Facial King, I am at the conference in New Orleans and am trying to respond to your question. A 35% venti mask at 10 L/M will have a total flow of 56 L/M. When you do the math like I showed in the video, you will get a 1 : 4.64 ratio. Basically, for every liter of O2, the venti mask will pull in 4.64 liters of air (Bernoulli Principle). If you ran the venti mask at 1 L/M you would pull in 4.64 Liters of air per minute for a total flow of 5.64 liters per minute. This is to show that once you get the ratio, you add them together and then multiply by the liter flow on the flow meter, which in this case is 10. So 10 X 5.64 will give you 56.4 L/M or as you asked 56 L/M. My students have shown me the formula and if that works then please go with it This way works for me and I do not have to memorize another formula. Hope that helps.
