I sort of do a hybrid. I do set up the year and weeks in advance; I have too many calendar items to just go month but month. But I make a hybrid that has a notes section each week, trackers, planning sections for the youth group I work with, and wide open notes sections. I may have to look a little bit for something, but I know everything is in that notebook.
I love the idea and I've attempted one several times but no matter how simple and minimalist I make it I still get bogged down, overwhelmed, and end up falling behind and giving up.
I've found I use my bullet journal much more since I stopped trying to make it 'pretty'. I use one colour per month (usually a different shade of grey but I occasionally use an actual colour) and a black pen. It's so much simpler and makes me want to use it because it doesn't take forever to set up.
I’ve tried to start bullet journaling but I can never get into it I’d rather buy an already put together planner and call it a day haha I could never be diligent enough to start and keep a bullet journal also happy 2021!!!
Watching your videos is a massive stress relief for me. I've tried to bullet journal before, but I can't remember to keep up with it. I guess I just don't have enough going on; a regular wall calendar keeps track of things I need to do just fine.
For me, i enjoy creating visually aesthetic bullet journal spreads not because i have the "time" for it, like you said, but because i actually enjoy it and the creative outlet brings me value.
Very similar to my set up! I appreciate bullet journal videos like this - functional and practical, like the original intention of the tool and not full of arts and fluff.
Thanks Ashlynne! I really appreciate how simple & doable this is! I’ve been using the Passion Planner for years but am finding it limiting and want to add more. I like your monthly goals, broken down from your yearly goal. Thanks again
I've been using a bullet journal for 4 years, sometimes in greater or less detail depending on the year or how much time I have but I love the flexibility it has. Thanks for your video
Your bulletjournal is so simple and minimal! I love it. The habits tab is something I want to incorporate in after reading atomic habits. Never thought of having a thought dump page that’s great.
Wow, very much needed words and inspiration. Becoming stale in my spiritual life, this was such a breath of fresh air to get back on track to what is really needed and really matters. Thank you so much for your faithfulness.
Any year is a great time to try methods, like bullet journaling, but for me especially this year as I will be semiretired (end of April). Looking forward to adapting your ideas so that my retirement days do not blend together. I also like this idea because of its built-in adaptability to unforeseen schedule changes which does crop up once in awhile. P.S. Great ideas on decorating for days like Christmas. New tradition. :)))
I’ve always been interested on how you make your own journal. Finally, I can now convert my notebooks to a journal that would work for me too! Thanks for sharing Ashlynne! 😍😊
This is so much more helpful than other bullet journalling videos I've watched in the past! I had kind of labelled myself as 'not a bullet journaller' because whenever I tried to match the beautiful aesthetics I'd just get disappointed and give up on the whole thing! I'm a university student and I'm getting married this August so I definitely have a lot on my plate this year and I'm going to try this set up of bullet journalling as I think it will be really useful for me! Thanks so much for the video! xxx
the only thing that I don't like is gosting, I can see clearly the writing through the paper, I recommend changing the pen since it's hard to change the notebook.
I just started bullet journaling in October! I like to use stickers to decorate my pages, but I definitely dont go to the extremes that some of the bullet journal queens do haha! I would also suggest a notebook with thicker pages, like 160GSM to avoid the pen bleeding through if that bothers you. I have an Archer and Olive notebook and I love it! I can even use markers to fill in habit trackers with nothing bleeding through!
I bought a Moleskine weekly planner and I was able to incorporate some of the aspects of starting a bullet journal! I thank you for the video as it has inspired me to be more organized!
Hey ! Very nice ideas. I am going to make it today. I am a graduate student still trying hard to get a job and this makes me frustrated too. Having a bullet journal might help me to calm down and stay positive with my situation.
Bullet journaling always seemed so unattainable or impractical before and you've done such good work and a beautiful job making it functional and simple. I love and appreciate your videos
