I after years of sorting everything out, people realize what they were upset about with episodes 1, 2, and 3, and Hayden was just in the crossfire and took so much of it.

I’m so glad Hayden is getting his flowers. He was so heavily criticized for his acting when the movies came out, it’s nice to see him being appreciated after all these years.
He got such a tough break. Big shoes to fill and George Lucas' dialog is... not great.
Yeah, all Hayden did was a very realistic protrayal of an emotionally troubled and clingy youth, and got hate for it. I guess people went into the prequels expecting that Anakin must've been some 80's action movie hero before becoming Vader and not like a more off-balance Luke.

I will say this when he said to Obi Wan ...."I hate you!" I legitimately felt that.....as well as "You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker I did..."

Hayden finally getting the credit he deserves is very satisfying. I also loved his take on Vader in Kenobi. It was a wonderful standout. Yeah I know a lot of you are going to say "but we didn't see him. He's just in the suit." But you can tell he's doing Vader his way in the suit and I really like that about his performance.
Yeah, you can truly feel his presence.
That cut away from his helmet when Obi cuts him was PHENOMINAL
My problem with this is.... He's explicitly not in the suit until it's damaged.

The people who watched Star Wars in the 70s as kids were hating the fact that the prequels didn't give them the same feelings as the originals they watched when they were 10. They spent 20 years creating the idea of who Anikin Skywalker was before he became Darth Vader.
Poor direction and bad writing. Hayden's portrayal of Anakin is at it's finest when he doesnt have to speak. Just look at how Anakin reacts when Padme tells him she's pregnant. Or on Mustafar. Both when he's slaughtering the Separatists and during his fight with Obi Wan.
Yeah definitely it just is so dum when the actors get hate for it because you would hope people would know it's the writers and not the actor most of the time actors never get a say in how the writing should go and when they try to correct it they get a bunch of shit from producers and all them

I love that a lot of these stars have gotten their props all the time later. Especially him. He was so young and to take on that roll and kill it then and to come back and top himself is just amazing. I get teary eyed watching this.

I couldn't stop smiling watching this. The heart of the little kid in me was soaring hearing the sheer audible love for Hayden. This man is getting the praise he deserves and I hope by all accounts to see him return with lightsaber in hand to the big screen someday.
I wish we got more Anakin if only to see Hayden more on the screen.

Seeing all the actors at Star Wars Celebration and the fans great reactions to them has been beautiful!
Its my favourite part of star wars celebrations, just seeing fans enjoying themselves and actors getting the love that they deserve...
Hayden deserves all the love he's getting. His Anakin changed the perception of Darth Vader forever, and makes his redemption much more powerful and triumphant. My favourite SW characters are now Hayden's Anakin and Mark Hamill's Luke. Together, they are the very essence of Star Wars.

It's just a crying shame that Mark Hamill is pretty much the polar opposite of Luke. One of the most despicable and woke actors in hollywood. Luke was my childhood hero, and finding out as an adult what a turd Mark really is ruined the OT for me. Hayden Christensen and Anakin is the only thing from the Lucas era that hasn't been tarnished for me. Except maybe for Qui Gon too, Liam Neeson is based.
Even back in the prequel days, despite what critics may have said about his acting regarding dialog, any scene that just need a ‘look’ or emotion conveyed through facial expression, Hayden nailed them, and no one will convince me otherwise.
So happy these heroes so many of us grew up with are finally getting the love they deserve instead of the ridiculous hate they initially got
Hayden Christensen's deserved reaction and love from the fans. He did a great job as Anakin in Ep. II and III, the wrong thing it was the screenplay and direction. I'm happy to see this.
No one will ever replace Hayden, he will forever be Anakin to me. So happy that the Chosen One finally gets the recognition he deserves. 😊❤
Go rewatch episode 2 and 3... you'll love him even more and understand that he definitely deserves this.

Clearing up a misconception:
There wasn't a "new found appreciation" for the prequels... It was just that all of the fans who watched them as kids finally grew up.
I always loved Hayden since I was a kid growing up with the prequels he was my hero. I’m glad to see him get what he deserved finally.
During Ep 2 & 3 movie critics and journalists bashed him but we the children at the time loved him and now as adults we are showing him our support and gratitude he very much deserves👏🏻
I have been saying this since 2002 : Hayden and Ewan were the best parts of the prequels. And adding Sam Jackson, Liam Neeson, Ray Park, Ian McDiarmid and Christopher Lee to the fold made the prequels equally as good as the originals. Hayden portrayed Anakin to perfection and he sure deserve recognition for it.
Such an amazing actor and a beautiful soul. Cheers from Greece, Hayden. You have a massive fanbase here as well.

