Even 10yrs back, same points were valid but now people are changing and accepting the beautiful and culturally vibrant South India. Surprisingly Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi are my favourite actors. I love Sambhar and Rasam a lot. Real respect is when you accept someone as they are instead of finding the similarities. When they overheard me speaking Assamese with my friends ,later on i was conversing with them in my mother tongue.

I'm currently working in Infosys in Mahindra World City. Having stayed in Chennai for almost a decade (since I did my engg. here), I can say that Chennai is livable for people who can deal with staying alone. I, for instance, am habituated with enjoying my own company and have no problems in Chennai. As a matter of fact , I love my time in Chennai. However, those that seek company and cannot stay alone and tend to feel lonely may have a really hard time dealing with South Indians (Tamilians). Many North Indians even face discrimination and are usually deliberately isolated by South Indians. I have seen many such examples. The only way is to try to mingle in with the others. This is something that I despise doing and I'd rather stay alone than try to get into a group where I feel I'm not welcomed in the first place. If a North Indian can deal with this, everything else in Chennai is fine. I love my spa sessions in Chennai and consider it my second home (after Kolkata). :)

You are right. They are Dravidian. The closest Dravidian language in the North is Brahui spoken in Balochistan, Pakistan. Great video. Although except having visited some relatives in T-Nagar and Adayar, during my early boyhood days, I have no experience with Madras. We used to board a local train to go to Tambaram. We don't have much local train network in Hyderabad, so it was exillierating. BTW, Chennai is a wet city, those areas are extremely drenching in summer. Within half an hour of going out you get drenched in your own sweat, because the humidityin the air won't absorb your sweat. That's good for health. It keeps you cool. In Hyderabad you don't get drenched in sweat because the body water gets evaporated into the dry air around and you get exhausted without even realizing unless you are supplementing it with electrolyte salts every now and then.

Thank you for sharing your experience :)

I wanna say one thing Karnataka people are most welcoming people than other states..But food wise other south states are good..
1--South Indian people are very well educated men and women both..
2--Culture wise they follow traditions very seriously even you will find they do Rangoli in front of their houses everyday..
3--Mostly south indians think we north indians are very loud ..And as North Indian I can say they are right .. Mostly South Indian are very simple (You can understand this only when you will visit south)
4-- You will not find DJ in their weddings and No dance during barat.. 😂😂 Weddings happens timewise not like in our weddings where Barat comes lately ...And another thing I like is first everyone takes photo with groom and bride then only they eat food...
5-- When girls get first period then they do some rituals and they give party...
6-- The one thing I don't like they do cousin marriage in hindu traditions also..But now a days this thing is decreasing but it exists only in some communities...
7-- The best city in South india is Bangalore..I bet you if you ever lived there for 1 year you don't wanna come back ever..
8-- Apart from Karnataka other south states people expect
from you to communicate with their own language ..Then only they feel comfortable and got mingle with you..
But in North we never except from anyone to learn our language..
All these are my opinions ...Yours can be different
Karnataka is most welcoming because business of Karnataka is captured by outsiders. They don’t have anyother go.

Survived usage here is very bad word . We are not like Delhi or up ppl. We respect women.
That's not what she meant.
How many years have you lived in delhi ncr?
i lived in delhi and as a north indian i didnt like that . been upto banglore but is exited about chennai n kerala
To be more specific not all tamilans know English well and there are many people who are extremely fluent in English. English is just a language not knowledge
That's the problem that's why south India needs to figure out a common language
@@abhinashsinghania440 common language should be Tamil in TN, Kannada in Karnataka…
I am getting a job option in chennai and Pune. Which is better in terms of accomodation and cost of transport and is chennai is cheaper than Pune plz rply
Accommodation & cost of transport would be similar in both places however, the local transport is better in Chennai as compared to Pune.
I was really scared from the name of the video that how you SURVIVED, but after watching video👍👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿
Thank you!
The only problem is because in north u r not forced to learn any of the south languages. But for a South Indian Hindi is mandatory. If you are looking for Unity teach North Indian kids also one of the South Indian languages instead of French or German
Correct. Indian regional languages should be promoted instead of foreign languages.
South Indians are very welcoming .. as long as you respect their culture ways of living...
Could you please share where were you staying while living in Chennai? Affordable places?
Thank you so much ..finally got relief as a North Indian😄
I'm glad :)
It's a lovely place ,just visited jan.9th & I found people are so emphatic and polite.

So true... 😍😍
Yess 😊 so you enjoy your time there 😉
Chennains are very cool people in hot weather.
Good , someone experienced is talking about South India..
These Bollywood movies make fun of South Indians...and created all the misconceptions.
What about our tamizh non veg food it tastes far better than north Indian food
We're mostly vegetarians.
You can have both non veg and veg. You should try sea foods.
Waaaao... nice lie...... south indian never support north indians.. they discriminate like hell.amd and waha maid lgani ho.. wo adha kaam krke bhi loot legi.... atm ki treh use kregi no extra help.. Language ka bhot fayda uthate h... paise loot te sbjio tak m bi.... cheap mentality hoti h... my andhra pradesh experience... Suffering
