  • Hello guys! A different challenge and with a lot of emotion! ATTENTION the car is for sale. Contact Mr. Ludovino Carvalho cell.: (+351)916900256. PORTUGAL.
    This diagnosis and fault finding are still today the basis for determining the faults of an engine not working. Yes, in a modern car we have more to see but that doesn't mean we should discard the most basic and simple. Age was the only fault with the car, the starter motor was charred and the distributor contacts also corroded, corrosion that also happens in relays and window switches, something I have already addressed several times on this channel. Further down the description will have such videos and others.

    Wow! Haven’t seen one of those in years! Lovely cars, great to drive! Good job, really enjoyed watching the video! These cars were really ahead of their time. Much better than most counterparts!

      Thank you very much for watching the video! I really enjoyed doing this! It was very satisfying but close to not happen.
      Parts for the starter were very expensive and the new one less then the parts but still expensive. The seller didn't want to put that much not knowing the engine was good. This good used one saved the day!

    Car of the Year 1971, I think. I had a 1973 from 77 - 80. Rusty when I bought it, falling to bits by 7 years old. But a great, revvy, fun little cheap car that I liked a lot. Seemed to eat consumables, plugs, points, brakes, clips, switches - but never broke down. Very, very rare now in UK. Nostalgia for me to see this. As soon as I saw the gearlever I remembered installing new bushes, an easy job which fixed the linkage for pennies. Thanks very much. Now back to your Alfa videos - I have a 147 Sport Q2 :-)

      Not very comum in Portugal Ider, not very valuable yet but this one is gone for around 2000 euros.
      I did took it for a drive and it was awesome!
      Congratulations for your q2! Very good car!!

      @@alfaromeonoproblem I've had that for 7 years, bought cheap with ingested swirl flaps/head damage. DIY fixed, flaps deleted, EGR blanked, mapped, rustproofed and serviced, so it would last. There's nothing I'd replace it with at any price, not even a 147 GTA - too thirsty and too complicated for DIY.

    Bravo Bruno. Great new content. I was a bit concerned you would suck in some of the crap around the engine bay, into the carburettor.

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was a bit concerned of that too, I removed just the essential to do it. Being a top draft carburettor it was not that dangerous. After that we assemble everything and cleaned out all of the pine tree needles and dust. The car runs and drives now.

      My friends dad had a Panda with the same engine. Rust killed the car off but the engine and gearbox was still good and suprisingly for an old Fiat it would always start from cold.
