    I know this video is slighly old, but I feel I'd like to add that the term 'Rus' is disputed where it comes from between the old norse word roðr (to row) and the region in Sweden called Roslagen where it's believed Rurik came from. The latter is more commonly believed since it's said that's the reason the finnish call Sweden 'Routsi'.

      @@orim298s the most significant discoveries about ancient Russia were made by Soviet scientists. They never erased anything, on the contrary, presented in detail all the historical aspects of the past. The only rule that was in Soviet propaganda was to make the kings a bit strange, you know, extravagant in pop culture, to show that the Soviet government was wiser than tsars. But in the scientific literature, everything was as reliable and detailed as possible. Including at school. That's all. Except for the personality of the tsars, all other aspects were worked out in detail and were even extolled in some way. Especially the images of peasants and folk culture.

    Я люблю историю, спасибо Дарья. The Norman theory? I wonder if it matters in the long run. If they ruled for 700 years then they are Russian. There a Scandinavian people all over the world and they would see themselves as a citizen of whatever country they live in. Although, I sort of understand. In the early 2000s Australia made a turn to the right and now racism, fascism, bullying & lying are now embedded in the behaviour of many Australians. I hate this new attitude and I find myself wishing I was living in Europe. Either Slovenia or Russia. Because of my health I can't leave Australia. The health system is too good. But I no longer identify as Australian as strongly as I did when I was younger. The main exception, of course, is sport. I will support Australia in all sporting contests (with a soft spot for Slovenia).

      Judging by historical sources, the second generation after Rurik (his grandson Svyatoslav Igorevich) was already Russian-speaking and a carrier of Slavic culture. There a small Scandinavian squad that came with Rurik, very quickly incorporated and assimilated with the local population.

  • @YummYakitori
    @YummYakitori 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    According to FTDNA's Russian Nobility Project conducted in collaboration with the Russian Assembly of the Nobility, Rurik's descendants most notably through the house of Monomakhovich belonged to Y-DNA Haplogroup N1c1d-L550 which has been found in the Roslagen area of Sweden, not the typical Slavic Y-DNA haplogroup R1a, which has been found through the line of Oleg of Chernigov, but has been largely discredited because the samples of R1a subclades which have been collected belong to many different branches, and they do not converge at the right time (862 AD being approximately 1150 years ago). Rurik was undoubtedly of Scandinavian origin.

      Это неправда. Проект "Русское дворянство" финансировался на деньги США для создания ложной пропаганды. Выводы данного проекта являются псевдонаучными и лживыми, так для участия в этом проекте не были допущены прямые потомки Рюрика, живущие в России и имеющие подтверждённую родословную. В проекте "Русское дворянство" допускались только живущие в Швеции шведы в 10 поколениях, родословная которых была указана ими с их слов по принципу "я швед, я придумал и сам поверил, что я потомок Рюрика, вы мне должны верить, чтоб оправдать деньги ЦРУ", поэтому у этих шведов нашли только гаплогруппу Y-ДНК N1c1d-L550 скандинавского подвида, произошедшую от гаплогруппы Y-ДНК N1c1d русского подвида, то есть лишний раз доказали, что скандинавы произошли от русских, об этом и так всем известно, к примеру, Вещий Олег, от древнерусского имени Олег произошли скандинавское имя Хельга. Проведённое параллельное исследование потомков Рюрика, живущих в России с подтверждённой родословной доказало, что их предок "Рюрик" жил ранее 9 века, примерно на 200 лет, и в генах обнаружена русская гаплогруппа Y-ДНК R1a и первичная Y-ДНК N1c1d от которой образовалась гаплогруппу Y-ДНК N1c1d-L550 скандинавского подвида - шведы, норвежцы, и гаплогруппу Y-ДНК N1c1d южнобалтийского подвида - поляки, юные балты. Выводы данного исследования логичны, так как во-первых - Повесть Временных Лет является шведской подделкой 17 века, бумага и чернила на этом документе это полностью подтверждают, во-вторых какое государство шведы могли создать если в тот период сами не имели никакого своего государства, в-третьих шведская подделка 17 Повесть Временных Лет не подтверждается никакими другими источниками других стран, что и понятно так как является фальсификатом 17 века. В России смеются над теми, кто создал и поддерживает Нормандскую Теорию основанную на шведской подделке 17 века Повести Временных Лет.

