*We just retired a 10 year old Keurig, similar to the new one **MyBest.Kitchen** the old one had a LCD display, but this new one seems like it is a little better as far as features. Turn it on, load it up, press the button and wait for the cup to fill. Much quieter than the old one. The amount*

Mine came with two tamper mats, one large and one small. It was a nice touch considering all the other good stuff that came with the machine!

I am no pro at all but we have a similar machine - Breville Barista Express. A few tips. 1. Make sure you have fresh beans otherwise your pressure won't get high enough so extraction won't be great. 2. Your milk frothing needs work. Fill the jug to 1 cm below the lowest part of the spout, then wait til the steam is going strong then hold the tip just below the surface of the milk to get a paper-ripping sound. Keep frothing til the jug is too hot to keep going. Done. 3. Lots of youtube to fill in gaps if my explanations are not clear. 4. If you want to keep learning more fun coffee stuff, a British fellow does some hilarious and clever coffee videos - James Hoffman (spelling?). And finally, we had had our espresso machine for years and I just fumbled along. Once I read a bit and watched a few videos, suddenly my capps and lattes were excellent. Enjoy!! EDIT: Be sure to read through the cleaning instructions and to follow them exactly; otherwise the machine will clog up internally with mineral deposits and be costly to repair.

Now, all you need is an espresso machine caddy that your machine fits into snugly, and has cleats that hook on the back and front of that desk you have it sitting on.
With a snug recess that is the exact width of the machine, or depth of the machine, you won't have to hold the machine when you insert the coffee holder.
I only think of these things because I'm lazy and hate the inconvenience of an in-animated object trying to run away from me. 😂😉

I just had one of these delivered to the house. Amazon was having a flash sale and I couldn't pass up the deal. It's a great little machine but I'm finding that my barista skills need some work.

Many yrs ago I found an used tiny espresso machine in a garbage bin on Manhattan, took it home, cleaned it and confirmed it worked with charm. To grind the beans (which I keep in an air tight can in the fridge) I use one of these dirty cheap/simple electric grinders, no automatic grinder for me. The tamper is an old spice bottle that fits the holder perfectly, and to heat the milk I use the micro since the frother on the machine is just a hassel to clean. Point is: my coffee is non-sophisticated, it all works superbly, I think I just paid $5 (for the grinder) many yrs ago, and all my friends and family always ask if I can brew one more coffee. Guess it's how and why you brew what you brew ....

Don't buy beans from a grocery store(especially Starbucks!). Get them fresh from a coffee shop or coffee roaster. Add a tablespoon or two of name brand heavy whipping cream to your milk. It adds a sweetness and a pleasing texture without adding sugar. These two are absolute game changers. Oh, and don't over heat your milk or it will taste bitter. 138F is the sweet spot to stop steaming so you don't over shoot your temp. Also, keep your portafilter and screen clean or old rancid coffee oils will make your coffee taste bitter as well. Extracting espresso by weight will give you the best flavor from your beans. Practice, practice, practice and watching espresso TH-cam videos are two great ways to get the best espresso out of your machine.

And with just that little spark my La Pavoni is on the counter again. I'm too impressionable. Perhaps you could make a video on creating a nice little knock box. 🖖

Breville barista express is just as good or better with options to change brew time

Yeah, I've got the Breville (Sage to those across the pond) Bambino+, which is basically the same but without the built-in grinder. I've gone through about 600 shots and it's fantastic.

How easy is it to clean and to remove the residual "coffee oils" that accumulate?

Nice machine but goodness it's a lot of money. I do wish they would make these machines more affordable. Have to admit, I'm definitely jealous.

If you already have a grinder that can get down to espresso-grind, you can get somewhat cheaper dedicated machines. But there's a certain minimum level of machinery in these that you just can't make up for. I had a $100 deLonghi and it was a cute little thing, but what it made wasn't really espresso, it just couldn't get the right pressure. I'd say $400 is pretty much as cheap as you can go and still get proper extraction and without liability to break.

@@---we1ok Honestly, it's not very high on the priority list at the moment anyway. I've been looking at coffee grinders and machines. I just couldn't ever imagine paying that amount for a coffee machine. Just personal opinion. That's 2 weeks pension to me. It looks like a beautiful machine though. Make anyone aspire to becoming a barista.

Looks like a good starter machine after awhile you will want better control, watch some videos on milk texturing, you are doing it completely wrong.

As an Italian, I suggest you to NOT press the coffee too much. It should prevent jamming and make a softer coffee. :)
