Kayla is not secure there. Whoever hits AA both nights at trials between Kayla, Jordan, and Suni will all have a good chance at the 4th AA spot (after Simone/Shi/Skye). Remember they finished within four tenths of each other, and all of them had about two-three points worth of errors and 6-7 hit routines. At trials Kayla could very possibly finish in 6th place like she did in 2021. If for example the ranking is Simone, Shi, Skye, Suni, Jordan, Kayla, Jade, I’d take the top 4 and then whoever has the best FX scores from Jordan/Jade/Kayla.
HUMIDITY?? Seems like every wolf turn (beam & floor) was sticky??? There was a supercell outside the arena at the time??? Could that possibly have caused an anomaly like just about EVERY athlete having wolfifisastors??
Trying to summarize from the at-times vague explanation: The vault judging panel screwed up significantly. Donnell Whittenburg was incorrectly scored in a way that affected his standing, and because it wasn’t fixed at the time, it’s officially part of his meet score. Multiple coaches are calling for the panel to be replaced; I’m not sure whether Donnell was the only one affected. There’s apparently a systemic problem with US men’s judging where highly rated judges do not get invited to meets, so the judges aren’t the highest caliber.
I think if Simone add another difficulty on bars except for landing and beam she should win the individual golds. As it seems, she didn’t get the highest on beam n bars
@@cocoroni1031 yes but this is in the USA. The Olympics is different. I am not taking anything away from her but others are looking and will come with some other difficulties as well. Take for example the girl from Brazil who won gold on vault at the World Championships

@@creating1_c1999 yes I understand. I’m just responding to Jessica saying no one in the top 10 for an event didn’t make trials 6:50 but that’s not true!
I think that the biggest problem for Suni is that with the exception of BB, she's not doing well enough on any of the other apparatuses to really make an impact on the team. And when you've got Simone, Shilese and Skye also putting up big numbers so that might not be enough to justify her being on the team. She's still doing a somewhat watered down UB program, so unless we see the full program with all those complicated connections, it's going to be hard to make an argument for her to be used on that apparatus (with Simone, Shilese and Jordan putting up bigger numbers). Her FX and VT are not at the level that they'd need to be for her to make an AA final at this point so unless she really comes out like gangbusters at trials, it's going to be hard to see how including her on the team will really make sense. I think that she deserves so much credit for being able to bounce back from her illness, but I'm not sure if she's really really for the Olympics.
@@ravanne3746suni’s beam is enough justification to put her on the team, period. We have Simone on beam. Shilese does a descent beam. Wouldn’t really trust anyone else with a high D and E score.
@@justlina2769 She doesn’t need to say it. If her only goal was to make the team she’d only be doing bars and beam, and we would start seeing her upgrades already. Her push to do a full AA and upgrade all her events shows that she hopes to defend her title or atleast make it on the podium again.
@@ravanne3746 agreed and whenever I say this people call me a hater which I’m so rooting for Suni and i’m in awe at her comeback. But saying someone should be on the team because they “have more in the tank” doesn’t make sense to me. All the other girls have more in the tank. Not showing atleast 70% of full difficulty at this point in the season is cause for concern. She has a place holder dismount on beam, extremely watered down bars which is not competitive enough to make her case for the team, and her floor and vault aren’t really worth mentioning. This time around the US is not weak on bars like they usually are, atleast 4 gymnasts currently can put up 14.5+ on bars and it’s the same for beam. The team actually needs vaulters and floor contenders if anything. I just don’t see where she fits on the team.
It all depends on if she wants to. She probably wants to start a family. She could just do vault and floor in LA. She could probably win both by not competing until 2028 season. I’m sure the sponsors and federation will dangle lots of money to lure her. It’s a home Olympics; first summer home games since 1996. But she’s amazing and awesome even if she quit right now before Paris.
I think she will definitely do LA because if nothing the amount of endorsement deals will be insane and it just makes good business sense to at least try and retire after a home Olympics.
@@quedotelancine1685 YEP. In addition to which, I don't care who does what in the intervening years but Simone vault and floor will most likely STILL be the top in the country even then.
I would say "yes" to your question but reading the comments, I totally agree that the federation and her sponsors will do everything to keep her in the sport. Perhaps being a VT and FX specialist would be enough for her to make the team.
I think they need to remove the mats from the floor so the gymnast can see the line. I saw an athlete did her floor without it .Why have it at some corners. It’s doesn’t help in my opinion as it relates to landing
It's to help protect them from injury. Those big tumbling passes have some of them coming down into the floor really hard and this hopefully will help save their ankles for Paris. It's worth it to lose a fraction of a point now and have them stay healthy for the Olympics.

