, was an interesting thing that I noticed as well. And I love the idea of a “redemption tour” for them. But, I can’t help but feel a bit bad for Leanne. Not that she wasn’t supported by the other gymnasts, or that she even needed it, but as a Gator who lost three teammates from Nationals through Trials, I think this must have been an especially difficult competition for her. Josc and the other WCC girls had a whole team there, including Simone and Jordan, to cheer for them. It just would have been nice to see Simone or Jordan or Jade or Suni, talking to Leanne during the meet, or cheering for her. Love the video and commentary, as usual, though. Not the “Mariachi warm ups” and “Big blue trash bags” for the guys 😭🤣. Cannot believe people booed Jonathan Owens. I didn’t like that interview he did, but that’s pretty classless to boo this man at this event.
@@flipper8256 it almost feels like leanne was almost ignored by them :(. i really hope that they treat hezly with the kindness and respect she deserves and make her feel she trully belongs to the team and it is not just the team of 4 tokio olympiand going again to the og.
Yes! Leanne looked a little alone out there, especially when she was looking so dejected after her beam score was lowered on day 1. It felt like she only had her coaches. Would have been awesome to have Trinity there. ❤
@@sumsumcorda8 Josc is there as a bonus teen. There is the "team" and then it is there personal space. That is something of concern for me when I knew Hez could be on the team. They are grown women and are not babysitters. It is best the committee be cognizant and ensure there are age appropriate chaperoning in place for Hez and Josc.
now you have skinner on her YT channel calling them lazy and saying she could have made this team when she has never made an olympic team 🙄🙄 Edit: she deleted the vid
She was lucky to be shielded from a lot of karolyi bull crap (and even with nassar, her coach stepped in when she was being treated!) but seems to undermine the struggle everyone else in her quad went through. The environment seems so much better. Also to be an elite gymnast, you have to work so hard! The skill ceiling now is so huge and with training such huge skills will cause injury, no matter how smart you train and stay healthy.
I saw that and thought it was so disrespectful for her to say that. I immediately clicked out of her video. I was going to leave a comment, but she turned her comments off.
Accidentally found your channel and was hoping this wild be people that were honest but respectful without shading anyone AND you both are AMAZING. The questions on scoring and trying to explain how some scores did not make sense, was so educational. I si appreciate that you are so encouraging to the 16 yr old, sorry i forgot her name and don't want to butcher it. Those as old as me can remember the gymnast were so young and some just making the limit. I even remember many many years ago China had someone that was younger and not eligible but they made her older to qualify. So, it was that they wanted younger although I am excited that gymnast are showing that age should not matter. I might have missed it but will you be showing the Olympics in full?
I think Skye and Shilese are two very different personalities and Skye was happy to go out on the floor and be honored whereas Shilese would not be comfortable, just my take on it.
I agree. Skye immediately took to insta; Shi is yet to make a public statement. I think, it’s not just their personalities that are different, though, but also their situations. Skye wasn’t on anyone’s Olympic team until she debuted her Cheng. Most people said they wouldn’t take her after Worlds. Shi was proclaimed a „lock“ for a long time. Also, Shi is older, deferred college for this, was trying to make the team for her deceased father. Obviously, her disappointment would be even greater. Skye is only 19; she has a good chance of going on to LA. Shi is turning 22 and is yet to start her college education. Her family had to fundraise to pay for her dad’s funeral…I think there are many different factors that might make it harder for her to continue elite, though I really hope she does because she completely deserves being an Olympian
