I have heard of people who use the Pillsbury pizza crust in the tube that you have to break into and scare yourself! Other people buy boxes of hot roll dough which makes dinner rolls but they use the dough for cinnamon rolls. There must be a hundred ways and I write cookbooks maybe I should write the cinnamon roll cookbook! Hahaha.
Another way is to purchase already made puff pastry. Roll it out a little bit fill it with cinnamon and brown sugar raisins whatever people like. Roll them up and then put them spiral side up and down in a muffin tray and bake them in the oven. They are a little lighter than a dough cinnamon roll. I also purchase bread dough to make it with as I'm disabled and I have to have a home-care worker do most of it for me. I had to come up with ways to make it more simple because if I was making them with my hands they would be anything but simple! LOL :-)

How to make pizza dough?
Bake 400° for 10- 15 mins
Icing: milk & powder sugar
Should of put flower on table first so the dough didn't stick
