- THE ULTIMATE BACHARACH/DAVID MEDLEY - Background Track(Karaoke)
*A Bacharach/David Fan??? Then this is for you !!!
An extensive medley of some of the finest songs, by arguably the best pop composers in music history.
Originally compiled for use in a variety show (and best performed by several singers, trading off numbers - although, not impossible as a solo).
Using commercially available background tracks of Bacharach’s own arrangements, as well as instrumental recordings, I was able to (with a great deal of enjoyable effort) create a seamless medley, blending 21 songs together - manipulating key signatures, tempos, choosing the most dramatic portions of each song, building in modulations and adding transitional instrumentation, (ie: harp glisses, arpeggios, and timpani punctuation).
The vocal entrance cues are obvious for the most part, and I’m pretty proud of the many effective transitions from song to song.
The final song ends with a rollicking finish - to which the lyrics “Burt Bacharach, IS BACK” fit perfectly to end it all off.
Although admittedly, there are many many wonderful Bacharach/David songs not included (it’s already 18:38 minutes!)….. I think it encompasses a great sample of their exemplary work, and the pacing is varied and exciting.
I would love in future, to receive versions of this track, having been completed either by vocalists or instrumentalist…..
It is my hope that this medley finds it’s way to an appreciative recipient, with a great musical ear - that can do this medley (and these giants of song writing ) justice.