@@SonOfAGun1814I mean skye had more time to swallow it, Shilese was right before trials started. And besides she deserves to greave over it after all she's been through she deserves to feel sad and not wanna be shown on cameras acting all happy, she is feeling her emotions and that's okay
Valeri is lucky this time. He probably thought Hezly isn't the front runner, so he doesn't push her do 6.6D bars, 6.6D beam. And this time is enough and Hezly peaks at the right time after classic.
4:31 the skills they did back then may not have been as physically taxing BUT…we cannot ignore the giant benefits that the equipment today holds when it comes to longevity in the sport and less taxing on the body. Back then, the floor was extremely hard and unforgiving. Now, the floor is springy and bouncy. The equipment updates have absolutely been a benefit to gymnasts today. Yes, today’s gymnasts are performing much harder skills BUT a huge reason for this is because of the equipment update.
I kinda liked the women's outfits (i thought their warmups looked like pajamas). I did think it was kinda random that they had something special that i assume no other Olympic team got although I saw the segment about the designer being a former gymnast. Also, I didn't realize the men had something different than warmups, but I do now kinda see they didn't really fit. They could have had something a bit sharper looking, but I'm glad they didn't get bespoke jackets.
Why isn't everyone talking more about Suni's floor? It was pretty incredible! It was the one routine that made me get emotional both days. I love Simone, but I am really pulling for Suni to pull out all the stops and challenge for the gold. If Suni hits everythjng, she has a real shot. Team Suni and Simone!
Simone would have to seriously mess up on several events for Suni to have a chance at defending her AA title. I don’t think it’s her goal, either. She’s not the same athlete; it’s amazing she made the team despite her health issues. I‘d love for her to win a bars medal and perhaps another on beam. But she’s better off making sure she stays healthy rather than do too much.
“Trust the Process” was coined by former NBA 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie. It was used to describe intentionally tanking so they could get the best possible draft picks. Love a Philly gymnastics fan!
I think it was originally coined or at least popularized by the Rights to Ricky Sanchez 76ers fan podcast about Sam Hinkie’s team plan and then became a rallying cry for Sixers fans
Aside from being generally gross, it infantilizes the gymnasts. Like, they're not 16-year-old teens, most of them, still tied at the hip to their families. Most of them are grown woman! Cutting constantly to their mommies and daddies is so yuck.
They have had cameras on athletes family's for decades. Go back and watch the 96 Games, and you can see the cameras following Keri Struggs parents as they are trying to get to her after her injury. The one that cracked me up over the weekend was Brody Malone's brother. He looked bored almost to the point of annoyance. The cameras started tightening in on the dad to crop him out.
@@hollym1821 yes, I am aware of that, but as we have evolved and begun to realize that gymnasts are not dolls but are badass athletes that have agency of their own, we need to expect to see them, not their coaches not their parents. Some of that is fine, just not as much. They also used to focus almost solely on male coaches, rather than the athletes. Steve Nunu, Bela Karoli were the focus. Again, some recognition of families and coaches, absolutely, but not in the "lets make this go viral" way they did trials. It is tired and part of the problem gymnastics culture had in the past.
@carolynrabbani6469 Wow, God forbid parents are happy for their kids. There have always been mics and cameras on the parents. Did I think they were shown too much. Yes. But, I don't think it's gross to show proud family members.
It’s good to hear that Lincoln is happy to be alternate. If we were sending event specialists she would absolutely be going for floor. And agree about her bars, they were great and so improved.
