Thank you for this video. I was able to repair my Black and Decker mini refrigerator. I actually found the replacement part on Amazon for $5.00. There we a few different vendors with different prices and I figured the price would have gone up since this video was made. But I got it for $5.00. It was a great suggestion to take pictures. The pictures helped with reversing the process of getting everything back together again correctly. Again, thank you!
I use my mini fridge in my classroom during the school year and on my patio during the summers. I was going to toss it out when it stopped cooling, then coming on altogether, but decided to troubleshoot before doing so. Thanks to your video, I was able to replace the relay with a part I too ordered from Amazon. It took me about 4 mins to put everything back together. When I ordered, the part was about $9-ish, but still, way cheaper than the cost of a new fridge. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge/work! Have a great day!
You just saved me over $100!!! Thank you! I got the piece ordered off Amazon for $6.99 and it actually gave me 2! So now my fridge works and I have a back up!
Maybe a small warning. Check the resistance in the compressor to make sure it isn't shorted. Great video! I needed to remember how to do the two plugs back and this helped. Sadly it blew again meaning there's an internal short.
My fridge is on the fritz and the compressor not even coming on. Could I have the same problem? Or could the compressor be my problem? At first, the compressor kicked on, but the fridge just didn't cool...now it (compressor) doesn't even come on. Sorry for all the questions, maybe I missed the part where you stated the problem with the fridge. I'd appreciate your help. Oh yeah, my black box has a silver thingy holding it in place, how do I get it off?
Thx. Ordered the part. I did notice that the top bracket that is to connect the black doesn't stay on by itself. Was it supposed to snap in and hold on its own?. I guess I'll wait for the parts to come.
The compressor on mine is actually running. New fridge of the same brand/model #, but it's still not cooling. It just lights up and makes noise like it's working.
A few weeks ago, I noticed it had defrosted. There was no sound of the compressor running. I looked this problem up and a number of results suggested replacing the start relay and / or overload. I ordered replacement parts, and they have now arrived, however I have misplaced the photograph I took of the original wiring. The start relay is a 3 pin relay Could someone please advise on how this should be wired? The brown and blue pair of wires both came from what looks like a capacitor box. The blue and white wires appear to come from what I believe to be a thermostat box, which is then connected to the mains.
My overload relay rattles, too. (Have the two-piece set up like you do). Can't seem to find that part as easily. Going to at least replace the starter relay for $5 and see what happens.
Hi, my mini fridge had two cables, but someone else welded the cables, and I only see two cables, the fridge has three connectors, which one is the negative and the power line, it has white and a yellow one. Please live me a positive comment thanks"

black & white little part above it called "Overload C" (if i understood you right). Make sure you purchase the right part. they all look the same, i had to call manufacturer customer service to find out the right part number. Because number of the original overload didn't make any sense

Thank you for the video. My fridge is kicking on, for 2 seconds, then it kicks right back off. I changed the part as indicated in this video, but the fridge keeps kicking right back off. Any suggestions as to what it could be now?

it looks like i have the same refrigerator. how do you take the cap off? it seems like it has something to do with the metal part in the back and i see it in your video, but your video already has it off. also, did your problem a part of compressor not running with a clicking noise? thanks.
Mine does the same. Brand new china parts from amazon. Wired correctly. Runs for about 30sec then makes a click sound then shuts off for 2 minutes makes click sound and turn on for another 30 sec. Again and again.

How did you take the safety cap off?? I can't seem to get it off because of a metal piece. I don't see it in your video
It's like a clamp wrapped around the plastic cap. Just simply spread sides and pull it towards you
