I've gotta say, this is a great DIY how-to video, especially for people who don't do much car work or are just learning. A lot of great little tips in here.
Very nicely done. I love that you showed that this can be done by one person, and that you do not have to remove the entire front bumper to do this upgrade.
Thanks! I think taking off the wheels would have made things go a little faster but it is a time consuming project either way. I know I could do it faster if I did it again though.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad it helped with your install. I'm looking forward to getting another C6 myself so I can do it again! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Really nice work, great video! I'm installing the C8 Carbide ones in my C6 and your video is awesome! Not sure why some say you have to pull the entire bumper off, think it's an extra unneeded step which you proved!
Really appreciate your video. I’m a mechanic novice and your video was quite helpful. You absolutely don’t need to jack car or remove front bumper. Hardest part were the two screws inside side fender. Other than that seating the new headlights was a bit of a struggle to ensure good alignment. Would have been nice for a little more wiring between headlights so one had multiple ways to run the DLR lights wiring - seemed a bit stingy. Otherwise all good!
Took wheels off to make it much easier to get to bolts, definitely worth the extra effort. Have a friend to help in order to get factory light out and tape no doubt
If you take the wheel off and the fender liner off the fender and headlight nuts are not "a bear" to get to. Cut corners and you pay the price. If you take it apart it goes way better. I have done it both ways. Taking it apart (including the bumper) is just better from a risk of damage standpoint and running the wires (no need to wiggle and jiggle). AND - you can clean the bugs out of the radiator more thoroughly while the bumper is off.
Great Video! Definitely upgrading my C6~Z06. I'm curious to know,if the new 8 series lights are brighter, that the 7 series. Although, I like the 7 series layout better.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’m not sure about the 8 series lights. I’m sure the headlights are the same but maybe the DRL’s are look brighter because they’re thinner?
Great step by step video... unfortunately I found there wasn't enough room for me to get the job done without removing the tires first on my grand sport. But everything else was spot on.
Oh yeah, I didn’t think about the GS. Those tires are a bit wider, makes sense. Thanks for watching, glad it helped! Send me some pictures, I’d love to see it. Chris
Excellent video and extremely educational. Regarding the orange wire for the sequential turn signals that you disconnected and covered with tape, could you also cut off the connector and not worry about taping?
You could cut off the connector but I would recommend using some shrink sleeve (with the adhesive inside) and sealing the wires up to avoid moisture and shorting them out. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video! I know its been a while since you posted it but do you remember if you had to adjust the headlight beams or were they pretty spot on out of the box?
They were close but I did have to adjust them a bit. Just make sure you use the shims off the original lights (in the same spots), if there were any in there.
These lights are awesome and they add a very nice flair to the C6 corvette. Do anyone know the life span for the lights and how do you replace them,,...they seem to be sealed.
I really liked this video and your presentation style. I"ve been considering installing Coplus C6 Corvette OEM Style LED Headlights on my 2005 Corvette. They have been on the market for a relatively short time and may not be widely known. There are several reasons I'm drawn to them, starting with the OEM design similarity. then LED low beam, and the LED strip at the bottom of the unit. I haven't been able to find an installation video and was wondering if you would consider a request to create a video of this install your self? No body else has......
Thanks for reaching out, and thanks for watching! Unfortunately I no longer have a C6 Corvette so I’d be unable to make a video. However, I’d imagine the steps would be fairly similar. The other thing I would suggest would be to reach out to the manufacturer, maybe they have an install video.
Just FYI my 2010 C6 Corvette did have the torques screws and I actually turned my front wheel in but I was only trying to access the side lights not the headlight
should i be keeping the battery disconnected while swap the headlights? im super new to this and when i was reconnecting the battery after putting in the positive charge, the negative sparks on contact but maybe thats normal
It’s not a bad idea to disconnect the battery during installation but I did not disconnect mine. The spark when you connect the negative terminal is not uncommon.
That’s probably a question for VetteLights, but I’m thinking that’s what it is. They told me that was a good idea, maybe they added it. I used it on all the plug connections.
I had a dealership install the lights. They connected all plugs including the turn/hazard plug which eliminates the sequential effect.. how can I disconnect & tape off those plugs?
I think that’s part of the main harness. The small harness is just to determine if you want sequential or not. I’d recommend contacting Vette Lights. They can probably help.
I used a small wrench or 1/4 inch socket but I can't remember which size. You can also use a pliers or vice-grip on the very tip where there's no threads. Just be careful not to deform the threads.
Interesting… wonder when and why they used different methods? Maybe because the GS has wider fenders/inner fenders they used screws? Thanks for pointing that out, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I recommend switching to the factory studs paying attention to if they had shims/spacers in them and putting them back in the same position as they came off the original lights. If there are none then you’re probably ok using the studs in the new lights. Thanks for watching!
Well, that’s a personal opinion for everyone, but the stock headlights on this car were looking kind of cloudy so something needed to be done about that. Thanks for watching and commenting.
This has gotta be the best how-to video I've ever seen -- very much appreciated.
Well, thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching!
What was most helpful was where to plug in the fuse. Thanks for making this video.