I am gutted for Skye, Kayla, and Shilese. That being said, I absolutely love this team. Hezley wasn't really on my radar leading into trials, but she killed it at this meet. Also, Suni is the queen of peaking at the right moment. She did it in Tokyo, and now she's doing it again. I love her so much!
I‘d say, Suni and Jade are both peaking queens. I love love love Shi, but overall, I think lessons should be learned. Simone was the only 2023 World’s team member who made it to the Olympics. Jade and Suni didn’t do full difficulty until the last possible moment. I can’t help but think that trying to stay in peak form for too long contributed to the amount of injuries.
I remember thinking on Simones second day routine" that was a weird step" just before her aerial...then she fell. Her step before her lead in step just looked weird....like she just blipped for a split second ( like the trip on floor at worlds)
This team was just meant to be. I am really really happy for them. They were my dream team along with Shilese but I it wasn't meant for her. Hezly will do great with this team.
I was heart broken for Shilese especially she had the encourage of a lioness on bars and everyone in the arena were routing for her. The fact this is the second time she had to step out from olympic trials because of injury is so heartbreaking and sad 😔
So I knew there were 4 FIG people there as well checked into the hotel at the same time. I didn’t realize the guy was president. I asked him on Sunday morning in the elevator what he thought of the gymnastics”- lol ok he said “it’s fantastic”
I think it is hilarious that people cannot see the obvious friendship that has evolved from Tokyo. I hope they write a book and maybe let Hezly, Josc, and Leanne contribute a mention here or there. But this is a special group.
Totally! This group absolutely loves each other. I mean, they are legit best friends and have such deep and special connections. I think we are going to have a MAGICAL Paris Olympics! I can just feel it. I did NOT feel the same about Tokyo. I couldn't put it into words at the time, but I just felt this dark, bad vibe about the whole thing. Not this time! I feel pure joy and strength!
Honestly, I kind of thought Russia would win in Tokyo. Yea, it was still shocking! But they were right there and it was such a talented team. And like Jess said, they believed. This is a great team USA! Rivera owned the 2nd night, and I think she’s gonna do great in Paris. Still gutted for every injury, hoping for big comebacks! Shi 😢 Proud of Leanne, there was no guarantee she would even make alternate and glad she is going to Paris.
Everyone will do their part but not everyone is going to the event finals. I truly hope people manage their expectations. The only people who are likely to indiv medal are the ones who did so in Tokyo because they are AAs with built in specialist value.
@@DjbdjdnsLeanne is my absolute favorite and would have loved nothing more than for her to make it! Wish she would have been able to upgrade floor because if she had been in the top 5 she would have made it probably. @@creating1_c1999yeah people really need to back off her. She will do a Cheng and then the other vault will either be an Amanar OR the special secret vault she has been training that she says will debut in Paris as long as it keeps training well. We suspect it is either a triple yurchenko or the Biles I.
Did they challenge and reverse Leannes 2 point neutral deduction on cheng day 1? It said later in the competition she was leading with 14, but graphic scored her a 12 with neutral deduction
There's an automatic inquiry and video review any time that 2.0 deduction is taken for a one-handed vault. So Leanne's team didn't have to request it. But yes, after an inquiry the reversed the decision. For some reaon. Because it was very clearly a one-handed block.
We know where Leanne got her stoicism from lol! The broadcast was much better but still pretty annoying - still a lot of airtime of parents, gymnasts taping etc. Excited I get to watch the int. stream of the olympics here in South Africa 😅

