I agree strongly, a lot of people criticize the film and I have some friends who don't like Robert's Master. But I personally think his take on the character is unique and very gripping and sinister.

“Runaway Train” is still one of the finest and most powerful overlooked movies of the 80s. Just an overall amazing movie with a performance of a lifetime by Jon Voight and Eric was great

I saw Runaway Train as a second film at a double feature. I cant even remember what the other film was, but I remember Runaway Train. You know a movie is good when its the side dish to the main attraction and you can't even remember what the main attraction was cause the side movie was so much better. On one hand I miss double features, on the other it makes me feel old cause holy shit it was a long time ago now when that was a thing.
I liked him in the really few movies i saw with him. But that list of credits is just insane :D Very versitile. NIce. One of my favorites movies with him is the fencing movie, with F.Murray Abraham and Mia Sara. Don't know the original title, in germany it is named "Duell der Meister" - Duell of the Masters. He had a small role on Justified playing a DEA agent. When Raylan meets him, it's like he's seeing himself in twenty years.
Eric was always a standout. He was also in an excellent TV show called C16, with a fantastic cast, but surprisingly only lasted one season.
