I think ultimate takes place after Smash4... How? Let me explain... Right after brawl everyone went back to their world's and homes. A few years later Kirby and mario decide to host a smash tourney like in Dragon ball. A couple of new fighters and friends later you get a full house! So after a few battles and interesting encounters they all decide to expand their fun to a few more fighters old and new, basicaly smash 5's rotser. Later fox gets a strange signal in his jet and tells the current fighters vwho are fighting what's going on. As soon as almost everyone joins up to the same brawl cliff they notice a strange light appear were tabuu was killed. Hands everywhere come out of it and start to act hostile... Que smash 5s main theme... Though all that's just a theory... A SMASH THEORY! Feel free to adjust the story of you want

Smash Ultimate, World of Light begins where Subspace ended. The characters look off into the horizon on a cliff before the invasion. God I love it, can't wait for Smash Ultimate.

Honestly, Brawl has a way more better story than Ultimate. The cutscenes in between the game were just fun to watch. Sadly, Ultimate doesn't have Tabuu as a fightable boss, only a spirit.. :(
Not only that but Ultimate's story mode was just boring from a gameplay standpoint. The last two levels can't save it from its ultimately repetitive gameplay.
Solar Flare [Who likes uploading SSBU replays] technically not u could do a whole lot more with ultimate the spirits light locke different difficulty’s for replay ability the story does lack making more cut scenes and voice lines would take a long time I just appreciate we at least got a story mode and a bigger dlc character limit
I remember back when I use to play this as a kid my sister said Sonic was in the campaign and I was like “no way!” Since I was a huge Sonic fanboy back then I played through the whole thing waiting for Sonic to turn up and once I got here and Sonic made his badass entrance I lost my shit.

I feel like I'm the only one who thinks that Subspace Emissary doesn't need a sequel. The story ended perfectly, there was no loose ends if I recall correctly. If Nintendo ever do something like this again Subspace shouldn't be brought into the mix.
I really think Tabbuu could make for an interesting fighter someday. He could use a lot of these moves, I can especially see his chain being a great tether and grab. His final smash would obviously be a full blast from his wings and turning the enemies to trophies. There's just a lot you can do with him. I don't ever expect him to get in but he could be cool.
It's been too many years since I played this game, six or seven years the most. I forgot what the ending was like, and watching it almost made me cry tears of nostalgia.
Now, my friends are with me, Some of them were once heroes, Some, My mortal enemies. And , as we faced each other in battle, locked in combat.. We shine ever brighter.~ (Makes me giddy each time I read that after finishing the game.)
i've never played Brawl and my first smash game was Smash 4 back when it first came out on the 3DS.. But hearing some tracks of Brawl and how awesome it is on the Wii U I decided to watch the whole story mode scene and my Lord how have I missed out a lot😢 This game may be labelled as the worst competitive smash by players but its by far that many people have fond memories here.. I did not have a wii back then and I enjoyed all smash equally despite its many opinions of players from the tourney vids.. Regardless or not whether its the worst smash or not the moment at 5:51 brings tears to my eyes😭😭 Especially when Snake, Ice Climbers and Pokemon trainer were shown standing with the smash bros squad as the lyrics went by when they're not in smash 4.. How I wish smash 4 has a story mode.. Sure the graphics and reveal trailer are superior but it does not capture what Brawl did... heres to hoping smash 5 (if there's any) to have a story mode sequel to Brawls story mode
Oh, man...oh, man...I've never related to a TH-cam comment on such a deep level! I never owned a Smash game myself, but my first experience with Smash was Brawl and it was one of the most amazing things I've EVER played, but I didn't know about the story mode until years later. When I learned that there wasn't one for Smash 4 and why that was the case, I was really disappointed. The story mode was awesome, and it emphasized a point that no one gives credit to anymore;that this game is a massive crossover of Nintendo's greatest and then some. If there's one definitive hope I have for Smash 5, it's to bring the story mode back. A lot of people in the competitive scene complained that Brawl focused on casuals too much, well, you made Melee focus too much on competitives and Brawl was made the way it was to avoid that! Smash always tried to cater to both sides and that's one of the many things that made it unique. So please, bring it back! It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in gaming!
So much nostalgia. I remember playing this full story mode with my 3 siblings. we couldn't beat the final boss so they gave up, but I didnt I stayed up all night and did it solo until I beat it. Good times. :')
I'm a year late but if you look closely if you look at the shining light at the end of Brawl, it almost seems as if a new foe was forming. Perhaps Galeem idk. I just like to think that it's Galeem forming. And that maybe that last bomb explosion that went away could've formed Dharkon.