@Chris-g9i wow! I truly had no idea. Maybe that's why they didn't have international stream for it cause they didn't think anyone outside of the US would care? Have you been able to watch it online now afterwards?
@@SquirtlePower809I don’t even know what to say . I watched afterwards . And it is annoying . My country’s figure skating federation always broadcast for home audience and internationally because it is obvious for everybody that there are tonnes of international fans
My concern is how realistic was domestic scoring and, maybe more importantly domestic scoring differences between athletes, in comparison to international scoring. For example: Lets say Josc was tied with another person on vault domestically, but internationally would have been 0.2 higher, its concerning bc your "highest scoring team" may be based off unrealistic scoring.
Women don't use "highest scoring team". Using average on 2 days, Josc would have been on this team over Jordan. They aren't pro-flop like MAG selection committee.

When Simone and Gabrielle competed together in an Olympics (Rio), Gabrielle came to Rio, the only AA Champ and defending, on that team. Simone won her title in Rio. Suni and Simone come to the Paris Olympics as having earned theirs in two separate berths, dual defending.
She was on the highest scoring team but Grace and Jordan were better on bars and beam. Also they did show Shilese Jones and her mother on night two Jessica.
Me neither, but it certainly wasn't that! Lol! I was preparing for one injury at trials cause it just always seems to happen. But for 3??? And all 3 are top contenders for the team??!! Ugh it was just so hard emotionally.
@@aliciamcdonald7105agreed! As long as it looks good in training, she will do it in quals to test it out and see how it is getting scored and then based on that we may see it again in EF. Just imagine Suni doing her full D routine with the "Lee"??!! It would be a 7.2 D score bars!!!!!
@@SquirtlePower809 Seeing Suni do that routine would be something indeed but yeah, don't think we will see her attempt it except in QUALS and EF. Thinking about it, we might not see it in Quals either because she might want to play it safe especially if she is competing AA.
@aliciamcdonald7105 it would be incredibly amazing to see it all put together! But you might be right, she may only go for it in event finals since bars is pretty stacked this Olympics. But we'll just have to wait and see lol
Leanne's two Chengs at Trials only gained her five tenths over her combined vault score from Championships, where she did two pretty typical-for-her DTYs. Chengs may have 0.6 higher difficulty but they tend to have lower E scores, and her E dropped by 3 - 4 tenths per vault on the Chengs. If you sub in her DTYs from Championships into Trials her combined AA drops to 109.925, which doesn't change her placement; it's still about four tenths above Tiana. However, if they had kept the 2 point neutral deduction on her night 1 Cheng, as they should have, that would have dropped her AA to 9th place behind Kaliya.
What‘s your point? She scored higher overall with the Cheng than without it. And she knew making the team was a long shot; she had to try. Whether she doesn’t go with a DTY or a 2pt neutral deduction doesn’t really matter. She wanted to give herself a shot; good for her.
@@Chris-g9i I was responding to the part in the video where Spencer suggests that Leanne's Chengs changed her AA placement (and thus, he jokingly suggests, is responsible for her being traveling alternate rather than non-traveling), by adding 1.2 to her D score over two days. Which is incorrect, she would have placed the same (but with an approx. 5 tenth lower AA over the course of the two days) with her typical DTYs. Not making any commentary on Leanne herself, just responding to Spencer's claim.
Suni Lee's pain management technique makes me feel seen and heard, and it's hilarious and not funny at all (but so funny), because that's chronic illness for ya.
I don’t really get why you’d put Robertson over chiles on the team when Jordan can be used on 3 apparatus with better scores than Josc. Ultimately Jordan only didn’t hit beam which they don’t need her for.. E score for Josc are also pretty scary to take internationally. You don’t make a. Team based on 1 best score best case scenario by 0.1 on domestic scoring, thats ludicrous. I also think she was thrilled to be a travelling alternate so really there’s no loser here. The only debatable decision here was Leanne, Josc or Hezly for the 5th spot.
Didn’t Owens say something about he was the catch in the relationship with Simone? Basically saying in a context that Simone has married up to him. Which is totally insane. I think that’s what ppl booed about 😂
Reminds me of the post game interviews where the media ask dumb questions after a loss and wonder why the athletes get up and leave or drag them for filth. Giannis' comes to mind.
@creating1_c1999 Facts, but I meant in general. He has a great competition and NOW the committee wants to remove the discussion part of the equation?! He doesn't wana stick around and pretend to be happy. 'I'm out, call me if you need me to alternate'. Khoi, who gets bronze AA at Nats and has a great trials day 2, could feel the same way, but at least there's the day 1 meltdown hurting his case.
I am really trying to be excited for the team that made it. I know, Simone deserves redemption, Suni overcame so much, Jade is finally part of the team and all the Tokyo girls deserve an Olympics with spectators. Hezley is also an amazing addition. However, it’s just really really hard to muster that excitement, when so many contenders got injured. Especially Shi. Not just because she was the frontrunner behind Simone but because with her broken back and deceased father, she‘s had one of the toughest journeys and I wanted a happy ending for her more than anything. I just don’t understand life sometimes or why it‘d be so cruel to the same people over and over again. (Konnor is another example). It’s kind of ridiculous to be so upset for someone I don’t know personally but I really feel depressed about trials and with several international favorites out as well, I‘m not really looking forward to Paris anymore.