Yes there were alot of videos saying the bumper HAS to be removed when it clearly doesn't.
Thank you!
First claas video.....and thanks for not having screaming loud music!
Thanks for watching!
Love them. Put em on my 2011 C6 Corvette. Fantastic look and now I can see at night when I drive 🎉
Thanks for watching and commenting, hope it helped with your installation.
Excellent video! The camera work and presentation were spot on! Thanks.
Well thank you, and thanks for watching!
Great video sir. Install was super easy on the Z06. Just needed to lift each side a little to gain extra clearance. My tires were to beefy.
Yeah, someone mentioned that about a Grand Sport too. Glad it helped. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Looks great. This job is in my very near future.

Thank you for this awesome video. The best one I’ve seen I just completed the install on my C6. Thanks for the step by step guide.

No doubt you have done a great job explaining how to do this. Hats off to you and cheers for a great videao

Nice video, thanks for the help. I've got a '08 C6 coupe my wife and I bought new. Time to change the headlights ☺

That’s a good question. I don’t know. You could reach out to Cole from Vette-lights.com for that info.

It’s not a bad idea to disconnect the battery during installation but I did not disconnect mine. The spark when you connect the negative terminal is not uncommon.
Mine came with a little baggy or grey grease. Is that the dielectric grease ? Which connections did you use that for and how much ? Thank you
That’s probably a question for VetteLights, but I’m thinking that’s what it is. They told me that was a good idea, maybe they added it. I used it on all the plug connections.
I installed the fuse to the number 6 slot as recommend, but my drl's won't turn off. What should I do?
If you bought the light kit from Vette-Lights I’d recommend giving them a call. (405) 209-5328. They should be able to help.
Also, on my 2010 C6 Corvette, the fuse box is inside on the passenger firewall
They must have made some changes in 2010. I had a 2012 and a 2013 and they both had the fuse boxes under the hood. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I had a dealership install the lights. They connected all plugs including the turn/hazard plug which eliminates the sequential effect.. how can I disconnect & tape off those plugs?
Unfortunately, you’re likely going to have to remove the headlights to get to that plug. There’s no real way to get in there without removing them.
Thanks for sharing just ordered some
You won’t be disappointed. They look awesome! Thanks for watching.
I seen one today and if u look at one from like 40 feet away in your side mirrors, it looks like a super car
Thanks for watching!
My driver's side turn signal has gone out, completely. Do you know which connector I need to check to verify that?
I think that’s part of the main harness. The small harness is just to determine if you want sequential or not. I’d recommend contacting Vette Lights. They can probably help.
which headlights do you think are better Morimoto c7 style or GTR c8 style? I am interested in your opinion
They’re both pretty cool but I think the C7 style “fit” better with the style of the C6.
my blinkers just blinkers they dont go up and down like a strobe light?
Unplug the small harness to get the sequential function. You can see it at about 13 minutes into the video.
Greetings,
When are you going to install the marimoto fog lights?
Well, unfortunately I sold the car do that’s going to be tough to do now. Thanks for watching though!
I'm installing the fog lights right now, the factory fogs are really ugly and the new morimots look sick, what GM should have done from the beginning.
How do you get those three bolts off that are on the headlight to swap them to the new one? Im so stuck on this in the middle of my install
I used a small wrench or 1/4 inch socket but I can't remember which size. You can also use a pliers or vice-grip on the very tip where there's no threads. Just be careful not to deform the threads.

Thanks, and thanks for watching!
So do you recommend leaving the Mirimoto mounting studs in,or using the ones from the factory headlights?
