Wow i cannot stop looking at these F 650 trucks the nearest i got to one is a full scale horse shoe model i bought a couple of years it can hook a a horse box or caravan trailer I do not know if they are allowed in South Africa but one day i believe that i will have one of my own that is a goal i set for myself.
Aside from the watermark, this was a really nice walkthrough of a vehicle I've liked for years. If I could ever afford to drive one and had some job or hobby that I could justify having it for, I'd definitely look into the 4 door model.
+donteandamy, For the same or less price you could get a Sportchassis if you do not mind having or using a Freightliner M2, would haul the same bhind and even tow goose-neck or fifth wheel trailers which this truck shown may not be able to do.

No you don't need a CDL to drive these trucks, just a regular Class C since they are under 26,000 pounds. You also don't need a CDL to drive a Semi and Trailer outside of it being for commercial use. All you need is a Class A to drive for non commercial purposes. Great Trucks, hope to buy coming down and buying one!

That truck weighs less then 13,500 so a 15,000lb is fine. If you need more strength you carry a snatch block to double up the line if you want to double the winch power.
Cat C7, 3126, same thing, garbage engine. Dry sleeve engine. They never did solve the problem of the valves tightening, slamming the head, thus snapping the head of the valve right off....stick with a 8.3, or ISC Cummins.

Custom? The guy doing the video must have been mistaken. There is nothing custom in this. It is all market parts that someone has just bolted together. To just break it down and be real. All you see here is a rat rod pieced together with new off the shelf parts.

Eddie Mcvain Here in Alberta the oilsands have SOW trucks, they have 8 wheels, all drive including 4 steering wheels. They have heavy duty winches and sometimes cranes. They can drive around the ditch just like a quad
Actually people in the south loved it (we owned it (Jon Lieber look up his truck) ) it was fun driving and didn't need anything else. But the insurance was expansive and the locks had problems which led us to sell it back to the manufacture.
This was my dads truck, great to see this truck again and remembering the memories riding in it! I miss it!

You also have to consider that this truck was built in the early 2000's so the technology probably wasn't flawless anyway.

the problem is that real truck as you put cant do what a pick up really. they could but arent nearly as practical as a normal full or mid size truck.
