Got out the calculator and these cables are perfect for up the front of the sock. Let it rest for a Fis Lips Kiss Heel and ta...dah.....a sock! Oh, a long one too so it's slouchy! I'm on the second one and brought out your video. Thanks so much!

    I love the way you showed how easy it is to understand how to knit a Cable Section. I have been watching a lot of different videos on the subject. I didn't know that there were different types of Knitted Cables. What kind of Yarn would you use? I am not a New Knitter. I like to use Worsted Weight Yarn. I don't like Bulky Weight Yarn. Thanks for the Great Video.

    • @woolandthegang
      @woolandthegang  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nani Blyleven, by even rows, are you asking what you do once you have finished the cable row? You would work this as a purl row and purl every stitch until the end. This then means you are back to your cable row again so work it in the same way as the tutorial demonstrates. Hope this has helped, let us know if you have any more questions!

    I am knitting exactly as you demonstrate but I must be doing something wrong. My cable is over 18 stitches with a twist right and then left . The cables are scrunched together, look like they are pinched and do not lie flat. Can you tell me what you think could be the problem?
    This is a great video and I just don't understand why my cables are looking the way they do!

    Hi I'm new to knitting and my first project is cabling lol Is this a c3b or a c6b (the first one). My book says do c6b then c6f straight after and I can't figure out if that's six stitches for each side of the cable or six stitches for the entire cable. How many stitches go on the cable needle for a C6b? Thanks so much for your help :)

    • @BananaQueen92
      @BananaQueen92 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Danielle Thompson Not sure if you figured it out yet or found answer elsewhere, but because it says c6b, it means cable 6 back (so 6 stitches) and then its says c6f, which is cable 6 front (another 6 stitches). It's telling you that it is 6 stitches each side of the cable, 12 stitches total :)

      I think what you're talking about was just a loop of the working yarn that was between the needles. It wasn't a stitch from a needle.

      +Nani Blyleven the video is to illustrate the technique, rather than a standalone pattern. If you follow the video, repeating the rows, you can make a scarf though! It's just knit and purl stitches, with 6 stitch wide cables :)

    There is way more to understanding then what is being shown here. How often does the cable row is knitted and how do I know when I need to do a left or a right cable? This does not show that. We need to know if you are cabling on every row or are you just every 6 to 8 rows??
