my s340 came with a 4gb ram stick already on the slot but the system only identifies those same 4 gb, does that mean that my motherboard does't have the built-in ram?
Hey did your laptop come with a 256gb ssd? Just wondering because my specs are 8gb ram, 256gb. Just want to know because ima order a 500gb ssd to put in but can I use 2 ssd at the same time?
The one I had was a 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD as standard. It would be possible to fit a larger M.2 drive and a SATA SSD though since the connector and mount for the SATA 2.5" drive was all present.
Best bet would be to open it up and check.
Mine is 8gb ram and 256 gb ssd. Can I add another 4gb ram?
I will add SSD M.2, please, can you help me? SSD Adata S11 Pro, it can be helpful?
hey mate few days back water spilled on my keyboard and some keys now stopped working so how can i fix it
PLEASE HELP ME
Hy man, thank you for the tutorials.
What about the Type C port, i heard that it doesn't support charging but it would support a dongle with ethernet, hdmi and some other basic ports?
Yes, it'll work with standard USB-C devices, or USB-A devices using an adapter.
Ethernet as well, yes?
Yes, they are just a standard USB device. Something like this would work fine: amzn.to/2JAwLkt
@@BrueComputing NOT A CLUE..ALL GREEK TO ME.
Hi I can change my 4gb memory for an 8gb one since it has two slots, one of 4gb and another of 8gb to have 16gb of ram
Do i have to remove the Battery to upgrade the RAM or can i just put the new ram in and thats it ?
Muchas gracias Brue Computing. Muy buen video.
Hi my girlfriend has one of these and out of the blue it stopped turning on, the power indicator blinks 6 times and nothing happens, I've removed battery and cmos battery for 15 mins and still nothing.
Anyone had a similar issue?
Thanks.
Mine came with 8gb ram, I would like 16gb, do I just need to put another 8gb in or do I need to get a 16gb?
My Lenovo s340 has crashed, processor I think, but I need the information inside the NVME 2240 ssd drive...I have tried searching Amazon and Ebay for an enclosure for an NVME 2240, but to no avail...Is there any other way I can retrieve my data....Thanks
I use one of these: amzn.to/3scxg9C
The drive mounting lug can be moved for 2230/2242/2280 drives.
@@BrueComputing, thanks a lot man, but it only mentions 2230/2242/2280 no mention of 2240....or are those others a range of numbers...cos I'll have to buy this immediately..
The 2242 mounting should hold it - the 40/42 is the length of the PCB, 40 or 42mm long. There is a bit of adjustability there with the mounting positioning, so you should be able to fit it up in a 2242 mount.
Electrically they are the same.
@@BrueComputing Well that's good enough for me my friend, I really appreciate you taking time out to help me....Thank you.
WHAT SIZE OF M2 MEMORY FIT IN THESE NOTEBOOK?
M.2 2280 NVMe type drive, so 80mm long.
Hi Do you know if I can add a 8GB RAM Slot to this computer? Thanks for the answer
there is one slot with 4GB stick in it, you can repleace it with 8GB. 4+8=12GB will be after.
Yes, you can add up to 16GB in it.
How much pins are these ram? 260? CL19 or CL17??
Hello. I want to know how many RAM slots it has.
Can i use 8gb ddr4 2666 ram instead of 4gb ram to upgrade it to 12gb ram (8+4).
Yes you can
yeah, but 2400
@@LeonMadrid Lenovo recommend 2666 type ram in ideapad s340
How hard is it to upgrade the usb ports on this?
You can't.
@@BrueComputing Thanks for the quick reply.
Hi! If I have an 2.5" SSD would work? I mean, can I use the HDD slot to replace it? Thanks!
Yes, 2.5" SSD will work just fine.
great video, thnks! can we add a m2 keepenig my old sata?
Yes, you can have both an M.2 and SATA drive. You'd probably want to clone the contents of the SATA HDD to the M.2 SSD and then erase it.
@@BrueComputing Can you explain how to transfer the operating system to the new m.2 ssd.
I recently did this and need to know how to move my operating system to the new m.2 ssd to speed up my system.
hello sir i have lenovo s340 and there is some burning smell coming from it , the laptop is in the warrenty some can i get replacement of the motherboard. plz help
You need to contact Lenovo about a warranty repair.
can i use 8 or 16gb ram for ideapad s340 14-IWL Model 81N7?
You can only add another 4 GB RAM? Nothing beyond?
Hi! Thanks for the video. Did anyone try to install 16GB memory stick?
Hi Sam, even though Lenovo officially recommends to install only 8GB to get 12GB Max in total on their support website (It seems to be a misunderstanding on their end) After watching this great video and doing some research by my own, I was able to install 16GB SODIMM DDR4 PC4-2666V Mhz-SE1-11 Samsung memory stick without a problem (My Lenovo Ideapad S340 14” Ryzen 7 came with 4GB DDR4 PC4-2666VMhz-SCO-11 Ramaxel). As a matter of fact, I'm writing you from my upgraded laptop at this very moment. Hope this information could it help for you too. Cheers from Colombia.
@@OKADAVID Thank's for your information, but it's too late. I didn't bought this model because of unknown memory aspects. I don't understand manufacturers who sells notebooks with RYZEN processors with 4 GB in single channel
@@OKADAVID thanks for the experience! I am going to do the same, coz the official service adds only 8Gb, but I need more
@@OKADAVID hello, how is it working now your laptop a year after? I'm thinking of buying a 16 GB instead of a 8 GB, I'll appreciate your answer, thanks!❤️
Hi@@laaventuradeeclypsa , is still working great, not a single issue to report after a year of daily use. I would recommend to make sure you get the proper reference of the SODIMM DDR4 memory card that runs nicely on your laptop. Besides of that, wishing you all the best.
Is this the same as the model LENOVO IDEAPAD S340-15IILD 81WL003FMJ - GREY COLOR?
Hey which, model is yours because when I went to upgrade my 8GB RAM model, the upgradable slot already had RAM in it
Same

Hello sir, can i add samsung 8gb ddr4 2666v ram to this laptop and will it increase the performance? Thanks
How do you replace the GPU please?
You cannot actually replace the GPU of this laptop because I think it's soldered into the motherboard
@@the_eccleguy thanks
@@TCA_ No problem. Glad to help
So if i have 8 gb is that in one stick or is there already one in there?
Check with CPU-Z - it can tell you what the configuration is. It'll show it as two slots, but one of those is the soldered down RAM.
If it thinks both are occupied then it is 4+4, if it thinks only 1 is then it is 8GB soldered down.
Does the ram have to be 2400mhz or can it be 2666mhz?
DDR4-2666 will work fine.
