Note that the footage in the video is older and before I reached around 4.5k HP and changed my build and yes the one shots continue and all the other problems I speak about in this video are still present.
There's been only 1 balance patch since release. If you want better survivability then you need more defenses, and rn energy shield is better than life. Additionally you have other things llke converting physical damage into ele and so on. I agree that poe 2's endgame isnt there yet but that should be expected frankly. Poe 1 has had a decade of development and thus Poe 2 can't possibly compete with that. Poe 2 plays exactly like Poe 1 so I'd genuinely recommend playing Poe 1 rn if you aren't enjoying poe 2.
Yeah I got bored at around level 85 and hard stopped at level 88. Mob killing simulator (maps) is so boring and dying is definitely over punishing to the point of it being unfun and more stress than it's worth. I get that it's early access but it's kinda crazy that the devs looked at all of this on paper and were like "Yup, players will love this".
The devs 100% did not give themselves decently geared mid 80 characters and try endgame, if they had it wouldn't play the way it does, this game was a pump and dump, theres still left over code from poe1 lol. its pathetic, i had so much hope and honestly just feel betrayed. the game is bad, really really bad.
Mob killing simulator is no different from POE1. If anything, I hate how slow this mob killing simulator is compared to POE1. And the lack of rewards comparatively too.
Is crazy to think about how angry people were about items being bricked in D4, when it was one specific part of the crafting that you only had to do once and you got multiple rerolls before the item was bricked, with nearly complete control in every other area of crafting, and now POE2 has a crafting system essentially built on bricking and throwing away items and the general feeling is, yeah, this is fine.
And that's not the only example of stuff people hate in D4 yet give a pass in PoE2. I get it, I'm loving the game too - AND - this is EA, we all paid our $30 (some much more) for the purpose of reporting not only what we like, but what we don't like and what doesn't work for us.
Mapping is just a fancy pit, honestly... it's you repeating the same shit and grinding mindless and endlessly, while trying to get currencies to use on the trade site (not even trying to gamble items cuz its just a waste of time). It doesnt matter it this is EA, it has all to do with dev mentality and design philosophy... if they dont change any of this, the game will die very, VERY fast.
I'm convinced the current endgame is just a placeholder GGG constructed in one day and what we'll truly experience in the finished product should be much improved. **puts copium pipe down**
I have NO idea why the two least liked mechanics in POE1(Sanctum, Ultimatum), get chosen as mandatory ascension mechanics in POE2. It's as if the loser who designed them - was put in charge of designing POE2. >.< I instantly stopped playing POE2 when my friends said these were the mechanics. lol.
They absolutely said the end game was essentially a place holder only developed over a few months so we would atleast have something to do after campaign
@@DyabeeteezTVprecisely, it's simply just "there" rn, it's LITERALLY an early access experience, it's MEANT to be unbalanced and unfinished. I'm not sure wtf everyone else is smokin to think they deserve a fully balanced, fully finished game in early access
I agree completely I found the mapping to be a chore and just endless wandering around these huge maps with no checkpoints. Campaign was amazing though
lmao man, now and days 99.99% of games are just hype at launch. I got excited to play this game and was through the campaign etc, but end game kills it BIG TIME.
you just don't have the right build my man and probably don't pay attention and think that this is diablo, when u know how every mob works you will know when to not stand in some places, just a skill issue in my opinion
@@dean4090pretty sure it's not skill, I quit at lv45 because I got tunnel vision staring at a mini map & running to see the same edge of screen . I felt claustrophobic so my favourite part of poe2 was turning it off
Same. Yesterday I went back to try one map. I was one shotted by some random thing on the ground, some tiny spark or whatever it was, I couldn't even see it, and there wasn't any monster nearby that would die. 2k life 4k es gone in an instant, all res full. Alt F4, nothing to do there.
@dean4090 chill the thing is these are the kind of people we Need to put the game down so GGG can get to cooking. Cuz he’s right, atm POE2 endgame is ass lol. I’m literally counting the days until POE1 ladder reset. POE2 just ain’t ready yet. It needs to cook.
I stopped playing endgame when, after 100+ maps to get 3 citadel fragments I realized you get 1 attempt at the monolith, which is comprised of totally new bosses with numerous 1 shot mechanics. So, you either die and get another retry in 12-20+ hours of map farming or spoil the fight to youtube the strats and hope you don't make 1 mistake. I imagine they will fix this but the fact they released early access in a way so contrary to the previous game and very obviously UNFUN is baffling to me. This is setting aside the fact that there's very few endgame viable builds (humongous damage variances/imbalances) and how poorly implemented the RNG confetti trials are (esp 3 and 4).
@@Slythey not saying don’t talk about the game, but you are all acting like this is how the game will be when it goes public. Yes the the game has issues, I’m well aware of it, but the difference is that take your complaints to where GGG can actually see your complaints alongside with the rest of the community. You want this game to be better, then flipping do something to help make it better, instead of complaining about it and doing nothing.
@@fragilefilter you're exaggerating and extrapolating your own wild interpretation to lend better credit to your out of place initial reply. i'm talking about the current state of the game and you came in with a low effort, copy paste wisemouth reply.