The shot of the cast standing on the cliff edge as the slower part of the song plays gets me really emotional. This game brought me so many good memories as a child and I’m grateful to have played it.
Broo I remember being 5 and finishing this. I was soo excited when sonic came and spin dashed tabuu. I was a big sonic fan boy sooo yeah. I finished off tabuu with a sonic spin dash. This is the most nostalgic and best game that I have ever played. Thank you Nintendo, for making memories. :')

Guys, I realized something. I saw many, MANY comments, and even read on the wiki that Tabuu could, maybe, represents growing up, and as such, the process of losing creativity. But I don't really believe this is the message Sakurai wished to portray with this creature. To know my motivations, we have to look right at the development of the Campaign. During all the game, right from the beginning, Tabuu's Army main objective is to transfer many lands into the Subspace, aiming at conquering the World in the End. I don't think this has anything to do with growing up. After all ,we all grow up and get mature, and our duties, sometimes, bring us away, at least partially, from our passions (like Videogames). It's life, and it's hard, but not necessarily bad. Not completely at least cough cough the point is, we can see Tabuu doesn't want to destroy the World. He wanna CONQUER it, and it's different. Another important point is the most iconic of Tabuu's attack, his Wing Shock Waves. They remind something which have a large influence, like if every single move he make can tranform a large part of the World which surrounds him. Don't you see? Tabuu is not Maturity. Tabuu is NINTENDO, as Sakurai perceives it. Another hint is when Tabuu actually imprison Master Hand, who, I remind you, represents Creativity, and, even when the latter try to fight Tabuu, he submit Master Hand without a single trouble. I think the conquering of worlds, represents this: Tabbu represents growing up, and lose creativity like you said at first. Maybe these worlds, represent childhood and innocence. Tabbu is conquering and destroying these worlds, and basically the worlds being destroyed signifies growing up.
I think it goes like this 64 - Your chillhood, where Master Hand the kid. Melee - Crazy Hand represents the era where you start to think of your future, destroying everything the kid/Master Hand created. Brawl - Tabuu represents the corrupted sociality trying to destroy your chillhod.

The end theme is beautiful and it all leads up to the cliff they stood on in smash ultimate after the end of subspace and defeating Tabuu. So damn cool.
The Virgin World of Light: °Villains team up with the Heroes like pussies °Very handholdy, never a true challenge even for a noob °Final Boss has you kick two balls °Just a glorified event mode no true adventure °Only has about 3 cutscenes °No fighter has any character to them. You just collect them like a freakin gacha game The Chad Subspace Emissary °Villains out right kill people. They mean business. °Super challenging on intense. Will have noobs scream like maniacs °Final Boss has you fight a God. °vast variety of original maps that keeps the adventure fresh °So many cutscenes that keeps the story going. °Fighters are unique and diverse. Feels like their actual characters and not collectables
You see this is what some people don’t understand is that this is why smash is important in all of our hearts because these guys come together from all of their games and put their differences aside and fight for what they know is right and they have done it again in World of Light, these characters with their own stories coming together I think is a beautiful idea and has touched every single one of our hearts. And whenever a new guy sees that X in the sky across from the cliff and ask “why is that there”, everyone from brawl can simply say “That X is the reason we are all here together as comrades.”
Tabuu is honestly creepy because of the fact that he never makes any sound at all. I know this game doesn’t have too much dialogue, but Tabuu stands out because he doesn’t even make the slightest bit of sound

I remember back when I use to play this as a kid my sister said Sonic was in the campaign and I was like “no way!”
Since I was a huge Sonic fanboy back then I played through the whole thing waiting for Sonic to turn up and once I got here and Sonic made his badass entrance I lost my shit.

The story ended perfectly, there was no loose ends if I recall correctly.
If Nintendo ever do something like this again Subspace shouldn't be brought into the mix.