See, all the people who were kids when the prequels came out are now old enough and can afford to go to these events. And they can give these actors the love and praise that they deserve. The prequels were a gigantic part of my childhood, and I hope that every single actor involved knows how many lives they impacted with those movies.
Yeah, the big problem in that time was that actors mostly heard from critics but not the fans. Consequently, they got destroyed by all the hate coming from critics but saw little to no support from fans. Im glad that's over today

Bro, I don't know if this is a right comparisson but the feeling that I got when I saw Hayden almost 18 years later was so similar to what I felt when I saw Tobey Maguire being Spider-Man once again in 2021, there are few things that makes us as glorious as seeing our childhood idols back doing what they know the best 🥺

Im not one of the critics that spread hate for his role not at all. Hayden and Ewan will forever be loved for their roles as Obi Wan and Anakin. Liam Neeson will never be forgetton for his role as well. Without the help from Qui Gon there would be no hope left for the galaxy thus Luke and Leia would have never been. George Lucas should have never sold his baby , the people who make the stories now lack vision. Imagine a Star Wars with Luke and Leia directed by Jon Favreau it would be perfection , it would be what us grown kids dreamed about for the Star Wars Universe.
Good thing the crowd gave him a good reception since he could've easily taken them all out with his laser sword. He had the high ground.

This guy got DRAGGED through the mud and raked over the coals and finally had gotten the love he deserved.
Pretty thankful for Matt Lanter's excellent work as well. He deserves a great deal of credit for keeping fans invested and for introducing younger kids to Anakin in such a way that the whole SW universe is bound together. Matt's work has even led to this proper praise for Hayden.
My son loved that such a great Jedi had his name. Now we talk how much Hayden brought to SW. He is decent, ❤’s his fans, never in trouble and a perfect role model!

This is what it should always be about: people having fun and embracing what has been created for them by the dedicated directors, writers and actors of Star Wars. Screw all the "fans" who want to complain about every little thing that didn't go THEIR way and decide to attack the people who make these movies and try to ruin their careers.

Let me be the opposition to this generalization.
The prequels are the holy grail of the modern Star Wars community.
The ideas shown in the movies can be somewhat complex for some (ep1 and 2) and while we fans enjoy SW’s wooden dialogue, the classic consumer can’t see George’s deliberate choices to use simple words with delivery reminiscent to “singing”.
So what this paragraph says is that the prequels while beloved today, are movies that can easily divide people if it didn’t have the Star Wars branding.
Sequels on the other hand, the explanation ended with the news that they went in “with no plan”. JJ tried to create a low tier vision with Ep7 that the EP8 director threw in the trash, tried to appropriate the rules of the SW universe with many scenes like the ship crash, and Ep9 was doomed because although it was a mess, it was clear that JJ tried to retcon most of the mistakes of 8 like turning ship-kaze’s into a gamble and bringing back a more honorable Luke Skywalker.
This paragraph truly end in the first sentence.
And what I’m getting at, is that mindless consumerism isn’t something to encourage.
And therefore it’s not that “we have to applaud everything” but rather that “we have to applaud people with a genius vision!”.
Otherwise… otherwise?…. Otherwise the ramifications of a world of mindless praise are to many and the reader can spin this idea into infinite different directions.

I was in sheer Awe of Haydens portayal of a young Anakin and his development into Darth Vader. He made it an emotional juggernaut of absolute outcomes, damned if ya do damned if you dont. It make me teary eyed to see his appreciation for the place he carved out in the lore. Love you Hayden, even your Goosebumps episodes kick ass

Let me say this - I never got why he got so much hate during my "young" days, loved him and still love as Anakin. Hell, he's OUR GENERATION ANAKIN/VADER. Nothing will change that. Not even some people calling themselves *fans* that tried to throw Hayden under the bus ~20 years ago.
Prequels had their issues but Hayden wasn't one of them imo, glad he's finally getting love from the fans he deserves it

He was my favorite actor and jedi in the entire series. I absolutely loved him as Anakin. I've been wanting a huge poster of him forever.

He did a fantastic job as Anakin. Legit my favorite Star Wars character of all time, and I saw the 1977 original in theaters when I was 6.

Jake Lloyd needs some of this love too. Poor guy was treated like shit by people for so long.
Maybe one day he'll get a new character in the SW franchise and will have the redemption Ahmest Best got. Not saying they had any sins, they just got way too much criticism for their characters on the big screen and Ahmed got a second chance to shine. Hopefully Jake Lloyd will too.

Brings a tear to my eye.. the amount of love and emotions there.. the childhood talking with your best friend Hayden did this, oh Hayden was scooting and said hi to a paparazzi.. fresh like yesterday.. my best friend said Hayden is the love of her life.. when we were 11.. sending a picture of Hayden to one another’s email , using the email for the very first time, waiting on phones to see how long it’ll take to arrive, it arrived , we were so happy .. Hayden, thank you for everything, we are grateful too throughout this journey.
