That Hearst Castle is amazing!!! Its an amazing thing to see the sun set and the moon at the same time. I experienced something similar when I was in Thailand, I was on a ferry headed to Koh Tao and The Sun was setting on my left and the Full moon was red to my right as low in the horizon as the sun was, it was a beautiful moment, my camera could not do the moment justice, so I didn't even bother to keep what I recorded and just remember it. Wish I could have shared, ill do it again one day with better equipment on hand. Great video and thanks for sharing.

Wow, I would have loved to have been on that boat! Do you have any Koh Tao vids? I'm partial to that region - my wife & I took our honeymoon in Krabi!

@@JfCLA Koh Tao was my getaway from a busy filming/holiday thru out Thailand, I left my camera in my room for most of my time there until I saw something I had to film on a small island right off Ko Tao called Nang Yuan. I'll shoot you over the link once I post that video.

Short term vacation rentals managed by the local real estate companies are very affordable and something we prefer over a pricey hotel room.

Good point, what are some of those? I found the short-term home rentals to be quite expensive in the area.

@@JfCLA A simple Google search for "Cambria vacation rentals" will show VRBO, Airbnb and professionally managed homes by property managers like Scenic Coast. The ones rented directly with the professional managers are usually cheaper than going through VRBO or Airbnb first. Rates are somewhat seasonal so Oct. when we usually go is cheaper than July or August.

@@JMVideos7676 I just checked the dates we went (3rd week of November), and the Cambria Pines Lodge beats pretty much all the short-term home rentals. By a lot. I love VRBO & Airbnb for places like Hawaii, but in general, the cleaning fees kill you. the Cambria Pines is priced at $169 p/n, plus tax. Under $200 all-in. The cheapest comparable home rental on those dates is $300 p/n, all-in.

@@JMVideos7676 Can Scenic Coast beat $200 all-in P/N from November 24-27? If so, I'm interested.

@@JfCLA Don't forget that you get a whole house with multiple bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, full kitchens, patios, decks, garage parking, multiple TVs and privacy that's not available at a hotel. Yes, it's a few dollars more, but the value is much better in my opinion.

Sadly both Hearst Castle and centrally grown are closed. Centrally grown is permanently closed and her castle is closed for a good long while due to road culvert failures. We are going next month and will have to find other things to do.

This is really a string of ads with some travel ideas.

      Is a recommendation an ad?

Centrally Grown appears to be closed down.

Sausalito, Mendocino are just as nice or better. Hearst Castle is nice but Cambria is pretty run down.

Hey, thanks for the comment :) As a native San Franciscan, I appreciate the Sausalito comment, and I LOVE Mendocino! Not sure I agree with the run down assessment of Cambria, it's actually pretty posh. I have a Mendocino video (in fact, it was among my first!), but Sausalito is a little "busy" for more than a lunch or something.
