Your videos are all so entertaining and well put together. Like it could be an actual show on the Travel Channel instead of the Vlog format that many people do. Love your channel. Hope you guys get huge!!
Thanks so much for saying so! Even though we’re just two goofballs doing this for fun, we work really hard to give our show a professional production feel, so we really appreciate the compliment! We hope we get huge, too haha!
Cool video!! Hey this guy, Chuck Burnham is a very close friend of mine, and a very talented painter, and one of the last painters out there that does a traditional hand brushed style, that fits perfect for these old dark rides. Hes the man when it comes to darkride art,and he is currently refurbishing his own pretzel darkride from the 40s or 50s A really cool ride with very old and rare tricks and manequins. I am also an amusement ride painter, so me and Chuck have been friends for many years, We are both working with Powers Great American Midways winter quarters in North Carolina. If you want to do an interview with Chuck, hes very knowledgable about this kind of stuff. and he owns one of the last pretzel rides, let me know and I can get you in contact with him. TJ the painter
Hi TJ! Thanks so much for all the info! We’d love to get in touch with Chuck, we agree that he’s incredibly talented and would really like to learn more about what he does! (And the work you’ve done!) Can we chat more over email? You can send us a message at justaquickdetour@gmail.com 😊
Hey Tj, this is Cole who was interviewed in this video. I’m also a friend of Chuck’s. I have been unable to get in contact with him since August of 2023. Could you help point me in the right direction to reaching him again? Thanks!
Cole! Hey man! Thanks so much for all your help with the video! It was great meeting you and chatting about this amazing ride! It really is such a wonderful hidden gem and it’s so cool that you get to be part of its history. 👻
Great video! I love Camden Park and its old charm, one of the last parks of its kind. So glad it’s still there and its classic rides too. If you get a chance, go in October! Night rides are great on the Big Dipper and they have more haunted houses too.
Hey bud! We are! We were actually just doing some JAQD planning last night around our upcoming road trips for Goose and Phish shows in NY, WI, and MI! Just been taking a break while we finish editing the book Ryan wrote over the winter! But we’ll be back soon! 😃
I'm glad to know Chuck for the past three years He is a good friend And his dog named tuffy Rest in peace always came up to me when I was cooking on the grill. But it's Paul's up saying, where's my jambo?
This episode covered some of my favorite things: amusement parks, roller coasters and haunted houses all rolled into one twisted pretzel. The Chuck Burnham art is wonderful! Didn't know there was such a thing as "dark rides". I wonder if the Exterminator in Kennywood falls into that category?
Glad we could pretzel that all up for you! Good question about Exterminator...I think most would just consider it a roller coaster, buuuut there's also an argument to be made that THIS ride is actually a roller coaster, too, since it runs a complete circuit on a track and is completely powered by gravity, which is how a lot of people define coasters. So basically all the definitions are kinda blurry and it's really up to you how you want to classify things! Thanks as always for watching!
I work with 2 awesome guys who do this for a living as a painter and artist on rides and all. I can you their numbers you gotta see their work. Thank you get back to me please 🙏🏾

Perfect video to watch on Halloween. Would love to try that ride with the tilting cars. Such colorful scary art. Great job as usual!
