You can do ombre and ombre is difficult to get but with this powders from the eyeshadow you get the perfect gradient in such an easy way!! If you add on the tacky top coat another layer of powder the colour is even stronger!

Did you happen to try this yet I was curious how it worked out bc I want to try as well but I also wanted to share that you don't always have to get pigments for nails for example I got a really cool set of mica powders 60 colors for 9.99 and they work great and you can also use them for other things if you do art or anything but I love my mica powders for nails they have so many different choices like the chameleon powders and they are SO much cheaper than regular pigment powders and they work exactly the same.. I hope that helps 💙

I have a palette of metallic eyeshadow, bought in B&M a couple of years ago only rarely used. They all work really well straight on nails and on clear nail polish. I used the to do ombre graduated colour. I changed my colour twice in one day. Reminds me of when I was a teenager we used to do our nails with a highlighter pen and put clear polish on top.

Love it! I very rarely use makeup, and own very little, so I hunted on amazon and found some shimmery loose eyeshadow powders with this in mind...or perhaps playing with some alcohol and a binder of some sort to make ink or paint that can be used on nails. I feel like a mad scientist!

IndoEireannGirl Hi I'm so sorry I just realised I didn't answer your question I could have sworn I did ☺️ you can use normal polish but to get a smooth finish like you do when using gel polish I would suggest using transfer foil glue allow it to dry and then you get a tacky layer. Xoxo
What I have used is the glue used for the regular foils. Just have to let it dry. Takes a long time if you use a thick coat. It surprises me I have yet to see that trick on TH-cam yet. You can use the gold foil glue you can get from places like Walmart and michael’s. So it goes Base, base color, tacky glue,(be 100%sure it’s dry) , pigment, (if you want you can do a second pass with the glue) 2nd pass with pigment, and top coat.
😱omg this is freaking cool I have tons of beatiful eyeshadow that is old but I have never thrown it out. It's now inside my Halloween collection box. Its my SugarPill eyeshadow so it's bomb ass bright eyeshadow. I'm so gonna try this. I use DnD gel polishes but after watching this I'm about to have some SugarPill polish 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️
I just discovered this yesterday and I love it so much. It truly is a hack and very fun to do. I have a Bratz eyeshadow palette that I got 2 years ago and it's perfect for all those crazy colors. And yes, definitely a money saver as well. I'd say the amount of eyeshadow you use versus what you would have used in polish is definitely a better ratio.

Well I've never actually tried born Pretty's base & topcoat so I cannot say if Any good. I use Gdi gel polish (which I purchase from eBay) which is good price. I got my uv lamp off eBay to for £10 hope this helps. Glad you enjoyed my video thanks for watching xoxo

My technique that i showed on the video was over gel polish which has a tacky layer for the powder to stick to. If your trying to apply to normal polish I apply Transfer Foil Glue over fully dry normal polish and let it dry and that provides a tacky layer for the powder to stick to,. XOXO

Nice idea - I really need to get some sort of gel or whatever to do this stuff 😳 If I don't want to go the whole hog...if you know what I mean 😉 What do you suggest I get...Should I just get a gel topcoat? Just to muck around with powders etc - put over my normal polish blah blah blah...if so, what do you recommend as a good one? Yes a gel topcoat would be a great idea over normal polish but you would have to get either a uv lamp or led lamp to cure topcoat. I haven't tried lots of gel topcoats I kinder just keep buying one I'm happy with. Madam glam is a good topcoat but Obv don't buy the no wipe version as it won't have a tacky layer. ☺️ they ship world wide but delivery cost is nearly $9 so bit pricey. I use Gdi gel polish off eBay, but you would have to check delivery & availability with the seller. Or you could scrap getting gel topcoat altogether if you can get your hands on transfer foil glue because you can apply that to nails and when it dry it leaves a tacky layer so you could do it that way 😂Thanks for watching Hun xoxo