I have 4000 hours with Path of Exile 1. PoE 2 it's PoE 1 with better graphics and campaign but: Without crafting. Hard punishing (like and hardcore version). Giant tedious maps. You're slow like a dead cow. Every single spell cost too much resource from the beginning. You can't see a shit on the ground with clutters, colors, spell and everything on the ground. Enemies can use all oneshot spells without cd. Many white or blue mob are tuned bad like a Boss (too much damage or too much hp wtf) Everything can kill you off-screen with blink, dash, jump, teleport and hey...you can roll! We love to spam whisps for trade without any answers. You can't turn off that damned auto aiming that is a shit. And I can continue with tons of issues. We needs PoE 2? Not for now.
While i do not deny any of your arguments, you also still have to realize it is EA, and the worst state of poe2 it will ever be in. It will only get better. And more than 60% of the game is still missing, and there are tons of bugs and issues. They have also fixed a ton already. But the game is by no means bad as people want to make it out to be.
I remember having a great time with, some will not believe, Diablo3 in 2012/2013, then POE1 came out, i tried it and i hated it. Years later i saw some videos of POE1 endgame chars and i told myself, ok, fight throught it, looks cool. And i had the best experience and so much fun, playing 11k hours POE1, tons of different chars. Then POE2 came out, i had fun in the campaign, now i am Level80 Warrior finding Level1 Waystones all the time instead of higher levels and cannot progress. But i stopped playing, because POE2 keeps freezing my whole pc, tried it with 4 different computers and OS, still get frozen. This game is not rewarding the time you invest and yes, the endgame sucks.
Huh. It only works on projectiles and strikes, not aoes. You need Acrobatics to make it evade anything (but not burning ground). Evasion will never prevent one shots, as it provides no damage reduction on a hit if that hit isn't evaded. You need resistances or energy shield, and in theory we could have used Armour + Life, but those are currently super weak compared to ES. With ES and Acrobatics, even 60% Evasion does a lot.
This game needs death recap.. having to use recording programs to figure out what kills you is ridiculous. Also.. I think lottery might have been the inspiration for poe 2.
I can't even be bothered to play poe2 I gave it a chance the targeting was ass to where I had to click on mobs multiple times to even hit them, then there is mobs blocking you in. And from all the videos I have watched "One shots in any game are ass" I hated it in Diablo 4 that isn't how RPGs work you build your character to get stronger not to get one shot by bull shit.
@@Beezkneez187 idk what you or the other guy are talking about ,getting your toon pushed halfway across a zone by a pack of small demons is NOT an arpg mechanic. The other stuff sure. But the pushing around in this game is horrendous.
I keep getting to endgame and then starting a new character after doing a little mapping. Feels like it needs some adjustment before I spend more time there. If you don't have a build that can 1 tap everything it will be a miserable experience with the amount of enemies they throw at you. The enemy composition is such garbage. It's a pack of fast melee mobs that rush you with packs of range mobs spamming very powerful spells behind them. Then you add in the fact that the maps in both campaign and endgame are tediously F'n huge for no reason, and all the backtracking because there's no FT in endgame. I really enjoy the game but there are definitely some things to be worked out, and hopefully the early access get's us to a good place.
There are so many questions to ask, why are enemies 3 times faster than you? Why can trash mobs one tap you? Why is chaos damage from an enemy so damn strong? Why is killing a rare or boss give you the same EXP as killing a trash mob?Why is crafting items is nonexistent? Why do I lose EXP and map progression when I die? Also why are the enemy targeting and accuracy feel like they have a auto aim mod they never miss? Ridiculous...
I’m not even to maps yet but I expect this is what I’ll do. I don’t get to play a ton, just a little in the evenings, and have a warrior in Act 2 Cruel. If it’s as bad as I’m hearing I’ll probably play another character through the campaign when my warrior finishes Act 3 cruel.
- armor + life is completely fucked - honor system is fucked for melees especially for warriors (e.g. energy shield prevents losing honor because you only lose honor when an enemy attack "hits" your life pool - warriors normally do not have an energy shield so every single hit will hit your honor) - melee is fucked in general in this game (i have a lvl 88 titan and a deadeye) it is ridulous how easy the game is with the deadeye compared to the warrior - waystone drops are terrible - loot in endgame is terrible - Trading is terrible so many issues with the game at the moment
In response to the the title - as playing through the campaign I was absolutely obsessed. By the time I made it to endgame and maps, I quit. Within about 6 hours of endgame. It’s such a slog. So boring. Not rewarding at all. Just terrible.
@@ronan5894 And it sucked donkey balls, just like everyone, including me, is saying. You're just a fanboy who gets triggered at every valid criticism, just say that. XD
I agree with all of your criticisms. GGG has a lot of work to do still and i think they'll get there. The base of the game is great. The end game needs fleshed out. Crafting and trade need a lot of work. Balancing needs a good bit of polish.
everything you said was spot on. you are still gonna get a lot of shit though because most poe players have invested hundreds of $ and sunken cost took over their brains, they will defend the product till they die
Hmm, what i have seen is that experienced poe1 players have been most critical about the end game. They know we all ready have solved a lot of these problems in poe1, and are banging our heads against the wall second time. The most hardcore defenders, at least in the forums, are the new players that have never even touched poe1, the "git good" guys.
