What I can tell you about the one I bought is: It was unplayable out of the box which would have been very disappointing for a beginner I would imagine, but really it just needed half a turn on the truss rod and a slight raising of the bridge so no big deal. Mine had a QC check sticker from the US but I'm in Oz and Indo is just above us so not sure whey it needed it to go to the US for a QC check. Perhaps all that climate variation caused the neck to move a bit (??) The finish is perfect. There are zero flaws in it - Beautiful guitar for sure, really impressed. 👍 The binding is perfect. The fret work is some of the best I have seen. Every one is perfectly smooth and there are no high frets. I've owned quite a few electric guitars but over the last 10 years, only one, my Mexican Strat which I love, so I can really only compare this guitar to that. My Strat has a few slightly rough frets at the bridge end of the board. The LTD fretwork is perfectly smooth, and I checked them all for high/low spots, there are none! The LTD is definitely not a heavy guitar and is lighter than the Strat. Its a comfortable guitar to play (although the Strat is better ;-). I know apples and oranges comparing tone on this to the Strat, but anyway, the Strat tone is superior to me, and the Strat feels better to play to me (maybe just because that's what I'm used to). I play no set style of music, I play bits and pieces of whatever I'm into that day, and for me realistically most of the time, I'm still picking up the Strat, except on those Metal type days when the LTD is superior for sure ;-) I understand why some would want to change the pups. To cut a long story short, the LTD is a very nice guitar and for anyone wanting to play heavier stuff, its a winner. Now, my one issue which I am really not impressed with. The bridge pickup occasionally fades in and out. Its only done it a handful of times so I know its pointless taking it back to the shop as it is very unlikely it will happen there.. Obrigado!
Witch One do you think its best for playing death/black metal? The Ltd ec256 or the Harley Bento ex84 with Emg pickups? Do you have any other guitar suggestion in mind whitin this price range?

1:20 what is the song? It sounds like Metallica but I’ve never heard it before
Yes, it does sound like that :) It's a song i created inspired in Metallica : th-cam.com/video/yYGc2heXFto/w-d-xo.html
@@megahurtz30 amazing song !! Good job i love it
@@laflammechristophe4548 Thank You!! :)
with a lil tweaking these guitars kill anything epiphone makes
what size pots are those?
Not sure if regular size or smaller, i don't have the guitar anymore, and i never changed the pots or even took them out...
Can you play death metal and Doom metal
Anyone knows what the second song in the intro is called? 😭 It sounds like a Metallica track to me but I can't seem to find it
It's inspired by Metallica :) but it's something i made with a friend of mine: th-cam.com/video/yYGc2heXFto/w-d-xo.html
@@megahurtz30damn man 😭 that's so cool, anyway, great video! I'm actually probably gonna buy this guitar but in snow white in a couple of weeks!!
@@CBTTT.14 thank you very much! :)
i broke its machine head.
Is grover 406c locking tuner compatible with it????
Maybe... not sure. It's best you take measurments to see if they match the Grovers
I'm about to purchase a 258, it looks like it has electric pickups unlike the traditional humbuckers from the looks of it here. Does anyone know how it effects the tone compared to the 256 shown in the video? Would it have better metal tones?
This or fender squier affinity ? Plz help me chose.
Well... What kind of music do you want to play?
Is this the EC 256 FM or not FM?
This one is the FM, which i believe stands for: Flamed Maple
Hi. And what kind of melody sounds at the very beginning of the video?
Hi, that is just some riffs i made for a "Sunday with Ola Challenge"
256 vs gibson.....you cant ell the diff at all. 256 is a banging guitar for the price...best out there,
Witch One do you think its best for playing death/black metal? The Ltd ec256 or the Harley Bento ex84 with Emg pickups? Do you have any other guitar suggestion in mind whitin this price range?
I guess the EX84 with the EMG, but if you can, try to find a Jackson pro series or X series or a Schecter, in the second hand market, already with actives, or an LTD as well, but with actives
@@megahurtz30 thanks bro
Boas!
:D Vale a pena?
Obrigado!
How do these compare to the more expensive 401 and 1000 series? I like the price point but afraid of the quality. Like would you have to sink some dollars into it?
