Yes, Malayalam and Tamil share several vocabularies since they belong in Dravidian family. But it is far less than 90%. @Warrior Guy Just because Google says it doesn't mean that it is true. Many foreigners (Hermann Gundert, Benjamin Bailey, Arnos Pathiri, etc.) learned Malayalam and wrote their works in Malayalam since Malayalam is quite easy to learn. Malayalam has no grammatical genders, lacks subject verb agreements, has no definite article, has no capital letters and no small letters, flexible sentence structures, etc. which make it easier to learn and easier to speak.
@Warrior Guy I already gave examples of German and Hungarian in my other reply to you. All what you wrote here are baseless statements based on hearsay. And not based on proofs. Many Malayalees simply try to make it appear Malayalam as very hard when it isn't. Malayalam is easy since it lacks subject verb agreements, has no capital and small letters (like in English), has no grammatical genders, has no definite article, etc. I know this, because I was deeply involved in the linguistic researches for decades. I like to focus this subject on one post at at time. So we can discuss this matter in my other reply to you.
It's partially true. I am a native Odia speaker. Hindi was very easy to learn. Tamil I can speak and understand (can't read). Malayalam I still haven't learnt properly after trying for so long (they have many different dialects/accents of it). BUT THE MOST DIFFICULT IS NAGAMESE. Trying to learn Nagamese requires dedication of a completely different level altogether. Nothing has been as hard as Nagamese till date.
Malayalam can be learned easily after proper practice through proper materials. All languages have various accents and dialects. But with Malayalam, the grammar is very simple.
I wouldn't say that. Many Europeans learned Malayalam fluently and published their works in Malayalam. Dr. Hermann Gundert, Arnos Pathiri, Benjamin Bailey, Robert Drummond, LJ Frohnmeyer, Joseph Peet, etc. are among them.
Karnataka... Apart from the kannada dialect changing from district to district, we have languages like Tulu, Beary, Catholic konkani, Hindu Konkani, Kodava, Kundagannada 😊

I dont know why but i understand malayalam most of them but im tamil i had never learned malayalam