@@mpmr10 well i mean yes there are many experienced poe players that are critical about it thats definitely true. ggg did go quite a few steps back and they didnt have to still though, you should see the forums, theres a lot of people with 40/40 challenges and 20+ supporter packs going ham on anyone who disagrees with anything ggg does. so i guess player toxicity directly correlates with money spent, not as much with how good a player he is
@dr.drakeramoray789 I have tried to avoid reading the forums, it's an absolute battlefield atm. People provoking others just for the sake of it. Pretty hard to find actual conversation about the game when most comments are just personal insults or people telling each other they play the game wrong way.
Idk who you're speaking about man. I did spend hundreds of hours in POE1. This game is hot ass. I'm literally going back as soon as the new league starts (never)
Cuddos for picking the worst class arguablly and grinding all the way to th 90s. You actually put in the work before giving review. The rarity is an issue and i dont even think u have to go as high as 500%
They've done math since your comment. 100-150 is the sweet spot. Imo that shit stat shouldn't exist to begin with. It's literally destroying the market rn.
Without MAJOR changes to end-game, armor, ascendancy, and crafting, this game will be dead when they introduce the next league for POE 1. I have over 5k hours in POE 1, and this game cant compete. I'm very disappointed with the fundamental changes they made. Almost everything they changed from POE 1 makes for a far less fun experience. Oh, and the charms absolutely suck compared to flasks. I'm not feeling this game. Already have zero desire to grind POE 2, like I've been grinding POE 1 for almost 10 years. Again, as a POE 1 lover, I'm very disappointed with what they came up with for POE 2.
Wow, it’s called “early access” for a reason and was released in an unfinished state for the community to help them make the game we want to play. At no point did GGG say the game was complete, at all. If you paid to play the game, then you knew full well that we are playing isn’t indicative of the final product. So that leaves you with two option; 1. Quit playing. 2. Get involved and help make the game better by going to the forums or submitting ideas to the game.
I find it boring, might as well just play Grim Dawn if I'm gonna run around with no movement skills, at least you get rewarded for exploring in that game. Devs are trying to rip off other games, but they're forgetting to include the stuff that makes the other games fun, like determinism and actual power and having a finite end point. A lot of these games are trying too hard to be "forever" games and don't know how to get new players or get people to try new things, like not having cheap respecs and having bad loot.
I agree. It is easily the worse endgame of any ARPG I’ve ever played. Not even D3 was this broken at release. This game feels dated because it has so many failed traits from older ARPGs. The whole trading/auction house thing was a mess for D3. They finally realized that most players want to be able to find and craft their own loot. So, the devs fixed the affixes on loot, buffed the uniques, buffed the drops and did away with the auction house. PLAYING the game should be the focus. Not sitting in a browser and trading items.
It doesn’t matter if it’s not released yet the shitty trading system will still be there infested with bots n price hikes lol “ well just just play ssf if you don’t like trading “ yea get out of here 😂
@@ScarlettSpitfyreyou are aware that “early access” implys a semi finished product that functions optimally as the developers intend. finally someone with real stuff, its bad, poe2 is bad, it's not a "skill" or "get good" issue, its bad beyond repair i think, there is no point in playing unless you are in 3rd world country making money out of it., or you have a bad bad image about yourslef like me and just like to get reminded what a piece of shiet of a man i am when i play poe2 maps, 10/10 would recommend
The entitlement in the gaming community is insane. You can’t wait 3 weeks for updates? They’re literally on Holiday. Just be grateful they’re letting you play the game early
@@Fuzzy4650 yeah I’m starting to realize why the great developers left this industry for more profitable corporate jobs. This is why we are left with the low hanging fruit activist developers we have now. That’s the only ones that wanna work for an ungrateful group for low wages. @@Fuzzy4650 Wondering if you would come to the rescue if the same comment was levied against Blizzard? So I, along with many new players, paid for early access, but somehow I should feel lucky I was given the opportunity to play the game? If it was for any other type of product, would this make any sense? If they knew they were planning to go on a 3 week holiday break, then releasing a live-service game 3 weeks prior is just opportunistic just because December is a high-sales month. If they knew their product was unfinished, they should have waited to release it in Jan or Feb - but nope, they knew if they released it in Dec, sales would be a lot higher. @@Gasman-gfacts if this wasn't PoE2 that was being talked about they would have 100% agreed with u.. Like u said if it were Blizzard they would have said "F blizzard" smh had to stop playing PoE2 its just so boring and not fun at all. I try and have fun but the maps r just bigger versions of nmd from D4.