I really think Tabbuu could make for an interesting fighter someday. He could use a lot of these moves, I can especially see his chain being a great tether and grab. His final smash would obviously be a full blast from his wings and turning the enemies to trophies. There's just a lot you can do with him. I don't ever expect him to get in but he could be cool.
It's been too many years since I played this game, six or seven years the most. I forgot what the ending was like, and watching it almost made me cry tears of nostalgia.

i've never played Brawl and my first smash game was Smash 4 back when it first came out on the 3DS..
But hearing some tracks of Brawl and how awesome it is on the Wii U I decided to watch the whole story mode scene and my Lord how have I missed out a lot😢
This game may be labelled as the worst competitive smash by players but its by far that many people have fond memories here.. I did not have a wii back then and I enjoyed all smash equally despite its many opinions of players from the tourney vids..
Regardless or not whether its the worst smash or not the moment at 5:51 brings tears to my eyes😭😭 Especially when Snake, Ice Climbers and Pokemon trainer were shown standing with the smash bros squad as the lyrics went by when they're not in smash 4..
How I wish smash 4 has a story mode.. Sure the graphics and reveal trailer are superior but it does not capture what Brawl did...

Oh, man...oh, man...I've never related to a TH-cam comment on such a deep level! I never owned a Smash game myself, but my first experience with Smash was Brawl and it was one of the most amazing things I've EVER played, but I didn't know about the story mode until years later. When I learned that there wasn't one for Smash 4 and why that was the case, I was really disappointed. The story mode was awesome, and it emphasized a point that no one gives credit to anymore;that this game is a massive crossover of Nintendo's greatest and then some. If there's one definitive hope I have for Smash 5, it's to bring the story mode back. A lot of people in the competitive scene complained that Brawl focused on casuals too much, well, you made Melee focus too much on competitives and Brawl was made the way it was to avoid that! Smash always tried to cater to both sides and that's one of the many things that made it unique. So please, bring it back! It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in gaming!

Smash 3's campaign has the best ending to the story. Sakurai at least deserves more credit for all the effort he put into developing this game.

I'm a year late but if you look closely if you look at the shining light at the end of Brawl, it almost seems as if a new foe was forming. Perhaps Galeem idk. I just like to think that it's Galeem forming. And that maybe that last bomb explosion that went away could've formed Dharkon.

Guys, I realized something. I saw many, MANY comments, and even read on the wiki that Tabuu could, maybe, represents growing up, and as such, the process of losing creativity. But I don't really believe this is the message Sakurai wished to portray with this creature. To know my motivations, we have to look right at the development of the Campaign. During all the game, right from the beginning, Tabuu's Army main objective is to transfer many lands into the Subspace, aiming at conquering the World in the End. I don't think this has anything to do with growing up. After all ,we all grow up and get mature, and our duties, sometimes, bring us away, at least partially, from our passions (like Videogames). It's life, and it's hard, but not necessarily bad. Not completely at least cough cough the point is, we can see Tabuu doesn't want to destroy the World. He wanna CONQUER it, and it's different. Another important point is the most iconic of Tabuu's attack, his Wing Shock Waves. They remind something which have a large influence, like if every single move he make can tranform a large part of the World which surrounds him. Don't you see? Tabuu is not Maturity. Tabuu is NINTENDO, as Sakurai perceives it. Another hint is when Tabuu actually imprison Master Hand, who, I remind you, represents Creativity, and, even when the latter try to fight Tabuu, he submit Master Hand without a single trouble. I think the conquering of worlds, represents this:
Tabbu represents growing up, and lose creativity like you said at first. Maybe these worlds, represent childhood and innocence. Tabbu is conquering and destroying these worlds, and basically the worlds being destroyed signifies growing up.
I think it goes like this
64 - Your chillhood, where Master Hand the kid.
Melee - Crazy Hand represents the era where you start to think of your future, destroying everything the kid/Master Hand created.
Brawl - Tabuu represents the corrupted sociality trying to destroy your chillhod.

The end theme is beautiful and it all leads up to the cliff they stood on in smash ultimate after the end of subspace and defeating Tabuu.

You see this is what some people don’t understand is that this is why smash is important in all of our hearts because these guys come together from all of their games and put their differences aside and fight for what they know is right and they have done it again in World of Light, these characters with their own stories coming together I think is a beautiful idea and has touched every single one of our hearts.
And whenever a new guy sees that X in the sky across from the cliff and ask “why is that there”, everyone from brawl can simply say “That X is the reason we are all here together as comrades.”

Tabuu is honestly creepy because of the fact that he never makes any sound at all. I know this game doesn’t have too much dialogue, but Tabuu stands out because he doesn’t even make the slightest bit of sound
