My favourite band over the past few years. Not everyone’s cup of tea, got to say. I got to see them this year after a long wait with Covid. Best band I’ve ever seen live. One of the guitarists joined the mosh pit whilst playing 😂 they’re just fun, and great song writers and lyricists
And as you said, it was an awards show. Imagine them at a big festival and their arena shows! They are crazy good and seem to be popular over in the US too
About what you said about going into the crowd and maybe getting jumped. I went to see idles last year in my hometown Glasgow, Scotland. It’s known for being one of the most violent cities in the uk and Lee (the guitarist) went into the crowd and had no problems. The punk community seems to keep people safe haha!
Saw them live at Roskilde Festival last summer. The tent was one huge mosh pit. All members crowd sufed at one point or another. The guitarist stood in the center of the crowd at some point with the tallest guy present holding the guitar chord while the rest of the crowd ran around him in a circle. Fantastic show - almost couldn't stay on my feet. Had to buy brand new clothes after the concert because i was soaked in sweat If you seach for "Idles roskilde 2022" some guy in the crowd filmed it all from the crowd (57 mins). I helped him up when he tripped at one point :)
Haven't seen it in the comments so I figured I'd chip-in. The guy in the front row who hugged up on them and seemed to have free reign on the stage was Slowthai, a British rapper who has close ties with the members of IDLES. If you liked IDLES, you'd probably love Slowthai's song Doorman.

Was he wearing his best Sunday-dress? I love when he does that, but I think he Bowen likes it more! 😻🖤
I love joy as an act of resistance,
As a album and a way of life
Easily one of the best bands to emerge in the 21st century

If you see the video, you can se the guitarist playing in the crowd at 44:40
Stage presence and energy is always at 11 with these guys. I listen to their NPR Tiny Desk concert quite often.
Hell yea IDLES, Saw them live recently

They did this kind of interaction with the crowd at the giant Pink Pop festival...lol
Nicotine cant quit it is a reference to slowthai track doorman he is a mixtute of hiphop and punk attitude
I randomly clicked on this video, and it turns out me and Dave are wearing the same shirt
The Mercury Music Prize is a prestigious event for UK musicians so the crowd is made up of fellow nominees and musical peers.
Dollar store Angus Young on guitar 🎸😂 love it
Idles are crushing, don't think this guy gets it at all
You have to do beachland ballroom by the idles (live in the basement)
Second this!
My favourite song after listening to their whole discography for the last few months 🤣 followed by Meydei, 1049 Gotho, and Grounds! What a band!
Do Americans even know what a perm is? And why you shouldn’t fight a man who has one? 😂😂😂
they always go in the crowd lmao
Something about these guys, I can’t get enough lately. My wife, not so much 😂
lyrics have to be considered also
Agree, this is probably one of my favourite songs lyrically, it is hilarious
Metallica new single LUX ETERNA!. Just came out today!. Now that one I will wait for it!…..🔥🔥🔥🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You don’t have to be really technical if you just make a good sound.
When you say the song isn’t great… I think you’re missing some of the meanings of the lyrics just because it’s very UK… not your fault of course but…
this actually is a great song but this performance does not show that off properly. great energy though, they always have that
Good
Maybe don't watch the live version
I read music we should hear music
