  • There is not much information about this song. It probably dates back to the Second World War, and is the hymn of the 3rd Bersaglieri Regiment.
It is dedicated to Aminto Caretto (Crescentino, 7 October 1893 - Don region, Soviet Union, 5 August 1942), Commander of the III Bersaglieri Regiment during the Second World War, decorated with three silver medals, three bronze medals and one War cross for military valor.
On July 31, 1942, he was wounded in the leg during a fight in Serafimovič.
Getting medicated quickly, he always remained close to his soldiers, leaning on a stick, for the next five days, refusing any offer of hospitalization. Subsequently the wound went into gangrene and on 5 August he died.

Words and music are by the brass band chief of the 3rd Rgt. Bersaglieri Mar. Leandro Bertuzzo who, on behalf of the Chief of Staff of the Third Goito Brigade, wrote this piece in honor of Colonel Aminto Caretto

Quite interesting how the Beersaglieri songs are almost inevitably oozing "win or die" rethorical callbacks and a whole understone based upon heroism, valour and supreme scrifice in battle while _____any_____ Alpini song is about toils, sufferings, loosing friends and comrades in battle and longing for the distant homes and families
____NO ONE___ will doubt the Alpini are one of the most effective and succesful fighting force in Italian Army - so much so as the Bersaglieri - but the difference in ethos and moral compass is quite surprising

well actually it was not the fault of soldiers
it was the fault of Mussolini that he mad kind of person just threw his country in a war they were not prepared for
because every countrie's soldiers will die for thier country
and as the desert fox himself once said -
'the german soldier has astonished the world,
the italian bersagleri has astonished the german soldier'