Not to be that person, but anyone else worried about a repeat of the Tokyo games. I don't know the mind set Simone was in back in 2021 and who knows what caused it. But I feel like it is at least something to think about. It was my worry this year anyway. Same talking points about her looking as good as ever. Basically the same team from Tokyo. Just seems weird. Hope it is nothing, I have nothing against Simone, I hope she redeems herself and all is well. Just something I thought about when I heard she was making a come back last year.
I am not worried simply because I don't put money, fame, or medals before mental health. Worried is reserved for safety. I was more worried about them contracting Covid than bringing home a gold medal. After Suni's illness that can flare, the injuries, we need to check ourselves hard about what is important.

With that said that is no reason not to compete I am just hoping that what ever caused the issue last time doesn't reappear and we have the same situation as last time because I can't imagine how that is going to pan out. I have been a fan of hers all the way back in 2013 when she started competing in Elite. So I wish no ill will at all I am hoping she has the comeback and redeems herself. But if it does happen again, the Simone situation is way worse when you break it down.
@@mat99richif you’re a fan of her then you should know that she and her coaches have been frequently talking about her work in therapy. She had unresolved issues stemming from many things included the abuse by Larry Nassar. All have said how much better she is mentally than at the last Olympics.
@@mat99richshe has worked exceptionally hard on her mental health and coping mechanisms and her entire team all work together to manage stress and pressure. She is VISIBLY more happy and comfortable and full of joy. You could SEE just how empty and broken she was in the Tokyo year. It was all over her face at every meet. This time around she is BEAMING. Tokyo was a fluke event that needed to happen for her. And also remember that the twisties happen to nearly all gymnasts. Hers to just came at a bad time. So no I'm not worried. She has got this and so does the team. Everything has changed in the last 4 years.
@@SquirtlePower809 Once again misunderstanding the point, She could be 100%, but she showed no signs of anything leading up to Tokyo. It is a talking point and something to think about. I want her to succeed. But it is not something to just overlook as she is better and it is not going to happen. It is something to look out for. Don't get me wrong you are 100% correct during the competition in Tokyo she was visibly disturbed. And she looks way better at least in the mental side of things this year. So not trying to discount anything. But just making the mention since it seems like it is not the talking point it should be. Because you know it is something going through each one of the others mind right now. Regardless of whether or not they would admit it.
People really underestimate the implosion rate of the Chinese team... The hit rate is incredibly low this year, and that's why they bring a more solid high 13-low 14 bars, instead of DTY, 6.6D bars but hit 50%.
@@erinm9445 The implosion rate of the Chinese team is way higher than the US team, unless you talk about US MAG 😂. The last time they won bronze in 2018 because of vault and floor.
@@cocoroni1031 Yes, but haven't the gymnasts who have been named to the team had good hit rates this year? I think their strongest vaulter has had trouble with bars consistentcy, but still a lot better than 50%. But yes, I know that in general China struggles with hit rate. I really want to see them hit at a team final and get silver! (Silver because I don't want the US to make big mistakes!)
It’s not about her age, but earning a spot for me. She hasn’t contributed to team USA like others who have competed and medaled in World championships. I know it’s because she was a junior but she could have waited for her chance next Olympics or be taken as alternate imo.

