It's crazy how after getting the negative lusty joker, he gets so many chances to pivot to a heart flush five (multiple sun tarots and even a bloodstone joker in the shop) and just doesn't.
at that point he had added 30 cards to the deck with DNA, you're asking him to look for 10 copies of the sun. at a certain point it's not worth the effort. honestly the eternal DNA wasn't the way tbh, I wouldn't have taken it
With double DNA and all the suns and fools that showed up in the shop and packs, I feel like it was still early enough for him to at least get a majority of his 2s to hearts. Plus, a major stumbling block in my idea is ante 9s boss de-buffing hearts, in which case a club flush five or a regular five of a kind could probably save the run, so it would be fine having other suited 2s in deck.
@@natk4233 Lusty joker doesn't do that much. Also this looks like a fun run, he made a lot of risky plays to get the most out of Wee joker and Ankh. Even if he had full 2 of heart, he still would've sold Lusty to get better Ankh
With how little plus mult matters compared to planet cards+ Xmult, it wouldn't matter much. But, if you really wanted to optimize the run, the seed was shown. Would be cool to see if you could go farther with it.
17:59 I think the golds got debuffed since they shared the identity of the card you played to make them, thus becoming a card played previously. Not sure why it didn’t update until you used the tarot though

I swear the pillar is the most buggy mess ever. I have distinct memories of using tarot cards to change the cards from played to not played and it working once and not working another time.

i think that sounds close to what I'm thinking the issue is as well; the copied cards are cards that have "been played" but because they get created during the playing phase they don't trigger the Boss Blind. *HOWEVER* by using a tarot card, you ultimately update the state of your hand, thus causing the flag that's on the played card for the Pillar to debuff it. Had he not used death they would have stayed active.
That Odd Todd / Even Steven moment reminded me that there should really be hidden Joker Synergies to find. Things like the +1 Hand and +1 Discard Jokers together giving something extra. All four of the suit Jokers. All of the Jokers like The Family together, etc.
I know this is a balatro video but I'm never this early and I wanted to say that I love that farming roguelike you posted the other day

I feel like that last hand, it would have been better to play 5 of a kind with the 2 of hearts rather than the flush 5, since your 5 of a kind was still higher level and you could have left the steel card in your hand to make the cut.
I calculated it, he would have score ~400k more but that wouldn't have been enough
My guess for what happened at 17:58 is that the golden 2 becomes "played" before it becomes copied, therefore making copies of a card that had "been played before in this ante". Why it didn't show them as such before playing your Death I can only guess is a visual bug.

I managed to get double wee to 4872 chips, beating ante 14 with a high hand of 9.354e14 by skipping the first dna to get double wee and getting a non eternal dna a little later on in the run. The first standard pack also has a mult 2 of hearts that is nice to get early. picking up fibonacci and to the moon from baffoon packs before buying the hieroglyph. I found a blueprint somewhere after ante 8 that i managed to copy with the ante 11 invis. i was already full tho and had to sell either hack or bloodstone and decided to get rid of bloodstone to boost wee as much as possible, selling hack instead could've potentially yielded a much better final score, as long as bloodstone is playing along.

Fun fact: The word "wee" originates in scotland, it is used as a replacement for the word small, and not for what someone may call pee.
I don't think the dna wasn't needed tbh, you could've just taken the double wee and manipulate the deck manually