I like how you explain all the criticism in this game. Good Video! I haven't reached end game yet, so I've not faced all these problems yet, but one of my biggest peeves is the Unique items being trash. I just found my first unique (a shield) for my warrior which ended up just being straight garbage in every way compared to my current shield and, again, I'm not even in end game so my gear isn't "optimal". I'd like to add that I do appreciate that POE 2 is straying from the Diablo style of every item you equip must be legendary. Maybe they should make the Unique items have a higher chance to roll good stats or something.
I'm only on act 3 cruel, so i haven't finished the campaign completely yet, but it is such a slog. It makes me want to play Diablo 4 again. With poe 1 and 2, it's all about quantity over quality. They just try to shove as much stuff into their games as they possibly can. But the combat is so clunky and tedious.
Yo i gotta admit, after shitting on D4 for quite a awhile, I never played POE1 and was excited to try POE2 and after 100 hours, all I can say is I aggree completely with everything that you've said. I can't believe I'm saying this but D4 has better crafting, better Minions, better aesthetics, QOL's etc. The only thing GGG really have againts D4 and other ARPGs is their Boss fight which is really really good, It felt like I'm playing a souls game. I Hope GGG looks at Last Epoch's crafting because that is the most superior crafting in any ARPGs, also look at thei Faction System, the QOL's like insta transfer of materials etc. They say they want POE2 to be more casual but creating these unneccesary friction will only drove Casuals away from the game.
have to agree with a lot of points you've brought up. endgame is definitely fucked atm. progress grinds to standstill at lvl 89. spend time to get 10% then get 1-shotted for no good reason and lose it. most drops are worthless and uniques suck. the same players find the cracks and exploit to get good items then sell them for 20-100 divines which most players won't see in a lifetime. another game economy gone totally to shit - instead of selling un-needed items for a reasonable price and clearing out inventory, greedy players list their items for astro prices hoping to become elon musk overnight in the gaming world. the cutthroat economy in this game mirrors real world greed - it's disgusting. most poe players are too young to have experienced older arpg's where players communicated with other players and took time to help each other and gave away gear to help another player improve their build. (original Everquest was like that) I recently sold a dozen decent items for 1 ex apiece to newer players and they lost their shit because I wasn't squeezing more currency out of them. Sad when generous behavior is viewed as abnormal or stupid. also sad that too few players realize that this is still just a game and how we treat other people will always be more important than the game.
100% agreed. Losing hours of xp to a random one shot mechanic is a huge slap in the face to the playerbase. I could almost look past all of the other problems if this didn’t exist. But like you said, I don’t want to play a game where I’m constantly anxious about whether I’m going to die or not
This whole video has described my end game journey with warrior to a tee. GGG does not value my time at all. The loss of waystones? The loss of xp? The punishment for experimentation? What sick subhuman designed this??
Probably will go back to PoE 2 once the full game release and will be a one-off play, but with how the fundamental designs decisions are mostly unfun to me I don't see myself quitting PoE 1 for it. Decent game for one playthrough, maybe 2 to test another class, but definitely not something I ever want to grind from scratch every new leagues. I'm with you with the trading but feel it will never happen, it has been a constant request for years on the first game but GGG want their Vision to prevail on that one. That we finally got the small currency selling automation with Settlers league is already a small miracle.
MAN I gotta say for someone who doesn’t know shit about Path of Exile, YOU have probably one of the most well informed and intelligent takes on POE2 I’ve seen yet. Good for you.
just started episode 3 myself... and had no idea that i loose resistance points as you go up in episodes.... so yeah nice to know that my long hard work at getting my resistances up are worth nothing :p at the start of a new episode
It's not "worth nothing" you just get more later. It's been like that forever. ANd every time you start a new chapter, it says that at the bottom of the screen.
Like anyone who played POE1 hasn't thought about 75 in years. Mentally you know you need 135 in ele res. Same here. The number it shows as a cap doesn't really matter.
I have a theory on why the loot is garbage. It’s because GGG relies on the rmts for cosmetics but also know that the majority of those sales come from people who are all working together to craft the best items and sell them for profit. So, they make it near impossible to craft or find your own gear so you’ll farm for hours to afford to buy a small increase in power to farm for hours to buy another small increase in power. It allows those people to feel like the wolf of wallstreet and they keep spending money, win for GGG. It forces us to farm the game for hundreds of hours , win for GGG. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that GGG regularly sells certain top players loads of currency to keep their system going.
Absolutely agree. I am myself playing warrior and it is a HELL of a gaming experience. What's worse is that my buddy plays sorceres with lightining spam. And every time I play with him I just want to uninstall. Because he does more than I CAN with warrior in terms of damage, speed and clear, but BETTER, FASTER and with FAR LESS effort. He literally walks with ONE BUTTON pushed and clears 2 screens ahead, while I need to dodge, weave and take huge damage in melee, while all my attacks are slow as a snail. MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE.
Great video! The SuckMyA$$ trials for the latter Ascendancy points is what did me in and made me quit, but I had a blast up until the Endgame. Hopefully they fix everything you mentioned.