17:30 A lot of floor scores are INFLATED except JADE. Jade listened to gymternet, ditched the L-hop 1/1. Others don't listen, and judges give all the Gogean or L-hop full credit like candies. That's why almost everyone keeps the L-hop 1/1 and Gogean.
Leanne Wong listens as well. I think Jordan is the only one in top 8 that has an Lhop. I also believe they said on here that Jordan leg is actually pretty good and they compared her as a good example for Jade. But other than that who else are you talking about?
@@quedotelancine1685 Jordan's L hop is very borderline. Josc, Nola.... 's L-hop 1/1 are nonexistent. But there is NO creditable Gogean on day 2.
@@cocoroni1031 That’s what I thought, literally no one in the top aside from Jordan has an L hop, so why are you complaining? lol Joscelyn was definitely deducted, not sure about Nola though.
@@quedotelancine1685 Judges gave ALL problematic credit. Probably means they are not taking deductions that are supposed to be taken. Is giving nonexistent credit okay now????
@@quedotelancine1685 Also, Shilese's L hop 1/1 is better than Jordan, but still got hella consistently downgraded at 2023 worlds. International judges clearly doesn't like this skill.
Spencer - keep the stubble. Hawt!
Skye’s 15.0 on vault. The judges forgot for a second about their hidden agenda and scored her with their hearts. ❤❤
your question to simone in the press conference was so unnecessary and rude. she cleared you with her response... and clearly didn't appreciate it
Whose question and what was it? 😮
@@marshajulessa2995 after Simone gave a pretty touching account of how she went over to bars to cheer Suni on after her fall on vault, Jessica raised her hand and asked--in this weirdly sardonic way--"I just wanna know... how you ACTUALLY feel about bars?". It was so condescending and Simone definitely didn't appreciate it when the whole narrative about her being bad at bars is like 10 years old at this point
I kind of agree. I think Jessica struggles with how to word her questions. It would have been better if she asked, "Now that you're a national champion on bars, has your opinion of them changed?" I usually don't watch press conferences, but I heard Simone said something about Suni, so I started watching. When I heard Jessica's voice, I both was like, "Oh cool, gymcastic," and then was like "Jessica what the f was that question?!"

That is A LOT of hardware especially when you consider her not doing two Worlds and not competing individually except on beam in Tokyo.

I've only won 4 Goal Medals in my 34 years on this earth and not even professional, high school level. So 101 at a professional level Is crazy to me.
Anyone know what's going on with the men's judges?
Top 4AA was Simone, Skye, Kayla, Suni, add Shi and that's the team. Sorry, but that's who it should be anyway.
Spencer 🥰😍 looking so cute
Love the pride shirt spencerrr😜
I really love to see Suni lee she had a lot to over come just to get to compete. I wish her well.

If Shilese Jones can't go to Olympic Team Trials, she can't be choosen for the Olympic Team, correct?
Her petition was accepted. She’s going to Trials. You cannot petition onto the team like Betty Okino did.
Can someone tell me what happened with Trinity? Why did she only do bars?

Hi, sending love
Speny looks good. Not sure if it's the contrast with the shirt or what... yum yum.
Kayla fell hard on bars!!
HUMIDITY?? Seems like every wolf turn (beam & floor) was sticky??? There was a supercell outside the arena at the time??? Could that possibly have caused an anomaly like just about EVERY athlete having wolfifisastors??
I’m so upset for Trinity 😢
Happy Pride everyone! xoxo
Can some please briefly explain the problem with men scoring?
I want to know too
Trying to summarize from the at-times vague explanation: The vault judging panel screwed up significantly.
@@mrsb50 Thank you for explaining. That's shocking! That's very sad for Donnell.
@@mrsb50thank you for this explanation. I was wondering why he dropped so low but I am happy that they are addressing the problem.
@@pajamamama5965 @quedotelancine1685 you’re welcome! I’m hoping for the best for Donnell. He’s worked so hard for so long.
Spenser, you're so handsome!
I think if Simone add another difficulty on bars except for landing and beam she should win the individual golds. As it seems, she didn’t get the highest on beam n bars
Simone got all titles on vault, bars, beam and floor. All scores are combined.
@@cocoroni1031 yes but this is in the USA. The Olympics is different. I am not taking anything away from her but others are looking and will come with some other difficulties as well. Take for example the girl from Brazil who won gold on vault at the World Championships
@@CharmGreen-l2c What individual gold are you referring to?
@user-rw8hj1fv5v Simone would have still won vault even with her fall if they had not deducted 0.5 points from her score for having her coach on the mat.
Still not taking Skye with all her falls.
Alicia should know this of all people.
I think she is an amazing gymnast though!
She didn’t fall not once, but many others did. So Sky most likely is going.
@@sammy4634 She falls in all the international competitions. This is the first competition in awhile where she has not fallen.
Track record will be taken into account.
If she did nailed her Cheng both days, I might say she’s a lock.
If Suni, Shilese, and Simone do bars and beam for TF, and Skye and Jade/Jordan/Kayla are the other parts to fill in vault and floor, then she’s going to be on the team.
She’s still in the mix. At this point, I still wouldn’t take her.
@@JoshuaFazelii feeling like they might take her but not use her anywhere in TF
@@Scatach7 Could be, but they want the highest possibility for medalists in event finals. So Jade and Jocelyn could medal on vault.
Shilese use to fall a lot, and now look at her, never judge a gymnast for their past it is truly about the now in this moment.
Madray Johnson didn’t make trials and she was top 5 on beam!
it appears they took the top 14 AA and accepted 2 petitions
@@creating1_c1999 yes I understand. I’m just responding to Jessica saying no one in the top 10 for an event didn’t make trials 6:50 but that’s not true!
Suni has her work cut out for her 😭 Imagine trying to defend your olympic title while Simone’s out here throwing up 60points for fun 😭😭
I haven't even heard Suni say she wanted to go for the AA title
The real question is....who is gonna be the white girl on the team?! 😂
Do you think that Simone Biles will retire afer the Paris Olympics?
Perhaps being a VT and FX specialist would be enough for her to make the team.
was the girl from UF out?
I think they need to remove the mats from the floor so the gymnast can see the line. I saw an athlete did her floor without it .Why have it at some corners. It’s doesn’t help in my opinion as it relates to landing
It's to help protect them from injury. Those big tumbling passes have some of them coming down into the floor really hard and this hopefully will help save their ankles for Paris. It's worth it to lose a fraction of a point now and have them stay healthy for the Olympics.
I think the lines should at least be taped? Seemed like some were just drawn with chalk
