    You're always so kind to share some tips with us. I thought I would share some of my lotion making tips. Split your water ...half water and half Alevera juice. I purchase it at Walmart in the pharmacy department ,very inexpensive. While adding your water phase in your oil phase keep your blender going while adding the oil into the water. When adding your third phase keep your blender going and add it slowly ...it incorporates very smoothly that way. Also when putting your lotion in a jar, place it in a plastic bag ,cut a small hole in the corner of the bag. Then just squirt your product right into your jar very little mess ...easy cleanup. Thank you again

    I know this is an old video, but it was usefull. Before wacthing this i did some thing so simlar, i used coco butter and coffe bean powder to make a perfect skintone loation macth. Its amazing. My loation was 2 ingredients and both could be swapped out for what you have. My lotion : coco butter no exact amount and "folgerds" coffe grounds mix put in container and done
    Yours possibly : skin loation some ground coffe preground or homeground. My mix works well and smells great. Try this and see for your self.

    I just happened to order the Chocolate Espresso yesterday from Bramble Berry and now I can't wait to receive it! I have purchased so many fragrance and essential oils you have used in your videos as every time you really like a scent it seems to be right up my alley. Thanks! Great video and your friends will LOVE the cream.

    Hi this is a nice recipe thank you .
    May I suggest how to make a thin viscosity lotion that I can put in a pump bottle with simple ingredients ? Very lotion tutorial on TH-cam shows how to make a very thick lotion/cream and I have been looking for a decent recipe for the past 6 months ....

    What a lovely cream Kevin! I make a lotion that I love but now want to try yours. My recipe is similar but yours has a couple extra ingreidents. You don't list Temps for your phases but do you think how I put mine together now would work for your recipe? Keep the videos coming they are super!

    • @ozymndius
      @ozymndius  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I go over the temps in the video. The oil and water phase are brought to 75 degrees C then held there for 20 min, the cool-down phase is added below 50 degrees C. Hope that helps.

    Thanks so much for the detailed description on additives! I've been wanting to try the coffee butter. I'm assuming it was too weak of a smell to stand alone since you added the fragrance oils? How do you think it might work in a lip balm with a bit of vanilla oil?

    • @ozymndius
      @ozymndius  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you could smell the coffee butter in the heated oils but once everything was mixed together there was really no smell. I think some of the smell might come through for lip balm...but feint, and a lot of the "smell" from lip balm actually comes from the taste which is usually from a flavor oil with some sweetener.

    You are keeping me very occupied today!!! Where do you store all of your products, you seem to have so many? I have made some whipping butter and lotions and they are very greasy. But what I have to say is that you don't have to apply them every day. I have noticed that my skin is still smooth and soft after a few days, even after showering.

    • @ozymndius
      @ozymndius  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've done a whipped butter maybe once, and I agree I find them too greasy...some people say you can add cornstarch or clay to help with that but then they feel gritty. But some people swear by them. I have cut down a lot on my products, so I make smaller batches or simply don't make as much. A little while ago I donated a bunch of soap to a shelter and have been gifting some to neighbors/friends/etc. I've been trying to do a little purging in the craft room, but I seem to keep adding more :)

      The best way to make butters is to melt them down then add the clay or cornstarch the whip all ingredients until light and fluffy. The end product should not have a gritty feel.

    Thanks for the great video! Do you utilize a resource for lotion like Soap Calc is for soapmaking to obtain the recipe measurements?

    • @ozymndius
      @ozymndius  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not aware of any lotion calculators, although there they probably exists, I calculate all mine by hand.

    What's the use of sodium lactate here.. since we are using co emulsifier to thickness.. and silk amino is necessary to add

      It has been found to improve the barrier properties of our skin (in studies, there is a decrease in the trans epidermal water loss, which is a good thing), it is believed to stimulate ceramide synthesis in the skin, and it increases the plasticity of our skin. It also acts as a mild AHA, which can help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

      Bebes Intrigues If you want some of the body butter and oil oil, send me your email. I make totally natural hair and body products, which I currently have more than 25 natural products. Mine are all organic and Vegan. I don't use water or harsh chemicals. I'm not sure how I got to this video, but I made another delicious batch on Friday, because I had a full marathon to run. No alcohol, no harsh ingredients. We all make it differently, yet mine is also infused with more than 30 vitamins and minerals. You will be energized for sure.
      If you are interested, I would love to send you some. I do sell all of my products. I do love the fact that he is using gloves and his work station is immaculate. ☺
      +Kevin Devine, this is an excellent video. Your voice and presentation are superb and calming. I do hope you don't mind me responding to the question. I only responded because you stated that you no longer sell your products. This does look YUMMY!
      Also, how do you like your hand mixer? I use two of the large station mixers but I want to try one a little more portable like this. I do know they are not all created equally.
      Peace and blessings to you all!
      👏🏾🙏🏾

    Thanks for sharing where you got your jars - I'm always looking for those!
    Also, I think you mentioned something about not using the coffee butter in soap - but you can. Bramble Berry has it on their soap Calc. I know it's expensive, but I always like to use a little when I make coffee soap (I just made a Caramel Macchiato which you can see on my blog: soapsbysly.wordpress.com/2017/09/25/caramel-macchiato-milk-cream-soap-with-coffee-bean-impression-mat/)
    Thanks so much for your video - I always enjoy them!
