Boiled Potato 130g / 1/2cup
Butter 15g / 1Tbsp
Fresh milk 120g / 1/2cup
Whole egg 1 (55g+- an egg)
Bread flour 300g / 2,1/8cup
Sugar 30g / 4Tbsp
Salt 2.5g / 1/2tsp
Instant yeast 3g / 1tsp
Olive oil 1tsp
Pan size 25x11x7cm
Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 20-25 minutes

My mother used to make 20 loaves of Potato bread at a time in my baby bathtub. We were 5 very happy kids to get it before bed with butter on it. She died when I was 14 and everyone of us have been trying to make it like she did. Im 64 now and this recipe is a winner. Thank you from Northern Michigan.

When I make potato bread or rolls I use instant potato flakes. Potato bread is delicious I think is is better then plain flour bread. Either way homemade bread is much more tasty then store bought bread. Thank you for sharing your baking vedios, I am a baking enthusiast so I enjoy watching baking videos, if I am impressed I will try to to recreate the recipe if given without any measurements.

Thank you for sharing your recipe. Just a couple of questions. Is the teaspoon of oil actually mixed into the potato/flour mixture and is any kneading required before putting into the loaf pan? It looks lovely and I am keen to try. Thanks again.

As minhas ficam certas, também uso peso. A única diferença é que ela usa assadeiras pequenas, precisei comprar umas novas ou dobrar as receitas.
Not sure about the conversions from metric. 30 grams of sugar is about 2 tablespoons, not 4.

Is there any bread with Chinese style and soup style?
Peel and boil potatoe put in a bowl with the butter and milk. Mash potatoe and let cool add egg & bread flour, sugar, salt, instant yeast, stir & add olive oil. Cover with cling film for 1 hr and let double in size. Grease pan Flour counter, pour out dough and press flatish (2 inches) use scraper to roll up into a loaf shape and put into loaf pan. Cover and proof 2nd time for 1 hour (or double in size). Uncover and place in oven. I typed it out for anyone that wants it... Thanks for the recipe

Made this again today.. used sweet potatoes instead and added an extra tablespoon of sugar to make it slightly sweeter. It came out perfect! Thank once once again for your simple recipe

I've used this recipe as a base for almost all my potato bread recipes so far. I've made sandwich loaves, dinner rolls, and buns. Lots of tweeks along the way (like using honey instead for rolls, and a bunch of others) and my next endeavor is going to be Kolache. Thank you for sharing! I've found that if you want to scale up the recipe for larger loaves you can bake till the center is 190F. If you try it, you might want to drop the temp a little and go a bit longer I found success with a double recipe where I drop it to 325F and bake for ~35-40 min. I've also scored the top for the larger loaf otherwise I get side splitting.

@@НеМила-ф4е так вы не ешьте , в чем проблема , каждый знает свои кишки лучше других., в просвешенные времена люди живут вечно или по 200 лет? , от того что В месяц пару раз будут кушать вкусную выпечку кишечник не пострадает. А вот готовую всяческих приготовлений на масле такие как картошку фри и т.д. ,или много сладкого в течение дня , забывать пить воду, ну тогда могут возникнуть проблемы ,появится лень и набор веса и т.д

Tô fazendo neste momento e quem for fazer se atente ao açúcar. 30 gramas não são 4 colheres e sim 2 rasas. Eu fiz a receita em dobro e em gramas e ao pesar 60 gramas de açúcar 4 colheres foram suficientes.

I love potatoes any which way they come and this looks lush.I am a bit wary of sticky doughs as I end up in a right mess, but I must give this a try.
Sprinkle thr flour onto the board with a wire mesh sieve. This gives more even coverage, so less sticking. Also, dip the bench scaper in flour if it begins to stick.

Ya.... that ain’t a Tsp of yeast. That’s a TABLESPOON (“Tbsp”) haha. But it is a good recipe. i added a little extra potatoes and a little extra butter and its very very good. Thanks for the recipe/video

Yeah I noticed the recipe in the description has it listed as "3g / 1 tsp" but 3g is actually just under 3/4 of a teaspoon AND in the video it definitely looks like she added more like a Tablespoon to that bowl.

this bread was horrible, it did not rise, 130g of potato with the other ingredients was like water, not the thick mass on the video, and 4 tablespoons if sugar made it so sweet it was inedible. Are the quantities correct, or is it a sweet bread?
