This is me putting a comment on while listening to this song in March 2022. This song will not leave my playlists ever. The combination of the alternative sound, spiritual call and the unbelievable range of vocal power Donald Carpenter has make this an unstoppable force.

10 years strong as a song that makes me actually feel it every time. Vocals are on point 👌. Lyrics are sophisticated, engaging, plus easily relatable. Best underrated music I've heard in over a decade like other comments hit on. The album was probably my Most-Listened-To album on iTunes for over 8 years as well. I loved this song the first time I heard it way back in '05, and I still love it now as much as ever... awesome lyrics, fantastic vocals, and killer guitar work. One of my all-time favorites and very underrated. Too bad I never got to see them live, and they disbanded after just 2 albums.
I'm 41 so that means back in 2004 I was 24. I was an OTR truck driver back then after I got out of the military. Such good memories from back then.

Really simple, but catchy song. This guy's voice is great!
This song landed when I was in an extremely emotionally trying state of life. My grandfather had died. The first girlfriend I ever cared about wasn't sure what she was going to do with me. Then my aunt died a short while after. And everything managed to happen in Autumn, when the trees were on fire and the skies were sunless. This song is burned into my memory like a tattoo.

I can't say I give these guys much credit for originality but if there's one thing they had that a lot of the other stadium rock bands of the mid-2000s lacked, it's a truly standout frontman and a lot of passion and energy. Couple that with a combination of respectable guitar and a super tight rhythm section and you have a recipe for some solid music.
