Yeah! Totally 😊 you can really transform the shadow with whatever colour you put underneath so you may find a new love for a shadow you otherwise didn’t enjoy 🤗
This is such a great idea! I'd never thought of doing it this way! Being in lockdown I only have a few of my nail polishes with me so this will be perfect as a way of getting a bit more variety!
I heard someone mention using eyeshadow as nail polish today and it intrigued me so I found this video. Thanks for the clear/easy instructions! I'm super excited to try this with shadows I have that I'll never wear on my eyes
Thank you for that video! I do it only one time and now i hit pan on a shade i worked 3 month in my pan those eyeshadow. I feel so happy that i can roll a new shade in 😅
Does your top coat brush pick of a lot eyeshadow? And if it does do you find it messes the topcoat when you're trying to do something with your nails unrelated to that eyeshadow
Super easy... I'm going to try this soon. When you had mentioned that you used one of your project pan eyeshadows as nail polish, I was expecting it to be some complex mixing technique you've come up with! 🤷 Goes to show how creativity can bring about beautiful results!👌👌😍
I haven’t found it to pick up enough shadow to tint my top coat! I have done this technique 4 or 5 times & I’ve been using the same top coat each time and haven’t noticed it 😊
It’s super easy and the mess is minimal, so I hope you like it! I could never get a smooth application with tacky polish, but with this I can really build up the colour! Let me know how it goes when you try it 🥰
Rebecca Morgan First color that comes to mind is a really pretty satin pink in my current pan those eyeshadows project pan (I don’t like satin finish on my eyes) and I think it would look lovely as a nail polish! So excited to try this and get more use out of that shade! 😁
@@RebeccaMorgan I used a dark plumy purple nail varnish and a dark purple shimmer that had a black base. :D Today I used a white nail varnish with a pink shimmer that had a gold shift and that turned out so pretty as well! :D
Thank you si much for this video!! Do you think that with time the top coat bottle will get eyeshadow in it? Like should I use a top coat only for this technique?
I haven't had any issues with that at all & this was the 4th or 5th time I've used this technique! It doesn't seem like the top coat picks up any shadow from what I've experienced!
This is just like in the ‘70s when people were using a product called Indian Earth. It was a powder that you could use on your nails, as eye shadow, blush, bronzer, lips, where ever! It came in a little terra cotta jar with a powder puff. I think they still make it. It was a beautiful nail polish.
@@RebeccaMorgan it's pretty cool- most work some don't but it's so fun putting different nail colors I don't care for I've had for years & put some shadow on top & bam!!! new color lol awesome
I still haven’t found an absolute favourite, but I’m currently using the Pacifica one which I think is good 😊 my only complaint would be I wish it would be a bit more quick drying, but it’s long lasting and glossy!
I haven't found that the shadow picks up in my top coat the 4 or 5 times I've tried it out 😊but I guess it would depend on how much shadow you put on the nails
Great question - I’ve never tried it on bare nails! I suppose you could, it just may not look as opaque. I think having a base colour helps to transform the shadow.
How long does it last? Does the power form a sort of barrier stopping the clear polish from sticking well or does it behave as if the shadow isn’t there. Really intriguing proposition! Thank you!
I'm really not too sure, that's not something I'm familiar with. I suppose as long as you have a dry nail surface to work on it can work, I know some people have used this on bare nails as well, but I'm really not sure about how the process of polygel works.
@@RebeccaMorgan thanks for the quick reply! I watch a lot of beauty youtube but I'm new to ur channel and I feel like u have shown a lot of fun ways to use makeup differently than what's expected (this video and recently the colorpop yellow mascara as a cream base). Thanks for the great content I've subscribed 😊😊
@@r.e.2892 Awee that's amazing that you are learning new techniques! I just love playing with makeup and love my collection so want to use it in as many ways as possible! Thank you for watching, subbing & being here! It's so special to me 🥰
What a great way to use an eyeshadow you don’t really like on your eyes!
Yeah! Totally 😊 you can really transform the shadow with whatever colour you put underneath so you may find a new love for a shadow you otherwise didn’t enjoy 🤗
It’s be really easy to do ombré with this.
Brandi M I was thinking that too!
Omg it would be!! Such a cool idea!!
Ditto. I immediately thought that and I'm really excited to try it now.
Ooo just imagine a white base and a purple to pink ombré 😍
As you were applying the shadow, it actually looked incredible as an ombre fading into the solid colour. Can't wait to try this!
Uhhh yes!!! 😍 I hope you love it!!!
Wow! A use for those shades I will never wear on my eyes!!! Thank you!
Truly! It's a great way to play with colours you already own and want to use more! 💕
Thank you for sharing this!! I am going to try this when the kids go to bed lol