Well, i'd have to test them to really say, but of course the pickups are different, they will either be active EMG or Seymour Duncan, they will likely sound brigther and with a little more output
@@megahurtz30 thank you for the reply
Someone please help me decide ASAP!!
This or an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro Made in China. Both priced almost the same used from where I am.
Please asap someone help me decide.
Never buy a china made, its more of 80/20 percent of regret 😅 buy instead from indonesia, korea or japan.
LTD
please share what brand of guitar strap is that ...i wanto buy for my ec256
I got it with a guitar i traded... it just says "Rock Skull", but i don't know if it that is the brand
Thanks 🙏🏻 Buddy. Im looking for affordable Lefty LP Style Guitar, your Review is Great 👍🏻 i might get one of them
Thank You! :)
What is lefty?
@@yashkulkarni3100 left handed guitar/player
My first guitar was ibanez RG 321mh... now i'm thinking about this guitar.. I like to play metallica :). good upgrade?
You can play Metallica with it, but if i were you, i would seek an LTD Ec with active pickups
@@megahurtz30 in the end I bought the LTD ec-401 in black.
Please help me choose between Epiphone SG standard or This? It
well, both seem equally good choices to me... maybe i would go with this one, but, you are the one who should decide, you're the one who will play it right? ;) think what guitar would you rather pick up, if you're going to play, just by looking at it
Merci d'avance
Difficult to say, LP guitars aren't much lighter or smaller than this, i think...
Great review.. I just bought an older version of this guitar. I feel "more authentic" playing this guitar with a high quality builds that they do then say... "other manufacturers" out there. ;-) "so says MrTom... and so it was written.."
Thanks! :)
@@megahurtz30 Really great review man. I'm pretty old guy.. I've been in the music business since 1984. I mainly write and record commercially licensed music under performance rights organization, BMI, Inc. I went for ESP / LTD because they have been around for a long time, and I wanted a solid guitar with humbuckers and did not want to go the Fender or Gibson route.. but something with a name brand attached to it... and a good price. Have a great upcoming week, stay safe out there.
@@MrTom_Songwriter Thanks once again, and stay safe as well ! :)
6:33 whats the song?
18 and Life, by Skid Row
megahurtz30 awesome! Can you get a good zakk wylde style lead tone with this?
@@ollieheads374 Well, if you put EMGs, it should be no problem, but with the stock humbuckers, you will need a pedal or something like that to push the gain and treble a bit higher
megahurtz30 im currently using a boss katana which has od and distortion built in, would that do it?
@@ollieheads374 Not sure...Only trying it out
can it do old school Thrash / Death?
Sort of... not the ideal use for it. It could use other pickups for that, in my opinion. But with some EQ and Overdrive pedals, it can do it
@@megahurtz30 oh, thanks for responding i love your videos
Hi-end for me very beautiful
This or cort cr300 or cr250??????
Haven't tried the Cort guitars yet...
this one, for sure
*This guitar or epiphone les paul studio which is better for hard rock like Guns n Roses Led Zeppelin* ......
I'd have to test that Epiphone first...
@@megahurtz30 Thanks. But do you know which les paul is the best in this price scale by your experience or you have tried. Love your videos btw🎸🎶
@@mertterekeci6093 Thanks! Well, there are a few i guess, if you can find something with Probuckers in the same price range, it might sound quite good, i hear good things about them. As for the LTD, in terms of body shape and maybe neck as well, it will probably be more confortable to play than an Epiphone LP
Body depth?
I didn't measure that, but as you can see in the first part of the video, it's not fat or too thick, it's a normal, confortable body shape and depth...
Hmm a lot of hum and the pickups definitely need to be swapped out.
What, Indonesia??
It's made in Indonesia, yes
China or indonesia made?
Indonesia
@@megahurtz30 in your honest opinion, does the guitar worth it, aesthethic and quality? I know it is a mid range i just want a guitar that i can play standard E on rock and alternative.
@@guitarhub90 Yes i think it's worth it
The PUPs are too dark tho. Fat, juicy, plumpy woods. PUPs are dead-ish...
Seems to be the fault of the LTD EC-256.