I cant wait for you to talk more about the RNG on top of another RNG in this game, thats why they said 'the end game might take hundreds of hours', huhm well hell yea with this system. Totally agree with all of your points here
I've played around 200h of this game, and honestly, I wonder if I ever had fun during this "journey". It tedious on my first run (as Chronomancer), and I felt that my ascendacy was somehow holding my character back. So I basically gave it up around level 55 and started a new one, a Ranger. It felt better, reached the end game, and then I wanted to try Monk. So did I. I played until level 84, and honestly, I felt annoyed, bored and frustrated. End game is made by a bunch of guys who don't want you to feel happy in any way, for all the reasons you mentionned. Now that I know that I'm not having any fun playing this, I'll just stop it and keep an eye on what the devs are doing, to improve this caricature of a game. Maybe it's going to get better, maybe it won't.
I was so enthralled and loving every second. Couldn’t wait to get in and slay. Then end game comes and I legit couldn’t give a phuck to play anymore. Hurts…
you make some good points, especially about itemization and crafting. hopefully since this is EA they will improve the game based on the player feedback.
you are 100% correct. But people need to start bringing up how this is all to make investors happy. the large maps and having to back track, slow movement, losing xp and making you do hours more just to gain back what you lost. These are all big corpo tactics to keep players online longer. Every second counts. The only way there will be changes is if players actually stop playing it. Because sure, there are a lot of tryhards who will tell you the game is not for you, or to get good, or to just leave. Thing is they are not the majority. Live service needs casual players. Anyway, new to the channel, good video.
The money is in the gear grind. Step 1. Create a game with crazy gear grinds. Step 2. Create a trade site for said game. Step 3. Watch people dig out their CC's to buy gear because the grind for things is so insanely long that players see their cash as a time saver.
I am playing the game a lot right now, and wholeheartedly agree, with the one exception being about unique item quality. My experience has been that about half of uniques are not that great and better to shard, because chance shards are worth a majority of an Exalted Orb. But in the remaining half are a handful of uniques I've gathered on my way to 78 that I've either personally used and benefited from for a few levels, or set aside for a future character of a different class. Two of these are so cool that I'm inspired to create new characters just to be able up enjoy them at the first qualifying level that can use them. Best example is Corpsewade Iron Greaves. That Decompose auto-triggered ability when you walk around dead opponents is such a cool mechanic and implementation of the whole corpse explosion genre of skills. Super fun to use and very useful without being overpowered. A lower level one is Thrillsteel Spired Greathelm, which just has Onslaught - 20% to skill speed and 10% to movement speed - at level 27. On a helmet. How cool for a melee character to be hyper fast getting in and out and hitting, with more movement and attack speed on boots and passives... I'm thinking Monk...
Warrior is a class that feels like it is was not designed for this iteration of the game. It needs an overhaul. There are many boss fights that feel like they were designed without the warrior even being a concept in the game yet. Mektul in act3 & Jamanra are examples. They were blatant slaps in the face for melee
You basically read my mind. I don't mind some one shot for obvious telegraphed pinnacle bosses, but the game is excessive. I play a titan warrior, and I had to go molten totem build with hammer fire based to run and burn everything down. Max block and as much plus to skill. I can clear map 15 no issue but it's not same as a spark character. Also, the loot is definitely gambling, and the economy is fucked, things overpriced as hell. For me the best part of game was figuring out some of the campaign bosses. The trials are annoying until I got max block and can basically deflect annoying fireballs, and I use totems from ranged cause anything even glances at you all your honor is lost even with honor resist etc. Sekimas is just irritating that it totally resets even you fail any part and token gone. The best part is boss fight and instead you do these annoying and boring mapping aimlessly. Trial of chaos is troll too, like 30 percent etc is too high for these curses. Anyway, people in POE2 are just D4 bad, poe good and wont listen to reason cause they are blasting on spark with max EG shield. Btw act 1 was good but progressively made less sense for act 2 and by time you get to 3 its half-baked. And true unique doesnt build define, random gem assortment does and weapon type. So you create bizarre build like warrior w/ crossbow. FINALLY the game is unstable and laggy as hell AND the game is built around dodge roll. Its a huge issue.
I should have just waited until full release.164 hrs in and I lost motivation to play. You can't play spoiler free without the high risk of bricking your character. I've tried four different characters at this point and my experience has ranged from difficult and frustrating to so mind numbingly boring I start to think about work while I'm playing.. That's how games end up in my steam library purgatory.
Sounds like a mega you problem then. If you're 164hrs and you keep making new characters it sounds like you've been addicted my g. Yes the game has problem it's not even 1 month in in early access, the game is made to be TESTED not to get 500 hours on it.
@@StonyHigh Yeah, I said I was waiting for full release. I was making new characters to find a play style I enjoyed. Sound like you cope for a living my "g"
Ya I'm with ya here. The campaigns were great and I enjoyed every hour up to it but once I hit maps and the 3rd ascendancy trial on my melee character I quit. I wasted hours as a melee character trying to avoid taking melee hits...the honor mechanic is purely unnecessary pain.