What a fun idea!! I may have to try this!
Does your top coat brush pick of a lot eyeshadow? And if it does do you find it messes the topcoat when you're trying to do something with your nails unrelated to that eyeshadow
I haven’t noticed that happening and I’ve done this technique 4 or 5 times! I use the same top coat each time too ☺️
I just try it today and it looks so nice :D it's shines more like my metallic nail polish
Oh my gosh! I am soo excited by this! Never seen this before and want to try this tonight! Thanks for sharing.
Yay I hope you love it! 😍
So excited to try this! 😍 been wondering how you do this ever since you mentioned it in your pan those eyeshadows
This is what I needed right now! I can’t buy new nail polish right now but it’s going to feel like I have new colors the next time I do my nails 😊
Truly, this gives you infinite polish colour options! I hope you love the look, let me know how it goes! 🤗
I definitely will be! I have a shimmery gold to put over a pinky/purple with a warmer undertone combination in mind
@@Erinknitsalot Ohhh that could be really fun! 💕✨

Perfect tip! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for sharing this, I new you could add eyeshadow or pigment to clear polish to make it colorful but this technique is so much better!
This is so cool. Definitely will be trying this
I really hope you do! Please let me know how it goes if/when you do!

I will try this for sure. Maybe with shadows I never used and I know I'm not going to, or with glitters, I'm not into glitters on the palettes.
I've never tried it with a glitter shadow, but when you do, please let me know how it goes!
Yes thank you for that! I already have a combo in mind that I’m going to do after work!
Ohhh I’m looking forward to seeing your nails! 👀💅
@@RebeccaMorgan I did it but I attempted an ombré look... not the best. lol going to try again tonight! We shall see! I’ll tag you on IG

Nice look! Does the eyeshadow tint the top coat? How do you make sure it doesn't transfer into the top coat between each nail?
I haven’t found it to pick up enough shadow to tint my top coat! I have done this technique 4 or 5 times & I’ve been using the same top coat each time and haven’t noticed it 😊
I have so many eyeshadow pallets that I don't use, and I started to do my nails and I want more colors. You just fixed 2 of my problems. Thank you
Awe I hope you really enjoy it! 🥰
I'm going to try this way next! I tried with the tacky/still wet nails and I did not like it. This looks easier and less messy too!

great video! can you use any nail polish as a base?🤔 or does it have to be gel?
Any polish!!
Really wish you did wipe it. Ah well. I could try it myself. Thanks for the vid!
I was wearing the polish in the intro and in the thumbnail but I get your point haha... oh how I wish I could go back LOL
Omg! Have you tried to do an ombre?!?
No I haven't but I'm totally gonna soon that's SUCH A GOOD IDEA!! 🤗
Genius!
Hi rebecca I like your nails
do you need to do this over nail polish, or can you do it on bare nails?

How long does it last? Does the power form a sort of barrier stopping the clear polish from sticking well or does it behave as if the shadow isn’t there. Really intriguing proposition! Thank you!
It doesn’t last as long as just regular polish for me, but I typically do get a few days wear!
Can you do this technique on top of polygel nails?

@@RebeccaMorgan okay Thank you so much 😊
Does the powder not mix with the top coat/ end up changing it color?
Never had an issue with that myself, but I really work the shadow into the brush and onto the nail, so it's not dusty in any way!

Ive never tried personally, so I’m not sure! If you give it a try, please let me know how it goes ☺️
It went pretty good, but I suggest for best results you do more layers..😁
Random question: what are you studying? Remember you mentioned school before.
Web design & web development 😊
I wish everyone would do this before throwing out that old eyeshadow. Instead of wasting it & polluting the landfill.....put it to use.
I think it's such a fun trick to keep getting use out of products, even if they are no longer usable on the face!
@@RebeccaMorgan I also saw a video where old eyeshadows can be used to paint cards & do other crafts with. It's better than being thrown away.
Yes I’ve seen people use shadows for art, I think that’s so cool!!