    • @Gamulyator
      @Gamulyator 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you mean the name, no. The name comes from the self-designation of the Vikings (in Russian: Varangians), who, being not too loved in Europe for constant raids and looting, in the East of Europe were represented as "rowers", or, in Scandinavian, "ryuotsi". Initially, their name was changed by local Finno-Ugric tribes in their own way ("Rus"), and then this name passed to the newly formed state.
      Well, the modern name "Russia" is also the same "Rus", only pronounced in the Greek manner. At that time (17th century) Rus/Russia had very extensive contacts with the Greeks, both scientific and engineering, and cultural. In fact, one of the reasons for this alteration from Russia to Russia was that the reigning in the 17th century, Prince Ivan the terrible, was related to the Imperial dynasty of Byzantium (his grandmother was the daughter of the Emperor). There is still a rather complicated story about how Ivan the terrible proclaimed himself Emperor (Tsar), and then confirmed the claim, and the right to claim such a title he had not only through the Byzantine dynasty, but also by the right to capture the main fragments of the former Golden Horde, which was also an Empire (Tsarstvo). That is, along with the change in status, Ivan also made a "rebranding" of the state.
      I must say that some people are offended by the fact that the name of the country and people came from the self-name of the Vikings in that territory, but personally I do not see anything derogatory here. In the then climatic conditions in which the Slavic tribes were located on the Eastern European plain, the self-emergence of the state was impossible. And the fact that Russia arose there and even survived, this in itself is a great paradox of history.

    You do nice work Daria Thank You. I'm glad you made the caveat about historical dates and events are really controversial. I am enthralled with the new historical and chronological studies from Moscow State University and most especially the monumental works of A.T. Fomenko. Professor Alexander Zinoviev of Moscow State University says that Fomenko has made the greatest discovery in contemporary historical science which is that the entire history of humanity up until the XVII century is a forgery of global proportions. As to Russian history in particular they found that the Romanovian historians deliberately shifted the old chronicles 300-400 years into the past. There is much work to be done to rescue the truths of our past, for as George Orwell veraciously noted that 'they who control the past control the present and they who control the present control the future'. See www.chronologia.org for additional information...

    • @mirsad96
      @mirsad96 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it wouldn't. Because DNA says almost nothing about modern nationalities and/or cultures. For instance, culturally the Hungarians and the south Slavs are different and they speak very different languages, but genetically they are almost identical. This is much the same between people in Finland and people in Saint Petersburg for instance. And putting over a thousand years on top of that would make it completely impossible to get any answers about this subject.

      Варанги есть суть наёмники византийской империи, не удивительно, что по пути следования наемников в Царьград и обратно появлялись подобные топонимы

    никакой киевской руси в природе небыло! Сказки! Была Русь! Новгород никогда не был Русью. Бред! Почитайте берестейские грамоты до 13 - 14 веков новгородцев.

      Я читал. А ты? "Якове, брате, еби лёжа, ебехото, аесово" (с) одна из берестяных записок из Новгорода, 12 век
      В переводе - "Яков, братишка, не выёбывайся (еби лёжа, т.е. будь как все), яйцесуй похотливый"
      Другими словами - держи своё убогое мнение при себе.

      Киевская Русь это название придумали историки 19 века. Новгород подчинялся Руси (Рюриковичам). Первоначально название Русь применялось лишь к среднему поднепровью, но в последствии перешло и на другие земли, где преобладало русское население (Галич, Суздаль, Смоленск).

    *Kyivan Rus was only Ukrainian country. Moscow is a capital of the Ugro-finnic Russia. Interesting fact that Moscow was created in period of 1259-1272 by the Mongol Khan Mengu-Timur in Golden Horde, and Muscovy (the modern Russia) as an ulus of Horde was created in 1277 by the same Khan. Then Muscovy was a vassal of the Crimean Khanate until 1700. That year Muscovy appeared as an independent country for the first time in history. It became a powerful because of ugly, wild and humiliated status from Golden Horde without any education. Although Karl Marx said that too. Russia's culture and elements: kokoshka, balalayka, kosovorotka, cult of bears and birches, dish of pelmeni, soup shci are UGRO-FINNIC, but also there are many Turks, Tatars. These all true facts are based on the historical documents.*