Happy new year Ashlynne! I hope this year is going to be successful for all of us! Looking forward to spend this year with learning more about minimalist living and being more mindful! Hugs!
Love these ideas! I already got a free planner from work, but I am going to borrow a few of your ideas to modify (incl the mini calendars to mark achieving daily goals)
Watching this again mid year and I didn't think I needed it. But I definitely need a new organisation system so I think I might try it for the rest of 2021! Thank you Ashlynne 😊
I tried doing a bullet journal like this, but now I just use it for monthly journal prompts. I’ll go into Pinterest towards the end of each month to find journal prompts that I want to do. Naturally, I’ll get busy with school or just lazy and will forget to answer the daily prompts, but I just go back and fill them in plus that day’s prompt and maybe a day, two, or three upcoming prompts. I’ve been doing this since March 2020. I also have a bucket list of places I want to go both foreign and in the U.S., celebrities I would like to meet (even though the chance is slim to none)
I love your content so much! As I change from being a student at university to start working in a lab I really appreciate the freedom of a bullet journal. Most often I get creative with a monthly cover and than I use a minimal setup for the aktual planninf just like you do. Happy new year from Germany 🥰
This year I've really taken it upon myself to plan, plan , plan and just seeing other minimalists simplify the process is very helpful to me. It's easy to overcomplicate these things and of course that leads to me jumping ship often :D Thank you!
I love the designing aspect of this, and also the simplicity! I am going to try this for sure. I usually have little notes, lists, goals, all over the place. This will be great, thanks.
This was great! I started bullet journaling 3 months ago. I keep it ultra minimal. Always like seeing how others do theirs. Thank you for sharing! And happy new year x
I just bullet journaled my week to try keeping tasks on paper rather than my phone! A lot of strategies you mentioned, like breaking down the year into manageable chunks and tracking “habits” are really similar to the strategy outlined in the book The 12 Week Year (how to get more done in 12 weeks than most people do in a year)
in 2019 I tried something like this, but after 3 months I stopped using it I'll try again this year because I have many plans and goals I can't forget :)
Me too, but after 3 months i forgot it, not update it again. But now when i see it again there are goals that i can check because i already finished it or in progress. Well at least i know i already start/finished something. So when i am starting 2021 there is no feeling that in 2020 I didn't do anything.
Thanks for sharing this video, Ashlynne! I have been using a bullet journal system for a few years now, and I really appreciate how I'm able to keep all my notes in one place. I was curious about when during a given month you find it works best for you to make the next monthly spread? That's something I've always struggled with. My current solution is to have an additional, small planner with preprinted, monthly spreads, but it's not an ideal situation. I'd like to return to drawing the calendars. Thanks for any insight you'd like to share with what works for you. :)
This is by far my favorite minimalist bujo video. Thank you for how clear you explain everything. A few questions: Do you not create an index? Also, do you number the pages in your bujo? Thanks so much.
Ahh so happy you posted this! Starting my 2021 bullet journal setup has been so fun and I love seeing how others set theirs up! Hope you have a happy New Year! 🥰😊
Hi, nice video, starting today wondering about 2022. On the weekly overview, how would you do a month starting on Saturday the 1st? I mean... by Monday 2nd?
Ashlynne, I always look forward to your videos! I've decluttered with you, become more minimalist with you and now I'm going to copy your bullet journal 😂. Great easy way to set up. I especially liked your tracker how you just concentrate on a few things at a time. Heads up... when you did your weekly plan, you wrote Sat/Sun 9. It should be Sat/Sun 9/10. Don't turn the page and write 10, or you will need your white out lol.
I love your videos, you have given me something to do during these weird times. I was wondering if there are any books you would recommend for more purposeful living or just books in general.
Do you bullet journal currently? Or is it something you’d like to start? 🤍
Been BUJO-ing for 4 years. Agree on the minimal approach which is what the inventor, Ryder Carroll"s original design and intention.
I've been interested in starting 💕 this video is very helpful thank you 😊

