Ive noticed that when old games get revivals, outside of exceptionally lopsided games like MVC2, the people performing best are often character specialists. Maybe just never stopped grinding.
When the player count goes up, you will often see these character specialists drop off because they will run into bad matchups and counterpicks more often in tournaments as the level of play goes up.
Thats mostly due to the quality if competition is extremely diluted. So it makes sense that s specialist thrives. However Brent doesnt fall under this category as Rufus was always busted.

No shit we don't have top 16 full of Daigo Mago Tokido etc, they are professional players that are paid thousands by their sponsors to be at Evo for SF6 primarily and the logistics of the event make it difficult for top players that make it to the later stages to compete in side events at the same time. But you would know that if you went to events. Instead you're making snarky comments instead of competing yourself while these people win money and medals doing what they love. Alright man. It's pretty impressive they are able to maintain this level of play as they are hobbyists and not pros. Also it's not like these players came out of nowhere, both Brentt and Cubano were considered pretty solidly top 10 in the world with their characters even when 4 was the main SF, but when serious money is on the line people will pick E Ryu, Yun etc

usf4 is finally dead. reduced to 5 people watching during grand finals at evo. I love sf4, but would certainly much rather play sf6. sf4 is so scummy and rufus is public enemy no1. rufus is the epitome of scumbag character in a game full of scumbag characters. rufus, fuerte, hugo, abel, gief, sagat, akuma, hawk, oni, twins, seth, adon, cammy, elena, rolento, ibuki... all scummy. sf4 was a race to see who could be the biggest scumbag. unblockables, cheating controllers, invincible back-dashes, tons of secret tech, 1 frame links, 2 frame grabs. this game was f'ed up.

Is it really a W especially if only a few still play it? To see two Americans in GF tells me there was a strong possibility that there trully weren't huge heavy hitters in that game. (I could be wrong).