Coming from the perspective from someone who likes BOTH Sanctum and Ultimatum in PoE1: The trials are absolute garbage. In PoE1, Sanctum had: The Currency reward rooms which could reward even up to a Mirror for the extremely lucky but consistently divines if you were good at it. Even if you couldn't get a divine, at least you could still make out with a trove of chaos orbs and other bubblegum currency. Now we just keys to open up Royal and Time-Lost chests and pray a jewel drops that works for a meta build. All of the unique guards were made specifically for Sanctum which means they had wind-up times and obvious telegraphs for their attacks so you had better chances to anticipate and dodge. The afflictions seem more if not just as punishing as PoE1 but the boons seem lack-luster. A major boon that gives 40 honor per room complete is just a waste of a possible run-changing boon when characters can run in with thousands and thousands of max honor. Ultimatum had: Rounds took far less time and had (slightly) less punishing modifiers. It was tied to the atlas passive tree so you could modify it like getting rid of most of those garbage corrupted rares that we can't escape from in PoE2 Trial of Chaos. Trial of Chaos is just pray for the rarity core in terms of meaningful profit. Why aren't we even getting currency as possible round rewards anymore? I know the livestream preview showed it offering a vaal orb but I've still yet to see it in dozens of Ultimatums. I just hate how two mechanics I loved in PoE1 turned into punishing mandatory activities just to ascend without the consistent reward.
Spot on. Hopefully this is addressed when the full game launches. The story was awesome, but the endgame is set up to stifle progression for no GOOD reason.
100% agree with your take on the endgame in PoE2! This is an absolutely fantastic summary of the game - you nailed all the key points perfectly. Amazing work, keep it up!
Yep, I agree with all 4 points, but the one-shot insta kills are what getting to me, especially when death is so punishing. I'm out, and I doubt I will ever come back. There is no way they can fix all the issues with endgame. It would require completely redesigning the game.
Based review and I love it. As soon as you said you're a level 93 Warrior, I instantly thought to myself, "I gotta hear what this guy has to say." Your constructive criticism is exactly what early access means. This review was desperately needed.👏🏾
Fromsoft - "Ohh, right. Players want difficulty, but not punishment. So, lets put Statues of Marika in front of each boss." GGG - "...nah, lets limit the attempts to one... and if you fail we delete your character."
POE is dead, less than 10k people online, POE2 is slowly losing people since launch, it peaked with just under 600k and now its heading down to 300k. GGG killed POE and now they have to somehow keep POE2 going but Ive quit and I cant see myself ever coming back, can you?
Isnt that normal thing at all, same thing was with diablo and last epoch before. Casuals will play campain 1 or 2 times try endgame and go to another game only hardcore players will stay for long run
@@1Fuss ok, so the hardcore gamers will stay on in POE2. It will be around for a long time, all good. Will be interesting to see how many stay on. GGG will get the balance right and the game will go for 10 years maybe.
Path Of Exile has been my only game played since 2013. PoE 2 is half-baked dogshit. Even for EA standards. I get GGG felt pressure to release something. They should have just waited. A boring, broken but beautiful looking mess.
I totally agree with you mate. Cazino orbs and hyper inflated economy that leads practically nowhere. The level of punishment is crazy, on death effects and tons of 'non-visually-clear' shit that spawn left and right. After T15 maps there is an endless grindy boring end-game. Stopped my chars at 90' after 300+ hours. Btw big ups mate, Lot's of fun hearing your review
2:52 look at that gameplay/combat! Absolutely awful!! So boring and repetitive. And don't tell me it's just melee! Every class needs to spam dodge roll like it's some revolutionary mechanic. Laughable. The game SUCKS!!!
Good vid, my dude! One shotting isn't that fun. I'd add an auction house like Guild Wars 2. You "sell" the item to the AH, and another player can bid or buy without seller's intervention. Cheers! ☕️
I like the concept of trials-the idea of presenting you with an expected threshold you need to meet in order to unlock non-blocking character improvements. Some of them need to be revised, though; for example, Sekhema's concept of honor feels counterintuitive and unfair for melee characters. However, the idea of overcoming challenges is far more entertaining than repetitive, generic maps. I really hope each node in the endgame presents different kinds of challenges, progressively more difficult and requiring strategic adjustments, rather than devolving into a ridiculously broken, Vampire Survivors-like experience with little to no depth.
FFS, im lvl 85 and I wanted to love this game but after watching this I just can't anymore...I can't disagree with anything you posted. POE2 is so painful. FML
Even with only half of the campaign, the progression system, the bosses and how the difficulty scales feels too good, when you play the endgame instead of raising the hype it feels like they want to send you straight to hell. I feel that GGG wanted to stick to the traditional style of their first game but this is not a game of 2013, because there is not even a trade page in a game that is supposed to be the revolution of ARPGs, it just seems absurd with the amount of things that make you feel like you're playing something so obsolete.
I want to love it but I hate it .The game is so frustrating . I hate the map atlas cartoony look and it's so annoying to try to pick where you want to go. < It often goes all over the atlas instead of where I thought I picked. The gambling aspect is disgusting / no crafting. The game is way too much of a drag. I basically NEVER want to do the story again. ugggg ***Great video !
