This Sheriff is the epitome of decency, compassion, efficiency and professionalism. He should receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Some might say he is merely doing his job; I see an individual that has repeatedly gone over and above his duties to make his County a safe place to live. Kudos to this wonderful, dedicated Sheriff! I would agree with you except that our Justice system is so messed up that I don't think they are competent enough to reliably determine someones guilty. there are a ludicrous amount of innocent people in prison. I just watched a documentary about a guy who got life in prison for murder who is 6'5 but the video of the murder clearly shows the killer's height to 5'6". He's still in prison. Prosecutors don't care if youre innocent,they only care about conviction percentage.

John, I definitely am not calling you dumb, but that is a dumb statement. Statistics all over the world clearly show that the answer to gun deaths isn't more guns. I could include dozens if links, but just google "number of deaths from guns per year by country". You will notice that all the countries with gun restriction laws have vastly lower deaths from guns. Not to mention all the accidental deaths saved from kids etc finding guns they shouldn't. And NO, deaths from other means (knives etc) don't increase. I don't expect you to agree because Americans love their guns and it's as simple as that. It shows in the stats. Australia has 1.4 deaths per million. USA 29.7 per million. I have no problem with that thinking, it is build into your history. I love fireworks although I am aware that dozens of kids loose fingers every year. I can blame it on the parents etc, but I would never argue that the answer to kids loosing fingers is more fireworks?? It just doesn't make sense. I respect all that these officers do except when they imply that drugs especially but limited to marijuana are responsible for these crimes. I have smoked pot all my life and I've even done meth and I would never commit such acts. Half of the population smokes weed these days so of course it will show up in relation to criminals but in no way does that mean that marijuana is responsible for these senseless crimes!!

Its still illegal until it isn't. Your admission to both marijuana and meth is a testimony against your character. It also says you have been, at least at one point, a burden on society, (and still may be). The fact that you have used those drugs means that the blood is on your hands of everybody that has died up to that point to deliver those drugs to you - Even those that have OD'd. If you use drugs you're part of the problem regardless of how much you think you aren't.
I agree. I think marijuana should be legalized for recreational use all over the U.S. it has so many benefits and you can't overdose on it like other drugs and alcohol.

I am completely against giving life sentences to murders , I don't think I will ever understand why the death penalty is not used in every state.

John, I definitely am not calling you dumb, but that is a dumb statement. Statistics all over the world clearly show that the answer to gun deaths isn't more guns. I could include dozens if links, but just google "number of deaths from guns per year by country". You will notice that all the countries with gun restriction laws have vastly lower deaths from guns. Not to mention all the accidental deaths saved from kids etc finding guns they shouldn't. And NO, deaths from other means (knives etc) don't increase. I don't expect you to agree because Americans love their guns and it's as simple as that. It shows in the stats. Australia has 1.4 deaths per million. USA 29.7 per million. I have no problem with that thinking, it is build into your history. I love fireworks although I am aware that dozens of kids loose fingers every year. I can blame it on the parents etc, but I would never argue that the answer to kids loosing fingers is more fireworks?? It just doesn't make sense. So love your guns, that's fine by me, I certainly loved mine before I voluntarily handed them in. Just don't try to make out the world is safer if we all carry guns??

I will say in your defense, the argument that Americans need guns in case the government becomes a dictatorship never really held weight to me until now with the world seeing what Trump is doing trying to become supreme ruler. The stats that need evaluated are the percentage of gun owners killed by their own gun during the commission of a crime against them; the percentage of gun carriers who are shot/killed by the criminal as they attempt to defend themselves. You are better off learning how to disarm someone and learn how to effectively beware of your environment then carrying a gun.

I respect all that these officers do except when they imply that drugs especially but limited to marijuana are responsible for these crimes. I have smoked pot all my life and I've even done meth and I would never commit such acts. Half of the population smokes weed these days so of course it will show up in relation to criminals but in no way does that mean that marijuana is responsible for these senseless crimes!!

Its still illegal until it isn't. Your admission to both marijuana and meth is a testimony against your character. It also says you have been, at least at one point, a burden on society, (and still may be).
The fact that you have used those drugs means that the blood is on your hands of everybody that has died up to that point to deliver those drugs to you - Even those that have OD'd.
If you use drugs you're part of the problem regardless of how much you think you aren't.