Except Stephen Nedoroscik looks like he’s named Phineas LeStrand, and that is why I like him" from your live blog on night 2 of men's was my favorite. The thing that is amazing to me is Simone just keeps getting better. Harder skills, her form, being the “best Simone she can be.” She doesn’t play it safe and I love that she pushes herself.
I’ve been waiting for this vid for DAYS!!!!!!!!! So glad that it’s finally up and I’m super excited!!!!
I think Hezley will be ready. I mean Kyla Ross, Gabby D were all 16 when they made the team. They did fine and hit their routines.
@@creating1_c1999 Case made.
so much info in this podcast. this was one of their best
The #GangofRoses brought their authentic selves to the meet. Unfortunately people don't pay attention so they miss the masterclass.
Team Name: F*ck Around & Find Out Five. That is my official submittal.
Lmao 😂
Holy shit??? No way you just predicted that
This aged well
NO FVCKING WAY??????????
This aged so well.
@@Sarah_Parks jocelyn would never make the team with simone jordan jade in place. Those three had vault and floor covered, so josc is redundant.
Sometimes people cannot let things go. They've found him to be the outlet they need to relieve their bowels onto.
@@creating1_c1999 YEP!

It is best the committee be cognizant and ensure there are age appropriate chaperoning in place for Hez and Josc.
now you have skinner on her YT channel calling them lazy and saying she could have made this team when she has never made an olympic team 🙄🙄
Edit: she deleted the vid
She’s a jealous loser. And the cop basically created a neutral deduction on the cheng after she shouldn’t have won silver 😂
@@floralgem yeah i could not believe she shot from the hip like that
I saw that and thought it was so disrespectful for her to say that. I immediately clicked out of her video. I was going to leave a comment, but she turned her comments off.
I was disgusted by her comments.
Thanks for sharing the detail analysis
She was doing some outographs at sp
i'm sure shilese was asked and didn't want to
@@Jac-Jay it’s also possible that usag offered to honor shilese but Shilese turned it down
@@SonOfAGun1814I mean skye had more time to swallow it, Shilese was right before trials started.
God protect her because a repeater from Valeri is.........................................................
That part! Valeri should take notes, the way you make the team is NOT extra mega difficult skills 👀
@@guardianofthegalaxy2051 I hope he doesn’t make Hezly add ring jump, inbar this month.
I love Leanne. I wish she did a bit more though. A very worthy Olympian!❤️
Finallyyyy! I’ve been waiting for this video lol and how do I download the deductions dossier?! 👀
It's in the Downloads & Dossier section of the Forum on the website. Only appears when you're logged in as an active club member.
Awesome! Thank you! Can’t wait to check it out 😁
Simone's beam was so much better than day one, honestly. IT was so tight and clean! And it is still amazing that she was not rattled by the fall.
Ok, now I am dying to know what Simone's affirmations are!
Thank you for Spencer's comment about the parents. NBC wants another viral Aly's parents video. It was really gross!
that part!!! it's so forced they even had mic's on hezly's dad and jordan's mom

We’re gonna talk about Myk being a mega “Next Tuesday” right?
OMG. Been waiting for this book.
I love Spencer’s longer hair!
I remember thinking on Simones second day routine" that was a weird step" just before her aerial...then she fell. Her step before her lead in step just looked weird....like she just blipped for a split second ( like the trip on floor at worlds)
I literally don’t have a right fibula. I was rock climbing and running on it in 6 weeks
This team was just meant to be. I am really really happy for them. They were my dream team along with Shilese but I it wasn't meant for her. Hezly will do great with this team.
And Skye! But regardless, I am also so happy witht this team as well!
I was heart broken for Shilese especially she had the encourage of a lioness on bars and everyone in the arena were routing for her. The fact this is the second time she had to step out from olympic trials because of injury is so heartbreaking and sad 😔
Yes huge football rival with Packers, Bears and Lions in Minnesota! So excited for this Olympic team!!!

Totally! This group absolutely loves each other. I mean, they are legit best friends and have such deep and special connections. I think we are going to have a MAGICAL Paris Olympics! Without Myk though, which is how it SHOULD BE.
Shi 😢
Proud of Leanne, there was no guarantee she would even make alternate and glad she is going to Paris.
this team is similar to the Rio team with Laurie- vets with a young gymnast. And the Rio team was on fire😀
Leanne was actually more likely to make the team, she was robbed
Everyone will do their part but not everyone is going to the event finals. I truly hope people manage their expectations. The only people who are likely to indiv medal are the ones who did so in Tokyo because they are AAs with built in specialist value.

