if this strategy is real sony is suicidal.. there is no need for a new 4 same mpx count camera.. we are going to another directions.. and its 6k or 8k so sony is getting out of the business.. if willing to do so.. i would go for a canon r5ii or a nikn z8 instead of a new sony.. pretty easy to say.. an fx3II with same sensor but global shutter.. useless as the a9III is pretty bad in dynamic range... so pretty bad everything.. a7sIV has to be 6k 60p stacked sensor and better dynamic range if they want to compete.. other wise better buying a7sIII cheaper.. i think sony is playing stupid tricks.. and they will pay for it.. i am stacked with an A7III which will be replaced by canon R5II then

I tend to agree. Who needs 4k 180p? If Sony doesn't provide 6k oversampled DCI 4k in 4:2:2, then they'd deliver less what the competition already has.
And introducing a global shutter would reduce the dynamic range over a stacked sensor with similar specs rather than increasing it.
Those rumors as they are make little sense.

Bro no one in the cinema industry cares about resolution. The arri mini is not even 4k. This camera isn't for you, and that is ok. Sony isn't gomna die if you don't buy their camera

More MP but still 4k? For what, photos? I'm not using the FX3 for photos anyways. Also more FPS is not really a game changer. I barely go faster than 50fps. If it doesn't over 6k I'm gonna stick to the FX3.

Speak for yourself when it comes to more fps. I love the 4k/120fps, but if they were to produce 4k/240fps and HD/480, I'd be sold. I film a ton of sports so higher frame rates would be ideal. Especially if it can potentially do 6 or 8k at 60fps. Not having a fan would be a deal breaker for me.
