I love when Skootie puts out a video in which in the middle of it he's like "are we just gonna lose?" I like to imagine one of the times he actually will, and then he'll just cut to black and leave it a black screen for the next 55 minutes of video :P
I think it’s just survivorship bias; there’s probably plenty of runs where he does lose midway through and thus doesn’t make a video on them.

I just finished a run I got an early hiker after that I got a brain storm and a blueprint in the same shop. Seedless. Such a fun run

The sad thing is even tho it is cool to scale so much the chips, in the end it is always weaker than mult, because mult has the times mult instead of plus mult. Like, when he started using glass cards, the mult was in the millions, while the chips, that he had been building ALL GAME, were only in the thousands (Still impressive tho! Usually chips never reach so high!)
anyways, there’s always things to comment on about how op a build is on endless vs how viable a fun build can be
That's true, but chips are still rather strong since it still determines how much your mult actually matters. They're just not capable of heading to endless as the sole focus unforch

In that final hand the hiker had provided just shy of a x8 boost to score (without needing to be present)
with plasma deck it would be much better but yes, in the long term mult scales much faster.
The first few seconds got me to turn up my sound to max, only to get earraped by the joker pack opening

If you copied hiker you get 4 triggers on every card (regular, dusk, hack, red seal) on a red seal card. However, Hack triggers twice on every trigger of the card, giving you 8 triggers of hack on every red seal card.

Hmm, with the shenanigans here, I'd love to see a DNA, Canio, Hologram glass face card build.
Wouldn't it be better to copy hack or dusk than the blood bag? Am I missing something cuz the glass would always be x2 plus the chips instead of just a 1 in 3 twice of the x2?
The difference depends entirely on how many times his hand scores from all the retriggers he has, which was 5 times by the end of the run. The more retriggers you have already the more valuable Bloodstone becomes.
Copying Hack would give multiplier worth 15 Bloodstone triggers on average.
Copying Bloodstone however gives a total of 25 triggers thanks to the fact his hand scores 5 times.
As you can see there if he copies Bloodstone, his average score actually increases by 32x compared to having one more retrigger.
Side Note: The chips from that extra retrigger only increases the total score by roughly 17%. Also his version of the game has Bloodstone have 1/2 chance for the 2x multiplier.
It is in fact much better to copy bloodstone (for score)
Original trigger + red seal + dusk + hack + seltzer = 5 triggers
5 triggers is 2.5 bloodstone triggers on average.
2.5 bloodstone triggers >> 1 more retrigger

retriggers dont trigger every previous retrigger, so if a card was being triggered 4 times, copying hack would only make it trigger 5 times, not 8. blood bag will have a chance to double your mult on every trigger, so copying that will double your average score

Misplay. He was wanting the flush five planet, but needed to play the blue seal to get it. So instead of playing one of the extra 2s for the five of a kind, he played four of the same card.

2x is easier to follow for videos, he switches to 4x in the late game when rounds take awhile
Sorry in advance for backseat gaming but i think you should consider rolling less on single turns. You're often over-rolling down to less than $25 and getting less rolls in the long term. Love the video

Balatro is a game that starts off as "oh look at all these cool synergies" and quickly becomes "watch retriggers go off for 10 minutes straight while the streamer desperately tries to find that one joker they've been digging for the last 20 antes" TH-camrs will get amazing jokers and you won't even notice because you're in a different window and they didn't react at all to it because they're too zonked out by the monotonous gameplay, then you gotta go back and see when they bought it and it was like 4 minutes ago.
If this game has caught one thing it's that just like gambling: at first it's fun and interesting, but eventually it gets to the point where everyone wants to keep on playing even though nobody has had any fun since like a week ago. TL;DR retrigs need a rework.
I wish I could watch these videos because I love balatro but its so boring watching normal difficulty where you can win with literally anything. 0 challenge
