      @@JiglyPoof7 Eurovision is a global stage, and it's a good opportunity to speak out. Why are the contestants allowed to speak up for LGBT rights and not human rights?
      They are playful, but that doesn't mean that they are stupid, they wouldn't have those views if they were.

    • @JiglyPoof7
      @JiglyPoof7 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      George Hamvas Hummerich LGBT rights and feminism are global messages of love and acceptance. Free Palestine on the other hand is directed to a specific country which is the host and it is not respectful as a guest to do this act and I might say hypocrite saying this and not saying “free North Korea” for example. I want to remind you that Eurovision started after WWII to make all Europe countries feel less diverted.

    • @georgehh2574
      @georgehh2574 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@JiglyPoof7 Yes that is correct, it is towards the host, your point? Part of the point of it was to protest against Israel being the place to hold the contest about peace and love, when it abuses human rights at the same time. It's the right place to bring it up because it's a protest against Israel.
      Not sure it would be quite as effective if it was done while the Netherlands or other, country hosted it.

      After watching this years, you really should check out past years Grand Finals. For example 2016 was probably the best Eurovision show, but, 2014 and 2015 were also great, and 2017 was beautiful. 2018 also was alright, I wasn't a huge fan of 2013 but they still have the live shows on TH-cam and they are great.

      I'm also in the US, and I started following Eurovision during the selection process last year. I wish it were bigger/more accessible here. As far as I know, the only network that shows any of it is Logo, and they only show the final, none of the semis. I had to use a VPN and pretend to be from Bulgaria to watch the second semi last year..lol

      Ok so according to this, I was wrong: eurovision.whatelseison.tv/watch-eurovision-song-contest/. Apparently Logo is no longer airing the final, so that means no networks in the US are airing any of the contest at all. I guess it's live streams for us.