I’ve played the campaign like six times now because no matter what I play or who’s build I copy, endgame is just uninteresting unless I’m trying tfind currency so I can buy gear not to make the game more fun but to get more iir so I can find more currency.
I’ve not played a warrior, so I thought the problems with the game were tied to bizarre difficulty spikes, weird rubber banding and server issues, and a chat system that would make an IRC server circa 1995 blush with how awful it is. But it turns out they’ve completely fumbled core mechanical systems in the game pretty hard by the sounds of it. I hadn’t played PoE 1 in years (I stopped after the controversies started up around content creators), but I have to imagine they had core systems like armor figured out. So what happened? Did they spend so much time “perfecting” FROMSOFT’s dodge roll that they forgot how to make an aRPG?
With the amount of skills, support gems and passives this games gives you the illusion of choice, but once you some time play you realize that 98% of the combination suck, there only few viable builds. Itemization boring, unique items are useless, crafting is basically same sequence of 5 orbs. Once you finish the campaign you mindlessly farm for the same item you have, but with slightly better stats over and over again. Pros: Campaign is good and probably it will be even better with 6 acts. Graphics is good, spells are probably a bit cluttered and it's hard to read what is going on.
Note that the footage in the video is older and before I reached around 4.5k HP and changed my build and yes the one shots continue and all the other problems I speak about in this video are still present.
Are you actually the vc for Raz?
My brother has about 7000 energy shield plus Grim Feast and he still gets one shot. He instantly died to a purple flower .5 seconds after I did.
Spot on mate..
@@DarkepyonX No. I sound like him, but I believe he has passed away as he was a much older gentleman.
Same as Poe 1........
People were saying this was gonna "destroy" D4 😂😂.. Safe to say D4 has nothing to worry about with this boring over hyped game.
The general feeling is that it sucks.
it's called cope
I'm convinced the current endgame is just a placeholder GGG constructed in one day and what we'll truly experience in the finished product should be much improved. **puts copium pipe down**
I have NO idea why the two least liked mechanics in POE1(Sanctum, Ultimatum), get chosen as mandatory ascension mechanics in POE2.
It's as if the loser who designed them - was put in charge of designing POE2. >.<
I instantly stopped playing POE2 when my friends said these were the mechanics. lol.
At best the endgame is in hard Alpha state.

Unfinished.
Unfinished, of course. Utilizing contrary principles to the success of the previous game? Also, yes.

PoE 2 it's PoE 1 with better graphics and campaign but:
Without crafting.
Many white or blue mob are tuned bad like a Boss (too much damage or too much hp wtf)
Everything can kill you off-screen with blink, dash, jump, teleport and hey...you can roll!
@@CozyyGaming Buddy they had 14 years….. are you dumb? The “its ea” ISNT. AN. EXCUSE
This game is not rewarding the time you invest and yes, the endgame sucks.
evasion doesnt work too ! i got to 86% and every boss and elite insta kills me with any type of fart its pointless to even gather that statistic
doesnt work on aoe withouth acrobatics
No es is what you need to top up on it's the only thing truly works in this game right now
Happy to hear some good thoughts about this game! Sticking with D4 is definitely more fun than Poe 2 for me.
Except by one shots, you are annoyed by basic game mechanics. Seems the game is not for you
You don’t like aarpg type games then. Basically you said you hate arpg mechanics lol
Agreed one-shot is abortion of arpg, don't listen to these maggots
@@JustOneEarththe campaign is good it's just the endgame is a joke
- armor + life is completely fucked
- honor system is fucked for melees especially for warriors (e.g. energy shield prevents losing honor because you only lose honor when an enemy attack "hits" your life pool - warriors normally do not have an energy shield so every single hit will hit your honor)
- melee is fucked in general in this game (i have a lvl 88 titan and a deadeye) it is ridulous how easy the game is with the deadeye compared to the warrior
- waystone drops are terrible
- loot in endgame is terrible
- Trading is terrible

Well... it IS a Beta and NOT the Actual End Game,.. Sooooooo

Honor is fine for melee if u have 75% honor resistance and max honor. I was able to get my 3rd ascendancy on 1st try after the rework with my melee.
Nothing wrong with melee, monk is melee and second best class in the game. Warrior just sucks lol

Random checkpoints would easily solve the map size issue. GGG is having people pay $30 to figure out how to fix crashes and design their game
Wow, it’s called “early access” for a reason and was released in an unfinished state for the community to help them make the game we want to play.
At no point did GGG say the game was complete, at all. If you paid to play the game, then you knew full well that we are playing isn’t indicative of the final product.
So that leaves you with two option;
1. Quit playing.
2. Get involved and help make the game better by going to the forums or submitting ideas to the game.
Yeah bro it’s called early access. Everyone knows that.
I don't think the map should end on death either.
Yeah kind of the point
Comparing a game at release with Early Access... Yeah right!