Do you double topcoat? I think everybody's nail beds react differently to different powder/polishes. I applied the holo chrome powder to my sister in laws nails and it started chipping the day after, but I applied to my nails the exact same day and it lasted 2 weeks chip free for me. Oh wow! What a fab vid! Thanks for the hack. Question: with the chrome I have, it chipped off the ends rather quickly, and that's with 2 coats of Madam Glam top coat. Will other powders chip the same? I bought some other powders as well but have been hesitant to use them since I'm afraid it'll chip so quickly. I do have Gelish Structure, and since it's thicker, maybe apply that over the pigment, and then top coat?
I don't understand why the powder seems to chip so quickly. I did my sister in laws nails and the next day it had started chipping but I had applied the chrome to my nails the same time and it lasted chip free for about 2 weeks on me. Does using madam glam polishes normally make your polish last longer? You could def try adding a structure gel over the top of your topcoat to make it last a bit longer. Thanks for watching xoxo
+Gelulicious sometimes it takes me an hour to soak off Madam Glam, and that's for each hand. (My daughter, though, can peel it off whenever she wants. Go figure.) Maybe the other pigments I have but haven't tried yet will last longer since it's applied over the tacky layer. I'll give the Structure a try and see how it does over the chrome.
+Sam Hugh it takes me a while to soak madam glam polishes off to especially if applied madam glam Matt topcoat. The polish can react differently to everybody's nail beds. You just need to find the right gel for you. Xoxo

I would invest more on top coats and base coats and use my eyeshadows instead of spending on gel polish! I got so much eyeshadows i dont use! 😄

adding the black n white is just for aesthetic purposes, just need the base gel or clear polish then the eyeshadow then top coat, gorgeous:)

I was wondering if I could use the soft pastel sticks that I use for my adult coloring? I could scrape the sides to make it a powder.

Nice idea - I really need to get some sort of gel or whatever to do this stuff 😳 If I don't want to go the whole hog...if you know what I mean 😉 What do you suggest I get...Should I just get a gel topcoat? Just to muck around with powders etc - put over my normal polish blah blah blah...if so, what do you recommend as a good one? Yes a gel topcoat would be a great idea over normal polish but you would have to get either a uv lamp or led lamp to cure topcoat. I haven't tried lots of gel topcoats I kinder just keep buying one I'm happy with. Madam glam is a good topcoat but Obv don't buy the no wipe version as it won't have a tacky layer. ☺️ they ship world wide but delivery cost is nearly $9 so bit pricey. I use Gdi gel polish off eBay, but you would have to check delivery & availability with the seller. Or you could scrap getting gel topcoat altogether if you can get your hands on transfer foil glue because you can apply that to nails and when it dry it leaves a tacky layer so you could do it that way 😂Thanks for watching Hun xoxo

Those are great ! I've mixed eyeshadow into clear get , never tried these methods they look much nicer. Have you tried face powder too get nude tones?

Great!!! I hope you do a video as I would love to know your results. I've never been good at picking the right foundation color for my skin tone but I'm sure any skin tones would be good for nails.
I find that this method is not wearable. It always peels almost straight away.
Do you double topcoat? I think everybody's nail beds react differently to different powder/polishes. I applied the holo chrome powder to my sister in laws nails and it started chipping the day after, but I applied to my nails the exact same day and it lasted 2 weeks chip free for me. Oh wow! What a fab vid! Thanks for the hack. Question: with the chrome I have, it chipped off the ends rather quickly, and that's with 2 coats of Madam Glam top coat. Will other powders chip the same? I bought some other powders as well but have been hesitant to use them since I'm afraid it'll chip so quickly. I do have Gelish Structure, and since it's thicker, maybe apply that over the pigment, and then top coat?

I don't understand why the powder seems to chip so quickly. I did my sister in laws nails and the next day it had started chipping but I had applied the chrome to my nails the same time and it lasted chip free for about 2 weeks on me. Does using madam glam polishes normally make your polish last longer? You could def try adding a structure gel over the top of your topcoat to make it last a bit longer. Thanks for watching xoxo
+Gelulicious sometimes it takes me an hour to soak off Madam Glam, and that's for each hand. (My daughter, though, can peel it off whenever she wants. Go figure.) Maybe the other pigments I have but haven't tried yet will last longer since it's applied over the tacky layer. I'll give the Structure a try and see how it does over the chrome.
+Sam Hugh it takes me a while to soak madam glam polishes off to especially if applied madam glam Matt topcoat. The polish can react differently to everybody's nail beds. You just need to find the right gel for you. Xoxo
+Gelulicious oh, I love Madam Glam! It's 5-free and cruelty-free so I stick with it. I keep seeing less expensive brands on Amazon, and I'm so tempted, but I'd feel sooooo guilty if I bought it.
