you were too busy yelling about a frog, then you go on about how he’s repeating the same verse- WHILE HES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ONLY VERSE IN THE WHOLE SONG THAT DOESNT REPEAT - I’m pulling my hair out. You missed the lyrics that pull the theme of this whole song together. So frustrating.
How much fun they had!!! Absolutley ZERO mate! this was an intense dive into the depths of his emotions. and yes there is a story behind it.
Wow. Looks like this fan base is not for me. Idles are one of the best bands to come out in the last decade. Their last album Ultra Mono is possibly one of the 10 best albums I’ve ever heard.

Ah, yesss...reminds me of midnight MTV! It was a window into dysfunctional sanity! Oddly real and just plain stupid at the same time! hahaha..."Roly poly fish heads" got promoted into the daylight schedule...hahaha...This is solid 4.7 stuff! I understand your explanation of your review, but I don't think you should feel constrained to appreciating the song from the point of view of a fan of the song/band. I like your more personal takes--you don't *have* to be "objective" or "fair"!
There were actually parts of that I somewhat liked. I was though, more focused on the frog after you mentioned it.

Considering the issues that this guy had with his mother, I think I would rather see a reaction from Freud.
He didn’t have issues with his mom. This whole song is about his mom working her whole life. Either the actual job or coming home and caring for the singer as a child. Despite her slaving her entire life away for family and country, when she was sick and needed care, I believe she ended up not getting that care because of some government red tape BS. She died as a result. This was a big fuck you to the government being heartless and not recognizing his mom as a beautiful and valuable individual worth saving (as he seen her.)

I assume this is the modern "primal therapy" (look it up, I guess that means Google it, for those too young to remember that Janov creation)on display. Sorry to say this wasn't blocked here in the States. If I want angry PUNK there is a lot better on YT where the music is actually good. Don't know the musicians they likely could be excellent but this song doesn't do them any favors. I hope this was done to collect enough money to pay for the therapy he clearly needs to sort out his mother issue (LOL).

The Line "The best way to scare a Tory is to read and get rich" probably makes no sense outside of the UK but tories (short for conservatory party) are the current political party in power and for lack of a better word are bastards and are for the 1%
The whole song is basically a dig at the current political climate in the UK and how the public ignores it