Did they challenge and reverse Leannes 2 point neutral deduction on cheng day 1? It said later in the competition she was leading with 14, but graphic scored her a 12 with neutral deduction
yes
There's an automatic inquiry and video review any time that 2.0 deduction is taken for a one-handed vault. So Leanne's team didn't have to request it. But yes, after an inquiry the reversed the decision. For some reaon. Because it was very clearly a one-handed block.

Oh wow! You are a fan all the way from South Africa?! That's really cool! Do you like the US team the most or do you follow all teams? Do you have a fave gymnast?

I agree - we don’t need that much parent action!
The unwritten, beat the better to be the best
Women don't use "highest scoring team". Using average on 2 days, Josc would have been on this team over Jordan. They aren't pro-flop like MAG selection committee.

Has there ever been a team like this where only 1 member of the previous world team made the Olympic team?
Simone and Gabby Douglas competed together.

The teams that are contending for silver are probably China and Brazil, with Italy and France probably in the mix for bronze.

We will safely secure Gold (unless complete disaster strikes) and then China and Italy will fight for silver, with France and Brazil seeking bronze.
He made the right choice skinner’s bars were 🗑️ and we need that score to WIN Silver!
I hope Suni throws in the "Lee" to her Olympic bar routine!! Just to get it named after her!
I think she will do it in QUALS and not again until EF.
With everything going on I completely forgot about this skill! If she is feeling good in Paris I hope she does it! ❤
Suni Lee's pain management technique makes me feel seen and heard, and it's hilarious and not funny at all (but so funny), because that's chronic illness for ya.
as someone who has managed multiple auto-IDs, she has my utmost respect for what she is doing and continues to do
1:01:17 I think Aly Raismans parents started a trend
I don’t really get why you’d put Robertson over chiles on the team when Jordan can be used on 3 apparatus with better scores than Josc. Ultimately Jordan only didn’t hit beam which they don’t need her for.. E score for Josc are also pretty scary to take internationally. You don’t make a. Team based on 1 best score best case scenario by 0.1 on domestic scoring, thats ludicrous. I also think she was thrilled to be a travelling alternate so really there’s no loser here. The only debatable decision here was Leanne, Josc or Hezly for the 5th spot.
Ahhhh you're here! Wake up GayBae, it's a new gymcasticcccccc for Olympic trialsssss
100% agree with Spencer, no more jello talk. 🤣 it’s just gross.
Yeah, I thought the men's team's warm ups made them look like janitors.
Yep...where's the mop n buckets
Didn’t Owens say something about he was the catch in the relationship with Simone? Basically saying in a context that Simone has married up to him. Which is totally insane. I think that’s what ppl booed about 😂
1:00:31 that pic lmao😂
Shane has every right to be pssd. Hard stop!
Spencer is so cute.
Has Andrade revealed what her new vault is?
Exactly…I wanna know what this new vault is.
She's been training a Cheng with an extra twist, so a half-on, randi out. No idea if it will be ready or if she would compete it though.
@@erinm9445 so a Biles 1?
@@charitybosua Biles I is half on double twist off. Andrade is possibly doing a 2 and a half twist off (Randi). So an extra half twist!
I’m so excited to see if she does it. Her Cheng technique is so good, I have faith in her to hit
@@erinm9445we don't know if she has been training that. She literally has not revealed any info about the secret vault. We can only speculate wildly lol
Why was a Gen Z NBC editor allowed to televise the competition? They cut away so many times during the speeches and completely missed Suni breaking into tears! Just have some patience and let it settle my god!
What happens if I fell asleep during the live post-trials podcast - not because it wasn't excellent - but just b/c autism mom exhaustion. Just wondering...
The recording is available for two weeks apparently
I wish scoring and points werent so confusing to me 😂 i just know whos good lmao
it is so crazy to follow...I think they do it to create excitement for home viewers and keep them watching until the final event performance
It's going to be great guys, don't worry. #Paris2024.
Why is Jade the smallest in the thumbnail when she has a Gold medal over Jordan and has been to an Olympics where Hezley hasn't?? (YES THIS MATTERS either make them the same size or do it by who has the most OLYMPIC achievements!!)
@Nixmathis It's suspect for some of these pods they "for her" statements
Khokina did 3 Olympics
They were referring to American gymnasts. Khorkina is not an American nor a permanent resident.
I thought Hezia was put on the team for future proofing. It makes sense to me for 2028 and 2032. She will be the 2028 Team captian with Tatiana as the other all around.
For bars and beam but most likely to do beam
Lmfao, pretty bold prediction. So she’s not just successfully returning but making team captain? Did your crystal ball tell you that? Laurie was an amazing new senior in Rio yet didn’t make another team. A lot of stuff can happen in a full quad. We have no idea if Shi wants to come back. Skye and Konnor already said they wanted to. All good candidates, but anything can happen. Hez was chosen for her bars and beam, end of.