Definitely don't see poe2 hitting 10 million players and "killing diablo" 😂
If they spend close to $50M on marketing like Diablo 4 did then maybe, but they would need a complete game first not early access.
just started episode 3 myself... and had no idea that i loose resistance points as you go up in episodes.... so yeah nice to know that my long hard work at getting my resistances up are worth nothing :p at the start of a new episode
lose* not loose bro. it's 2025.
Thank you, you speak from my heart at every point. I'd rather play each class twice through the campaign than continue running these maps.
Totally agree with all of your points here
First time watching any of your videos and I absolutely adore your candor and presentation style.
You've earned a sub and consistent viewer.
Much appreciated my friend!
100% agree.
omfg i thought i was takeing crazy pills, glad to hear someone say every single thing I was thinking out loud. I'd bet it's the same after ea.
The best crafting system that has ever been invented was invented by Last Epoch, simply perfect and how happy I would be if PoE2 followed this path
Uh POE1 ? Lol ur crazy if u think Last Epoch crafting system is better than POE1.
Don’t get me wrong I love LE, but it’s not nowhere near as good.
@jayson546 I think the last epoch crafting system is better, it's just a matter of personal taste :)
PoE2 isn’t in full release. You’re making false comparisons.
@@ripleyhrgiger4669
in reality, you don't know how to interpret a text, but that's okay
I was so enthralled and loving every second. Couldn’t wait to get in and slay. Then end game comes and I legit couldn’t give a phuck to play anymore. Hurts…
you make some good points, especially about itemization and crafting. hopefully since this is EA they will improve the game based on the player feedback.
Path of Trading, Path of Dodging, Path of "I do a "fast" Sunder Slam, ups i am dead"
Path of Slam and Pray to the RNG gods.
hurr durr its a skill issue l2p... i wonder how derranged are poe2 fans that support this shitty gameplay
@@RevolverOcelot333 Path of No Lifer 2
you are 100% correct.
This game's balance and grinding is made for the unemployed, the retired, or the furry computing/engineers
160h is an extremely good amount of fun for a game to deliver.
@@StonyHigh Yeah, I said I was waiting for full release. I was making new characters to find a play style I enjoyed. Sound like you cope for a living my "g"
@@yavvivvay I put over 500 hrs in games that keep me hooked. I saw the writing on the wall ez 50hrs in.
@@Niff-tube that's cool that you do, Ithe point stands that 164h is a LOT of playtime and well worth the 30$ for the EA version.
In PoE1, Sanctum had:
The Currency reward rooms which could reward even up to a Mirror for the extremely lucky but consistently divines if you were good at it.
Ultimatum had:
Rounds took far less time and had (slightly) less punishing modifiers.
Dude you're absolutely spot on everything you said
Based review and I love it. As soon as you said you're a level 93 Warrior, I instantly thought to myself, "I gotta hear what this guy has to say." Your constructive criticism is exactly what early access means. This review was desperately needed.👏🏾
I basically agree with everything you've said. Having the same experience.
You make good points...subbed
everything is spot on! all problems i encountered. i'll try another class and will wrap it up until they release more new staff.
I played more than 200 hours, (lvl 90 witch) and couldnt find even a single citadel yet !
Fromsoft - "Ohh, right. Players want difficulty, but not punishment. So, lets put Statues of Marika in front of each boss."
GGG - "...nah, lets limit the attempts to one... and if you fail we delete your character."
This game is beyond boring and was way over hyped I went back to D4.. I would hope the game gets better but its not its just not fun.
hu3
2:52 look at that gameplay/combat! Absolutely awful!! So boring and repetitive. And don't tell me it's just melee! Every class needs to spam dodge roll like it's some revolutionary mechanic. Laughable. The game SUCKS!!!
Finding citadels is a nightmare
Good vid, my dude! One shotting isn't that fun. I'd add an auction house like Guild Wars 2. You "sell" the item to the AH, and another player can bid or buy without seller's intervention. Cheers! ☕️
gee, and people told me I was wrong or crazy two years ago saying poe 2 would suck. BECAUSE PATH OF EXILE ALREADY SUCKED AT THE TIME
Dude, I did the exact sane thing you did in your intro. I was so pissed!
Not only end-game, imo.
I don't agree in saying "one shots are not fun". They absolutely can be but they have to be deserved.
Every time I die in end game I feel like im just wasting my time. I love POE2 but this is turning me off of it.
Making Ur build Is the Fun in this game lol awhy would u copy anything...
@@MrVorech check the username.
I have to explain to myself why it will be fun in the future while currently having minimal if any fun.
Every word...
400 hours and no divines
With the amount of skills, support gems and passives this games gives you the illusion of choice, but once you some time play you realize that 98% of the combination suck, there only few viable builds. Itemization boring, unique items are useless, crafting is basically same sequence of 5 orbs. Once you finish the campaign you mindlessly farm for the same item you have, but with slightly better stats over and over again.
Pros: Campaign is good and probably it will be even better with 6 acts. Graphics is good, spells are probably a bit cluttered and it's hard to read what is going on.
One thing i can thank poe2 for - never paying for early access for any game again
I mean, this video makes you realize what Early Access truly means.
It's a great game that just sucks. I hope they fix all of what you talked about.
