It´s hard to comprehend China can be this safe....that said, I see that you are living a life most of us in the US cannot at a regular basis. 😃 I haven't been to a restaurant for 3 months! Too expensive!
Ppl leaving their cell phones and bags places is something that took me a very long time to get used to. But because there are cameras and security guards everywhere- I think if someone stole your things, they would get caught very quickly. And I know when I get back to the US I will not be eating out either cus it’s too much money!!! Does Applebees still do 2 for $20?

In terms of access of hair products, it really depends on where you are. First tier cities (or at least Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing) you can find it. Wechat groups? Yes. E-commerce like Taobao? At your own risk. I wouldn't say its easy but its not impossible. To avoid the hassle I still prefer bringing what I can from home.
Taobao/ Wechat sellers ship just everywhere in China. Of course the brands and products are limited, that comes with the territory. I would prefer to bring my fave products from home too, but I don't need to explain why I haven't been home in 4 years.
