@@TommieGun71 Maybe, could and possibly are totally subjective. That's easy to believe. Nowhere in my comment did I take a definitive position. I like your definitive pessimism though.
I knew back when the Vikings first got him. Scratch my head, wondering what’s the hype? Such high hopes for the future. No way could we have paid Kirk and try to keep JJ. Let’s hope we hit on a QB. I hate to sell the farm for a QB who ends up falling on his face.
I hate spending so much money on a WR that really does not make that much of a difference. The Chiefs have shown you don't need Pro Bowl receivers to be successful. Now before you laugh... NO, Kirk is not Mahomes. But he's the best QB for this team right now. I would rather have traded JJ for a couple of 1s and kept Cousins.
They have to pay him well since he is one of the best in the league, but they can't go so crazy that you sacrifice the rest of the team like they did with Cousins.@@Enigma71559
Darnold is a bridge qb and possibly a mentor. It could be a good opportunity for him to reset and it's about time to draft a qb. It was time to move on
We do not know yet how Darnold will do with the Vikings . The offensive players we have are very skilled and an improved defense will give him the ball more often.
What up Ron. I truely think after the moves that were just made and especially the early move @ RB Is making me think the6 are all in on QB. Last draft the Draft of 2023 they were reportedly in on Anthony Richardson . I want the Vikes to get Maye 8f that 8s the lhsir guy and can't get him then I see them trading back to get Michael Pennix Jr. that would make Darrisaw tradable. If Pennix is the the man then We fan get some amazing draft capable. But 5hen we need to get an awsome RT. The future is amazing and I'm here for it and will be regardless of pain or gain. #VIKINGSNATION #NFLDRAFT24 #MNSPORTZ
Hes not "replacing" Kirk. Hes a bridge QB that will have to compete to be a starter. He could easily get beat out for the job by a rookie......if they draft one.
Hey Ron, I totally get the idea that Darnold is what looks like to be a bridge quarterback. But he’s young 26 years old. He was drafted number three overall, he throws a very accurate ball and he has a strong enough farm, well I’m not against drafting a franchise quarterback this young man was meant to be a franchise quarterback, was drafted to be a franchise quarterback, and hasn’t had the situation That supports that idea. Why can’t KOC develop Donald as his franchise quarterback. If Donald came out in this draft this year, which is an excellent draft, he would still potentially be a top 10 pick considering his body of work in college, and he is as good as the guys that are being drafted. I’m not against drafting a quarterback I’m not against getting another quarterback, but I’ve watched the film on Sam Darnold and I think he’s in about as good position as he’s ever been in to potentially impact Team long-term and while I’m not trying to be over positive, I believe there’s a chance he can prove himself right here
The only thing I don't like about Kirk is he doesn't care enough about the ring! If he did he would take less to put a real team around him. But that's just me when is the money enough? Never for Kirk I guess!!! That is a huge difference between him and the Goat (Brady) for Brady winning was everything even more important then money!
Hey Ron, Cousins was 1-6 in the playoffs. Forget getting us to a Super Bowl … he couldn’t get us past the first round of playoffs. Happy to move on to Sam Darnold and eventually JJ McCarthy (?)
Are there any good qb prospects they could potentially get next year, why this year, I mean I’m not impressed, I don’t see a franchise qb in this draft but maybe the LSU qb , I think trading down twice in first get another second, two thirds and a fourth and have some fun.
Kirk wasnt the issue, it was the play calling on defense for most of the games that lead to failures. Last year it was the fumbles and injuries to Kirk. Play calling by KOC was, at times, way too conservative. Been seeing that for YEARS from the other coaches. Get a 2 touchdown lead and then try to kill the clock...which always bite us in the ass.
Look, that stadium should be empty! Babies born the year the Vikings came to town are now becoming Senior citizens. We’ve been promised a Super Bowl all our lives. Now we’re mature enough to give the biggest F you to the Vikings franchise. And everything is over priced on hope and a promise unfulfilled. It’s all been a lie. And the franchise wants to keep gas lighting the fans. Go bankrupt! It would make me smile.
JJ is going to be the same damn problem Kirk and Hunter were. All our money going to just a few guys. Kirk is gone and suddenly we have money, and we are signing all of these new players who will help us win!! TRADE JJ for 2 number ones. Use those combined with our #1 this yr and next yr to trade up to get Harrison Jr and Jayden Daniels. You are set for 5 years of two awesome receivers and a franchise QB for cheap!!! Do it now!
Lol, he had that his first couple seasons in MN with an elite coaching and GM staff too who he contributed to getting fired. He's now 36 and coming off a severe injury. He has been a very good QB throughout his career, but he was hardly ever elite when the team needed him in the biggest moments.
@@justinpickens940 If they know this year is bound to be around the .500 mark they should've just rode it out with Mullens on the cheap and used $10 million to bring in a solid LG. IMO if we're gonna be .500 we might as well be .100 for a year.
4 year deal worth $180million. 50million signing bonus and 100 million guaranteed. No way Vikes could do that. Glad Vikes held the line. Let’s see what they do in the draft.
Kirk was loyal to a fault???
You mean loyal to a buck!!!
The 14th highest paid QB last year? That guy ?
You didn't add on the $28.5million he gets from the Vikings this year and the $10million he gets from the Vikings next year, ya that guy.
Exactly! It was time to move on.
I disagree that Sam Darnold is not a runner.
He has 13(?) Rushing TDs for his career and is faster on the run than many give him credit for.
Maybe a good back-up, but we still need a good starter.
Sam Darnold could become Kirko Chainz 2.2 only a little more mobility.
Let's hope not. Please don't mention the K word.
I'm just a little worried about Ed Ingram's tricks.🤣
Sammo Darnoldzz Chainz?
Have you not watched the tape???? Sam is just as capable of running as Dobbs was. If not more so. Plus, he’s bigger and stronger.
Maybe more than a bridge. He's only 26. He could possibly be pretty good. Can we please block for him! PLEASE.
@HookMann88..... LoL.... You don't really believe that!

He's trash! Trash at two teams already. Bring Kirk back!
fun fact: all of darnold's career, the "best" hole-line he ever had was ranked 29th

If Darnold (who has 7 years of NFL experience) gets beat out by a rookie, he might as well quit NFL Football.
Highly doubtful Darnold gets beat out by a rookie.

Vikings doing good things
Just like we failed with kirk 😂
It’s like winning the lottery and telling your family that White Castle is the best you can do…
Now, don't we get a 3rd for Kirk leaving? I have the song in my head, He's on a Midnight Train to Georgia.

your'e wrong 2018,19 Kirk sucked when our defense was at it's best. that was MN's window. explain cousin's performance those two years
Thank you you're right...but he's Been lights out since.Hes not the same QB. Atlanta is getting an elite QB.