Why hate on parents emotions when their child cn potentially go to the olympics. I loved when they showed their faces. To say it was "very offputting" ?? like how emotionally unstable are you?. loved everything else :)lol
I also don't understand everyone's hatred of those shots. Maybe not all the family situations are the best... But their families have played a large part in the athlete's journey.
Can you please talk about the Mikayla Skinner comment? People are going bananas over it. She did not mean to hurt anyone. I actually agree with her about a lot of things and I can see how her comment was misconstrued. While yes, the sport has changed drastically.I think it's so much better that athletes are more looked after in regards to their health and well being both physical and mental especially the longevity. However, I kind of feel like a lot of young people today. There is a lack of discipline. And work ethic it's like we're raising a bunch of snowflakes! Everyone's crying about their feelings, making excuses and they expect to be rewarded for less than stellar output. But I will say I am incredibly proud of the girls that made the team. They are so talented. They have worked so hard and they deserve their spots I can't wait for paris , go USA! I wish everyone would calm down and not take things so personally Makayla is a good girl, She's entitled to her opinions, just like everyone else.Let this be a lesson to her to be very careful what she says publicly.

Yes, Simone's husband played for the Packers who are the Minnesota Vikings hated rivals, hence the booing.
He’s a Chicago Bear now

no sis, most gymnastics fans don't know/give a fuq about football (whatever that even is?) it's for his energy that he's shown multiple times in multiple ways..
@@SonOfAGun1814 I am a gymnastics fan and a football fan. Football is the most popular sport in the country and if gymnastics fans want the sport to grow y'all need to accept those of us that like almost all sports not just gymnastics. And honestly, I hate the hate Jonathan's been getting from so called fans for stupid stuff he has said in the past. LET IT GO! She has stated several times that it insulting and rude and that he is her husband and that's that. She is happy with him, and that's the most important thing in my opinion. You don't need to like him, but you don't have to berate him every chance you get either.
@SonOfAGun1814 If you don't know the difference between football and tennis, that is your problem. But I can bet more people in that stadium are football fans than you think. It's fine if you don't like the "ball sports," but you make it sound like every gymnastics fan is that same way. So, since I love football, basketball, hockey, and baseball, am I not a true gymnastics fan? Also, I love how you ignored the second part of my comment.
@@creating1_c1999 I think you misunderstand my comment. Using that same logic why is she putting herself back in the same position. She is the leader of the team like last time. All eyes are on her like last time. Even more pressure than last time. For her own mental health she shouldn't do this. I didn't say what I said because I am worried about the gold medal. I said it because I am worried about her and the rest of the women that will compete. Because if it happens again what kind of mental state do you think Simone is going to be in. Let alone the others.
Can China beat US in team final?
The US has about a 3 point difficulty advantage over China. So China can win, but only if everyone hits and the US makes several major mistakes.
