    Despite what people say, still a good video with insight of what to do and not do
    Yes you can change the pads without taking off the whole assembly however you should take off the caliper mounting to clean the metal shims and relube the plates/shims

    You should remove the bracket by taking off the two 12 mm screws on the sliding bolts, remove the bracket, put the pads on the caliper and snap the bracket back. All that will take you 5 minutes and you would not have to struggle.

    Thanks TC, good to see a fellow Oz making a video for the Accord Euro. I bought the Bendix Front DB1393 and installed them. Works well. Just a suggestion, consider cleaning and lubricating the Caliper pins with Silicone paste. Cheers

    Great idea to use a pry bar to turn the piston type brake caliper!

    Those caliper bolts should be torqued to 54 #ft or 74 N-m. I think your Euro Accord is the same as our 2006 Acura TSX.

    Are these the same rear calipers for the standard Accord CL7? Could I please get the model number off these as well please?

    Wow... you really make job difficult way.
    You don't have to remove whole bracket, next time try remove caliper only.
    It's very easy way to change pads.

    Are OEM pads the best for this?

    • @jacobsr20det
      @jacobsr20det  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      enterthematrix11 I do not agree with OEM parts, as you can purchase better parts more suited for the application. eg; if one company were to specialise in just brakes and clutches don't you think they would be a better bet to buy items from that place. But everybody has an opinion and this is just some advice you can do with it as you please.

    I'm having a hard time turning the piston on mine. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    • @jacobsr20det
      @jacobsr20det  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you could try pushing on the piston slightly, they will take a little effort to turn. if the piston has some out of its seat then you will have to align it up, it is never a good idea to put excess pressure on it the calipers though.

      Throttle Control it took some effort,but I finally got it. Thanks for your help. Really appreciate it.

    ONE THING no one EVER mentions is "Make sure the E-brake is disengaged." Or the caliper and piston will be almost immovable. Just an attempt at helping some poor fellow.

    • @DADDY-ww4ox
      @DADDY-ww4ox ปีที่แล้ว

      Daam, just read this spent 2 hours struggling to push piston back 🤦

      @@DADDY-ww4ox haha Its never talked about. Now we both know.

  • @johnjkizer6399
    @johnjkizer6399 ปีที่แล้ว

    It would of been a lot easier if you removed the caliper separately instead of the whole unit, that’s why the pads were grabbing the rotor, not trying to rude but this is the first time I seen anyone doing this,

  • @johnjkizer6399
    @johnjkizer6399 ปีที่แล้ว

    As I’m watching more of your video your doing everything wrong, brakes aren’t designed to be removed and installed the way you did, doing brakes should never be this difficult.

      Wow John you definitely sound like a mechanical engineer how about you build a space shuttle and launch it up your asshole.