This is going to be my first year bullet journaling, and I was just now working on it. Going to try a new format every quarter to test out layouts 🤞
I love the idea and I've attempted one several times but no matter how simple and minimalist I make it I still get bogged down, overwhelmed, and end up falling behind and giving up.
*"Everything in life is easier when you don't concern yourself with what other people are doing."*
Such a good quote 🤍
Thank you for sharing this reminder.
Heard it twice today
Maybe it's a sign 🤔

I use one colour per month (usually a different shade of grey but I occasionally use an actual colour) and a black pen. It's so much simpler and makes me want to use it because it doesn't take forever to set up.
Wanted to start bullet journaling. I was overwhelmed with the fancy spreads everyone does.
This is awesome. Thank you so much!
It's kinda stupid to be artistic in a minimalistic journal
I’ve tried to start bullet journaling but I can never get into it I’d rather buy an already put together planner and call it a day haha I could never be diligent enough to start and keep a bullet journal also happy 2021!!!

So glad you found it helpful! And yes! I love breaking down my goals into smaller pieces like that! 🤍
I love the idea of bullet journaling but I never really have anything to plan 😂
This is great. I watched so many bullet journaling videos today and it was just overwhelming. Yours is the best, just the basics
I've been using a bullet journal for 4 years, sometimes in greater or less detail depending on the year or how much time I have but I love the flexibility it has. Thanks for your video

Thank you for sharing. My setup is similar but I do love how you bring your goals to monthly spreads! I will be trying that
i love bullet journaling i just started and feel so great doing it pls make more bullet journal videos! monthly ones? 😊
Iam wasted so much of books for journal this one makes my journal minimal and simple thank you sis😍

Definitely geeking out on these productivity+organization habits right now! Inspired!
Super explanatory, thanks! Best video to watch if you just wanna understand the essence of bullet journaling.
the only thing that I don't like is gosting, I can see clearly the writing through the paper, I recommend changing the pen since it's hard to change the notebook.
I like the Rhodia Goalbook... works with most pens I tried

Happy New Year 2021, Ashlynne!❤️
Happy New Year!! 🎊
You too, Ashlynne!
Hey ! Very nice ideas. I am going to make it today. I am a graduate student still trying hard to get a job and this makes me frustrated too. Having a bullet journal might help me to calm down and stay positive with my situation.
This is the best of your videos I have seen in a while! Thanks for the awesome idea!
So awesome I just picked up my new bullet journal today then saw you posted this video!! Love you ❤️
Bullet journaling always seemed so unattainable or impractical before and you've done such good work and a beautiful job making it functional and simple. I love and appreciate your videos

Decided to finally keep a bullet journal this year thanks to this video! You made it so much more approachable, thank you!
I really really appreciate your ideas. Thank you 💙
Such a great video, very inspiring, informative. I definitely will try it out, thank you so much.
Watching this again mid year and I didn't think I needed it. But I definitely need a new organisation system so I think I might try it for the rest of 2021! Thank you Ashlynne 😊

Oh that’s so fun!! Hopefully this video helps! 🥰
@@AshlynneEaton It will a lot as it is a new thing I'm trying this year!

I love how simple and effective this is!
Needed something like this thank you very much. Looking forward to making my life a bit more minimalistic with this bullet journal idea. Thank u
This year I've really taken it upon myself to plan, plan , plan and just seeing other minimalists simplify the process is very helpful to me. It's easy to overcomplicate these things and of course that leads to me jumping ship often :D Thank you!
Oh that’s so awesome to hear! Good luck as you continue the process!! 🥰
These are great tips Ashlynne! Do you have any tips on improving handwriting for journaling? Your handwriting is so neat and font-like.😊💚
Happy new year Ashlynne! Love your content 🤎🤍
I love the designing aspect of this, and also the simplicity! I am going to try this for sure. I usually have little notes, lists, goals, all over the place. This will be great, thanks.
I've been using a bullet journal for the past 6 months and really enjoy how organized it keeps me. Thank you for this great video. Happy 2021 🥳
Oh that’s so awesome!! And happy 2021! 🥰
You always have great ideas for organization. Happy New Year !
This was great! I started bullet journaling 3 months ago. I keep it ultra minimal. Always like seeing how others do theirs. Thank you for sharing! And happy new year x

I appreciate this simple bujo. I have pretty much the same: quickly done, easy to read. I love !
That's the same notebook I picked for my new bullet journal! The color is so pretty 😍 lefties unite!!
I love this video. For me as a beginner, it was very helpful 🤍
Happy new year and thank you for this informative video

Looks great. Helpful!

Thank goodness bullet journal trends are still a thing. Haha Not a trend!! Still bullet journaling. heck yes.
This motivates me so much 😊

Omg it was the video i was looking for :3 happy new year Ashly

Happy New Year 💕🎆
Happy New Year! 🎊🎉
Love this! Happy new year!
Oh thank you so much! And Happy New Year! 🎊🎉
oh my godd, just found a left handed Bullet Journaler!!!
As a left-handed person, have you tried using coiled notebooks? I'm trying to figure out which one is easier to use for a left handed person.
Happpppiiiiiiieeeeeeeee new year love❤️
Going to attempt Bullet Journal for the first time. Just curious why in the Sizes section, do you keep track of length in 9ths?
Love this!!! This is therapeutic to me too, I do it every month. Thank you for another awesome vid Ashlynee!! Happy New Year to you and Christopher! 🤍
Cool system! You inspired me to start a habit tracker. :)
Omg. I’ve been waiting for this video. Thank you 💕. Happy New Year 🥳
Oh that’s so awesome!! Happy New Year! 🥰
If I had one I'd declutter it.
I’m definitely trying this ❤️
